• I drew myself on my tablet
And that's how it all began

I had to add the glasses. The glasses were first.
Then I shaded in the hair, and the clothing.
And I (of course) made sure my chest was flat.
I scribbled in something ironic across it and added
With a flourish of my pen
A hint of desperation, behind the glasses' lens.

Then I drew you on my tablet next
And that's how it all ended

I drew your hair, and your smile, and of course the clothes
I drew in your eyes and made them the brightest, for sure.
I added something clever on your shirt, and colored in the pigments of your skin.
Your eyes were not desperate, but they were beautiful and important.

There we were. In the magical tablet world.
    And I had to wonder.
Did the girl on my screen
Want the boy on my screen
    As badly as I do?
