How often do you change your avatar?
Approximatively I change looks every 3 weeks/ a month, I usually like to wear my designs for at least a while.
An exceptions of this rule is when I have a miniseries I want to show off on a semi rapid succession, like for October where I prepare a miniseries of 3-4 (amount varies depending on creativity) Halloween themed avis that I go trough for the entire month.
Another exception is when I feel absolutely bummed out and I have no drive on changing look for months.

What's the longest streak you've gone of not changing your avatar (on your main account)?
I have been here for a long time, so I had multiple occasions where I didn't change my look for months, but giving the exact amount is impossible.
The closest I can recall is a time where I wore the same look (minus occasional small additions) from fall 2014 till spring 2016.

What inspires you when creating an avatar?
Lots of things: a sudden flash of inspiration, a recent acquisition, an item combo I want to put into use, a theme I want to challenge myself with, simply brainstorming by shuffling trough the inventory, or just wanting to improve my avi making style.


What's your biggest challenge when creating an avatar?
Trying to mitigate in any way the inevitable Same Face Syndrome :V.
I mean, all my designs for the past few years have been almost exclusively been around my OC Daemon, and some of the items that makes his base look are pretty rigid, so it's kinda hard to give him a bigger variety of expressions sweatdrop .

Which avatar that you've made is your favorite?

I have several I'm proud of, those are probably the one I would consider my favourites:



Then again my other favourites are the ones I still have to make/show.

Is there anything you would add / change about gaia's avatar / item system?
Like the other said, improved organization and better search function would be most welcome.

every day to weekly. Who knows when i get the dressup bug, and no other dressup comes close.

I only have 1 account...my longest streak was 2 weeks. bc i made a banger.

a color scheme, a vibe, or checking the recolors of my fave items.

allow more layering.

Not that often anymore. Sometimes it's weekly, sometimes less.

what's the longest streak you've gone of not changing your avatar (on your main account)?
it might've been a few weeks when I wore my pirate avatar for a while, and went around talking like one. It was pretty fun.

what inspires you when creating an avatar?
My avi building process is pretty much just trying to put on as much as possible to make a crunchy type texture, very pixelated, and refine it to look cohesive and somewhat visually put together. I rarely look for inspiration, instead I just sit in dress up and click around on my items randomly.

what's your biggest challenge when creating an avatar?
Trimming it down to form a shape and not look totally random. Also keeping it at 100 items, sometimes I find things to put on that removes others, and I wish we could have a higher cap on how much we could equip.

which avatar that you've made is your favorite?
It's always so difficult to pick just one, but I guess if it had to be one..(animated version for y'alls entertainment)

is there anything you would add / change about gaia's avatar / item system?
Maybe a way to mess with the layering system. I doubt that would be feasible, but imagine the possibilities! Also if we could add a colour changing feature to where we could just do an overlay and change our avatars colours. Almost like when you use paint and invert colours, or mess with the hue/saturation.

how often do you change your avatar?
Depends on my activity here and if there are any new paw items.
I certainly tend to change my avi on Fridays, when we get our new recolor (and maybe new usermades)
I rarely change it much outside of Fridays I think?
I'm a bit more active again recently tho, but there are weeks where I go several days without changing.

what's the longest streak you've gone of not changing your avatar (on your main account)?
honestly Idk.
might be one or two months? I did take a break once, but that's been a while ago and I didn't pay attention to the numbers.

what inspires you when creating an avatar?
Usually new items/recolors.
Sometimes me and my friends match our avis up for a bit.

what's your biggest challenge when creating an avatar?
Lack of certain color/item types for paws.
I love masculine things and sci-fi, and we really lack in sci-fi stuff.
A problem I have on my human mule too btw. There haven't been new nice sci-fi items in forever.
And speaking of my mule, it is generally a challenge to do a certain type of masculine avis.
It's rough if you don't want to be too thin or too buff... my dude is well-built, but not in the bara spectrum.
And the things we get that ARE in between are often items that don't match my avis' theme.

Idk, I change my avi usually weekly and don't often look back to my older ones.

Eh. I think I'm fine with how it is.
See, I'm not online and active for hours anymore, so I guess many things don't bother me as much as they do for others.
I just wish there were more new paw items/recolors tbh.
And more masculine adventurous/sci-fi items that aren't ridiculously buff or noodles.
