So with the new reboot headed our way, I figured I'd attempt to start discussion on it to get ready for the debut.

A.J. Cook (Jennifer "JJ" Jareau)
Adam Rodriguez (Luke Alvez)
Aisha Tyler (Dr. Tara Lewis)
Joe Mantegna (David Rossi)
Kirsten Vangsness (Penelope Garcia)
Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss)

Zach Gilford will have a recurring role as Elias Voit, one of the UnSubs in the new network the team is tracking down. Erica Messer is in charge of this production.

Current Episode: Seasons 1-15 of the original run and the first 2 seasons of "Evolution" are on Paramount+. Season 1 of "Evolution" is on Paramount+'s YouTube channel.

Feel free to discuss this alongside the original. Personally, I'm unsure on how to feel about it. This feels far too soon for a reboot. I like the idea that we're getting more content, but it feels rushed.

Discussion of each episode will need to have spoilers 24 hours after they air, so people are not spoiled before viewing. Thank you.

Also, just because we're discussing this new iteration, it doesn't mean there won't be discussion on the first 15 seasons that aired on CBS. Feel free to chat about this too alongside the spinoff, novels, etc.

Wow, I didn't even realize there was gonna be a reboot already... I agree that this feels kinda rushed. I stopped watching criminal minds around season 9 as I got busy (and to be honest some of the plots to the newer episodes were a bit too far fetched for me.)

I think I'd have to see what people say about the new season, but if there are really good reviews I might try and finish the earlier seasons and then check out the reboot.

I love criminal minds but part of me also wishes instead of doing a reboot they would have put the money towards creating a new show with a similar format. I love all the actors but there's only so much you can do with a character after like 16 seasons...

I'm going to have to agree on this one with you. We're only 2, 3 years after Season 15 aired and the series drew to a close. Combined with how only part of the original team is returning to this project alongside possible new faces, I'm only excited for the fact we're getting new content.

Good point... I really hope the show draws new viewers but I feel like that'll be hard already with them branding it as a continuation of the old show. I enjoyed most of the new cast members the brought in during the earlier seasons (Seaver never grew on me, but luckily she was only there for a handful of episodes.) so maybe they'll hit it out of the park again in terms of new talent? That would be a big hope for me.

From what I'm reading, a lot of people are upset that Spencer's not returning. That and some are still demanding for Aaron's return.

Honestly, I would like our favorite Unit Chief to return, but after Chairgate, I'm not surprised that he hasn't been asked to return for the project.

Other than that, having Alex be part of the reboot/Season 16 would be nice. Pushing the debut to next year would have been better, as it'd have made a great 18th birthday present for this series.

But, not holding my breath, given how the past two spin-offs fared.

Here's the thing. It's been 5...6 years since Chairgate and with Erica at the helm, at worst, maybe just a small easter egg. If not, then he's pretty much gone at this point. Would be nice to see him return, but you do have a point.

A friend did find a possible hint that Spencer will return to the BAU, but honestly, Matthew has said his peace. He wants to move on. The series finale gave that somehow.

Spinoffs, couldn't get into, sadly. :c And it sucks, because I love SSA Matt Simmons.

CM: Evolution Premiere Details

We have a release date! November 24th is when we see the team in action again. From the looks of it, they'll be breaking the 10 episode block in half.

Part A will launch 2 episodes on premiere day, with an episode weekly leading to mid-season finale in December.

Part B will air in January, finale in February.

Honestly, still feels too rushed and not polished enough. So far, it looks like possible easter eggs confirmed for Jason, Derek and Spencer?

Ooo nice to have a release date! I may tune in for at least the first episode just to see how they play off other characters not being there... And I'll admit I'm curious if it's going to be good or not

No new news currently. Only thing of note seems to be a possible hint at Reid making a return and the same old, same old regarding how his actor wants to move on.
