sitting here
in my secluded corner
blade in hand
ready to go
i sit and think
of all the pain
running through my veins
and the only way
to get to it
is to slice my way through
when it first hit my skin
the pain was agonizing
but it was better
than the pain on the inside
blood is trickling its way
down my arm
and the pain is numbed
for now

Description:
Poem I wrote when I was in one of my many dark places. Writing helps me vent. Some of my best work is produced when I'm in pain.
But don't worry, I have never cut myself. But I know several people who have, and I come very close all the time. Tell me what you think. - Date: 01/24/2010

- From a personal perspective, i too know many people who cut themselves. Some of my closest friends do. I too have come close to it in a past I do not speech of. But, I do believe that when I was longing for some kind of release from pain, cutting is not the way to go. You have to find the will power to not. Some evil's are unforgetable; but none of them have to be at anyone's expense. I like your poem, by the way. Venting is great through poetry. I filled many notebooks while writing poetry.
