• At last, I step out
    Eleven at night, fierce rain
Soaking wet is what I am
I'm just standing outside, waiting in vain

I was recently out of the nightclub
To start on what I'm planning in a fortnight
    Homecoming is where it's at
As I'm walking down the wet steps till I'm out of sight.

I had to leave a half hour early
The words of my own stepdad
And the next day came, I was starting on it
Within a fortnight, I should be glad.

Just me and my lowly high school cap
    The darkness of my coat
    In this night of rain
I wish I was sailing away on a fancy boat

Two weeks away, a petal in my mind
Two will fall, one will be blown away
The rainy night of September 17th
Will soon be turned into another semi-cloudy day

    I may soon be unwanted
As the nightly rain still rumbles
The crack-like tremors below my wet, dirty feet
    Soon, the ground crumbles.

Only eleven at night, September 17th
    Homecoming is at a fortnight
I'm just looking back at the nightclub
Descending down the steps and out of the light

Driving away from all the fun I had
Time to get ready for the next day
As the night of rain is ready to die down
I feel like I have no more to say.
