• Twas a very warm day in the summer,
When life was feeling very much the bummer,
    When suddenly outside,
Came a din like a slide,
Making me think of my hummer.

    I dashed outside quick,
    Careful of the porch slick,
    And what should I see,
    Taking place before me,
But two koalas eating away at my hummer.

    I shouted and screamed,
And they ignored me it seemed,
    Not stopping a second,
It was far worse than I reckoned,
As they were already half done with my hummer.

One of them's chowing down with great speed,
The other's cheering him on with great heed,
I called out with great rush,
"Why don't you go on and mush,
And stop chowing down upon my hummer.

My neighbor's car tastes much better I'm sure,
He's got satin pink cushions lining his floor!"
And they turned to me with a smile and a wink,
And said "Of course we know just exactly what you think,
After all, it's next on the list."
