(I, take you, to be my lawfully wedded partner, to have and to cherish from this day forward.)
A little trouble, just as brittle
As the ice that never falters
Reflecting light upon the altar
A promise to the cruelness
(In sickness and in health)
A slicing sound is so enticing
It draws me deeper to the end
Regretting every moment spent
On family ties and worthless lies
(In joy and in sorrow)
This bitter night is fouled by our litter
Your eyes sweep all around
Making not a single sound
Regressing to a sight that's so depressing
(For better or for worse)
I stand by myself, but see a night so grand
And then I laugh and shake my head
Wishing I had planned ahead
The sweetest taste is left for the starving artist
(For richer or poorer)
One small spark of flame, kindled in this sick game
With one quick puff, the fire's gone
Your haggard face is worn and drawn
You cry and leave those empty arms to dry
(To love and to cherish)
You spat onto the floor, to me you say," Nevermore."
And I turn my head and smile
A pealing laugh that turns to bile
Your footsteps echo deeper, while your heart is growing weaker
(From this day forward)
Soaked with blood, caked in mud
The body's found, wearing not a thing
But that twisted wedding ring
And then I laugh and laugh and laugh at the past
(Until death do us part.)
(Do you swear to live together for all eternity?)
