• Once upon a time, in a land far away
Surrounded by a big wide ocean and a small little bay
A tiny little girl who lived on her own
On an island sitting there all alone
Wondered what the world was like away from her home
Because everyday she wandered the island filled with palm trees, shells, and stones.
Once in a while, she’d go swim in the water
But swimming wasn’t enough to preoccupy this daughter
She wanted more to do with her life
Other than sitting around figuring out how to survive
She didn’t know how she was even living
She barely got equal food a month that people eat on Thanksgiving.
She taught herself how to fish and make fires,
But fish wasn’t her only desire
The swish swish of the ocean was her lullaby every night,
As the moon acted as a night light
This girl’s life was hard to live
And she even knew the world had more to give.
She fell asleep every night and dreamed tomorrow she may
Be taken from this land far away,
This land surrounded by a big wide ocean and a small little bay.
