• Sheltered, harbored
    Taught in ways
    We shall never understand
To "fit in" with our society
    An image-conscious culture
    The "pretty" girls are best
    Nobody cares what's deep inside
    Looks just like the rest
The girls you see in the hall
    In their silent thought
    Not talking about who's rich
    Or poor, or middle-class
    It doesn't matter to them
    Talk about your dances
    Your shallow little ways
    I prefer those hiding
    From our horrid society's ways.
