• What Gives Them The Right?

    Always reading something new,
    always addicted to a different book.
    When I’m at school I don’t have a group of friends to hang out with,
    but that’s the way I like it.
    No one understands that I enjoy it this way.
    I enjoy the stories,
    a small group of friends,
    I even enjoy being alone.
    You don’t know how it is;
    to always be different from everybody else.
    Being the outcast,
    the one people know as odd.
    Well, let me tell you, you do get used to it.
    All the talking behind your back,
    whispers not low enough because it just so happens that you can always make out your name.
    It gets to the point where you learn to not care about what they say about you,
    but what they say about others.
    I like the way I am,
    but people say I need to change.
    That always seems to confuse me.
    It’s getting overwhelming,
    I might as well be drowning within the ignorance.
    It’s just that I don’t understand,
    why do people have all of their expectations?
    Why do they always want it their way?
    They don’t care how anyone feels about what they do to others.
    They need to have a major new point of view,
    because they don’t know that when they do what they do they damage peoples souls.
    I sit around going over and over it in my head,
    and wondering what gives them the right to do this to people;
    people that they dont know anything about.
    What gives them the right?
    What gives them the right?
    What gives them the right?!
    People and their expectations,
    they might as well have non at all,
    because all it does is disappoint.
