If I were to love a tree
Would my love be worry free?
Free from the ties of passion and lust.
Hedonistic egoist be gone,
I love you no more.
You’ve torn my heart and broken my trust.
I’ll throw away naivety and innocence,
And take from you hatred’s permanence.
Hedonistic egoist be gone,
I love you no more.
I’ll teach you now of death’s imminence
Happiness as fleeting as the seasons
Scatters like leaves for so many reasons.
Think nothing of my pain, your betrayal.
This treason shall be your last.
Hedonistic egoist be gone,
Betray me no more.
- Title: To Love a Tree
- Artist: Anyuiitte
- Description: This poem is actually from a short story I'm considering writing. It's a fantasy-esque romance about alternate dimensions and such. I have to practice my writing before I can even attempt it. If anyone can give me tips on characterization or transitioning between description and dialog I would be eternally grateful. Any tips regarding poetry would also be appreciated. Review if you feel like it. I'll be sure to check out your work. ^w^ Thanx

This is a really good poem, it makes me want to read the story ^^
If you feel like you need more practice before writing the story, maybe you should try writing it as a screenplay/play first. I don't know if that will help you, but I do it sometimes and it's certainly a start.
5/5, by the way. smile - Report As Spam
