Story Summary:
Years after the people of Earth developed the first sirens, their race was thriving. Humanity was worried for the fate of the Earth, however, when one of the sirens was reborn after death and was able to speak to her kin. Humanity, after discovering that sirens were worshiping one of their now many own gods, was outraged. Nations began to divide, attacking and capturing many cities of the Mer to convert and enslave them into a new religion, forcing them to abandon their first and foremost god.
Meanwhile, the Children of the Sky have been encountering their own troubles, with the turmoil raging on the Earth. Their peace contract with the Sirens has been faltering, many of the cities battling against an already hindered race, and fighting the humans along with them, who have turned hostile.
Among them, priests and priestesses, pastors and reverends, and all manner of those who could sense the religious outbreak have been in panic. There were too many muddled signs, many of them foretelling of good and many foretelling of evil. Even the gods are in chaos, petty squabbles on the breaking point. Yet, the races will not falter. Those who wish for peace will fight to bring it, and those who connive evil thoughts will stop at nothing to throw other races into turmoil.

I can feel the waves moving over my skin. They ripple softly, the tides already beginning to change so early in the year. Something's wrong, I think.

The moon shines brightly onto my tower. No others live within my tower, except for the many fish who swim nearby. All breeds of rays swim overhead, their wings floating through the midnight waters and reflecting shadows upon the ocean floor.

I look down. Is there a single creature on this earth, an inhabitant of land, sea, or air, that knows what could befall us in the next century?
I reach up, grasping the shell strung on the cord that I've wrapped carefully around my neck. A family heirloom, passed to me from my mother, and to her from her mother. It glows a deep blue, just as my tail does in the moonlight.

She'd be proud to see the kingdom that I live in, the royalty that I attend to, and the god that I act as messenger for. A priestess, I am, one that will soon reveal the prophecy of Acciona unto the waters of Earth.
My deep blue hair settles, brushing lightly against my back before billowing up once again. I push it back, clenching my hands into fists before I send out the final call for all to return to the city. My voice is soft, yet my call will spread 100 yards in each direction, calling anyone back who may lie just outside the city limits.
I fear for their safety this night. I fear for the times yet to come. I fear that the sun may never again rest upon this city, if the prophecies are not fulfilled. And most of all, I fear that Acciona will not speak her word, that her abandonment may be imminent.
