• born on the verge of a valley,we are taught to fear the precipice,
we are raised not to stray too far, yet we recklessly toe the edge.

we rush to jump from the cliffs of hopeful, invincible youth,
free-falling, enjoying the rush that comes from being truly alive.

till we reach terminal velocity, and falling isn't fun anymore,
we can see the rapids below, ready to swallow us whole.

waiting to strike us dead upon the jagged rocks of responsibility.
yet still we jump, and still we fall, while the water consumes us all

regret all the time wasted and all the opportunities lost.
for there are some lines that should never be crossed.
