• A father leaves to serve his duty over seas
Six children waiting for his return home
One night when everyone is in bed
Their mother calls him to see if everything is ok
A child wakes up, sits in her bed listening
Mother starts to ask, “Are you cheating?”
The little girl who is only eight starts to cry
As her mother asks him, “Why?”
As morning came she doesn’t tell her mother she knows
Days go by the depression gets bigger
Holding it all in and no one knows her pain
She keeps a fake smile on everyday
So no one will ask her, “Is everything ok?”
At night she cries hoping that it all is just a dream,
But when morning comes she smiles once again
Finally, she can’t take it any longer she has to tell someone
When she comes home from school she tells her mother
Something told her to wake up then she heard about her father
As she cries her mother tries to comfort her
She knows her life will never be the same
Two years past not one call from her father
When he came home to visit he didn’t even notice
She was hurting inside and out
Every night when the children were in bed he would call that girl
While waking up, hearing parents arguing
She asks herself why her father calls that girl
    But not his own family?
Sometimes she would ask herself if her father even cares
When he goes back and returns they heard the news
    That girl was pregnant!
So many emotions were running through her head
    What should she do now?
When he comes home, he acts like nothing is wrong
    Like they don’t know,
    Lying to all of them
Trying to get the children to go against their mother
When that girl has the baby she puts it up for adoption
Father and that girl met new people
Her mother and father are now divorced
Mother met a guy who cares about all of the six children
All the children are happy now
Years go by but nothing has changed
She’s glad cause she got something better
    A stepfather that cares
