    A Poem for Him

As I crawl up, you throw me down,
Hit my head on the rocks, leave me to drown.
Stitch up my heart and make it look whole,
But there's nothing you can do to bring back my soul.

You broke my heart, left it scattered on the ground,
When you told me there was another girl that you had found.
Never gave me a chance, like you ever would,
And now there's an empty heart where once you had stood.

    Nobody knows her, everyone cares,
But who would notice me, wrought with despair?
Some people don't believe, but I surely do,
For what should I think, when I can't be with you?

I think I'm not worth it, I'm only a friend,
One who's stood by you, and will – till the end.
You know how I feel, I've told you straight out,
Yet when you talk about her, I want to scream and to shout!

I'll end my poem now, before my heart shatters,
I meant for you to read this, but now it doesn't matter...
But before I go, there's something I have to say
Lest I lose the courage that came today.

    One thing I've never told you, and now can never show;
I love you – more than you'll ever know.
