• I have a little violin that's hidden in my room
It's in my little corner that's covered up in gloom
I play with it solemnly and let my body do the rest
The scroll on my palm, the chin-rest on my chest

It plays with everything it's got, sounding like a gong
My secret little violin plays my inner song
I play with all my strength, giving the bow a great long pull
My secret little violin, my spirit that it culls

I play a little song and with its sound it teaches
The sound of my violin, my soul that it preaches
I remember the first day I found my little violin
I played it over again, again, and again

It stays in my room and lets the sun shine on it
The calming light it gives off is one I won't forget
Today I found out a little secret
    I love my violin

I have a little violin that's hidden in my room
It's in my little corner that's covered up in gloom
So now I close this poem with a bit of sorrow
I'll play my little violin until forever and tomorrow
