• Twisting, swirling, floating down,
The purest white snowflakes cover the ground.
Children squeal throwing the snow up high,
Others are dodging snowballs that whistle by in the air.
The smell of pine fills the air,
As mom brings in the new fresh cut tree.
Apples and cinnamon fill the air
    Quietly slinking up the stairs,
Alerting us that grandma’s pie is down.
Holiday specials play on every channel
Voices of characters singing songs for Santa.
Christmas lights of so many colors
    Flash, twinkle, and glow
Adding color to the purest white snow.
A chilly wind whips thought the streets,
Picking up and raining down the snow,
Sticking to the kids unprotected hair
Soaking it with chilly water, as it melts.
    Unlaughing, alone sipping hot coco,
Sick upstairs, watching from my window.
