Hello hello again! It's the 5th annual Birthstone Item Prediction Thread! Don't mind me getting teary-eyed at 5 years already!

With 2025 just around the corner, the end of the year on Gaia always excites me for one reason and one reason only: the new birthstone items! Whether you love them or not, they have been a constant (and pretty much unisex) item to look forward to every month. Paws have also been included in the birthstone items, and Gaia Pledges give both bases something snazzy to jazz up their usernames!

Looks like we didn't have to wait long for this year's birthstone items to come out! Meet the new set of Brooches!! They are jewels are on a high layer and can be layered with other neckwear!

Old Birthstone Item Collections in spoiler
In 2021, for 10,000 gaia cash, the User ImageSuper Birthstone Collection was available for purchase in La Victoire! It contains every birthstone item from LV between 2007 and 2020 (does not include last year's halos).

Compared to the previously released User ImagePop Square Mega Birthstone Bundle that was available in 2018 in Cloud 9 for 3999, which included everything from 2007 to 2018 (crowns to scarves).

tab *Gaia used black pearls and now the Pearlescent scheme for June to distinguish from April's diamond. September uses blue sapphire, October used pink tourmaline and now the Opalescent scheme. November uses yellow topaz, and December uses (blue) turquoise.

What do you think 2025's birthstone item will be?

wait, so, i'm confused. don't they do all these items? or do they only do one item per month

One item gets recolored for each different month. For example, here's the mp search results for the Birthstone horns from this year.
Every year, the item is different, so we're just having fun predicting what next year's will be! And I cross my fingers that Gaia doesn't forget it....

I've love anything w/ backgrounds. Maybe like a frame or something. and then maybe some kind of make up kit! I like the lashes on the the Adamant Vault series (there are a bunch of recolors), so expanding on that would be cool!

Even after all these years, I think my fav birthstone series has been the crowns. I would be incredibly stoked if they remade them for the upcoming year, perhaps with gold metal instead of silver this time. I'd also love to see the capes remade, since the January cape used to be a staple of mine back in 2010.

Gaia probably won't do this in the name of tradition, but I'm dying to see them switch out the December birthstone for Tanzanite so the artists can use a more common shade of blue/indigo (namely ossidian). The turquoise they're using now is very difficult to use with modern schemes/items, and I'd love the chance actually wear my actual birthstone lol.

feels like were overdue for some wings tbh... but i always guess wrong so who knows! rofl im a september birthstone baby but i sometimes collect non-september birthstone items just bc theyre so pretty... esp january and june birthstones as the reds and pearl colours in those items tend to be really beautiful on gaia.

I'm a June but tend to pick up birthstone items based on colour/usefulness in my avis. I like January's red a lot for instance.
Echoing the hopes for bg item, maybe a dangly belt accessory would be nice, like a tabard.

I tend to consider lapis lazuli the ‘proper’ birthstone for December; but if I had to pick between the modern selection assembled by American jewelry conglomerates...I suppose I’d go for tanzanite. lol It’s a very lovely stone, and I’m kind of sad Gaia has stayed consistent to using turquoise instead. (I love actual turquoise stones—I just don’t vibe so much with the shade gaia uses. It’s quite neon.)

Not really, although I do try to pick up the ones I like. I don’t think I’ve bought any of the Horns this year...

The Haloes and Laurels were my favourite. If I had to pick a least favourite...probably the Anklets or Necklaces?

My money’s on wings or a crown of some description. I’d love it if they gave us a little make-up trousseau (a multi-pose item, with lipstick + eyeshadow + bejeweled eyelashes + possibly some fun brows, a la the star-shaped ones from the Whimsi Kin equip, if you know what I mean) but I highly doubt that little wish of mine will ever come true. lol

gaia_spoons Extra spoon—favourite birthstone, your own birth month excluded?
February’s amethyst, May’s emerald, and August’s peridot. IRL I’m very partial to pearls, also (thus to June) but my love for Pearlescent has been fading over time, I think. I still find the scheme super pretty, but I’m not really actively collecting it anymore. :~? Maybe because it’s so often on exclusives and thus difficult to get...hm.

Only on the years when I like the item. I purchased the horns this year. I missed out on the flair one year and someone was nice enough to donate it to me. Having a january bday, I have to be on top of these items lol.

i also missed out on the kitten star pin way back when - they were given away with the purchase of an irl pin and i didn't have that kind of money back then.

most favorite are the horns and the kitten star. least favorite is any of the crowns, and the halo was funky. i was hoping it would look like the angelic halo, but it didn't.

I don't want to see Gaiapledge/flairs again. We have two sets already (little gems and bunnies).
