A Kingdom of darkness, lit by torches of light blue... paved with black onyx, and ruled by a mysterious king who has never shown his face...
Welcome, stranger, to our world. It's bleak and cold, and nearly barren... but black magic keeps the forest growing... It's dark, like night, no matter what time of day it may be, and our king seems taken by illness.
But we, the strong people of our kingdom, 'Erasade', continue on. Life to us is not a living hell, but more of a challenge that can be overcome if we work hard enough. Occasionally demons ransack our villages, but we pick up the pieces and re-build what we can. There is rumor traveling, however, that our king has been tainted with hellfire, and is planning on summoning the devil himself to our kingdom... That would not bod well for us, or for you either...
So who are you, dear stranger? I say, I'm not familiar with your face... Perhaps I'm just an old man going senile... So please, tell me your name?
This world is medieval-like. Weapons cannot be firearms of any type, nor magic cannon blasts. Only spellcasters can use magic, so keep that in mind. And those spellcasters are usually captured using tools that are made to stop the very magic that they use. Don't think you can escape once trapped... You'll just have to see what becomes of you. To prevent this kind of unfortunate thing from happening, if you are indeed a spellcaster, it's best not to flaunt your power about. Use it sparingly, only when you absolutely need to. Don't let anyone find out, lest you be taken to the castle...
So here's the question Who are you and what is your purpose? Are you a villager fed up with the king? Are you just passing by? Perhaps you are a knight and question what motives your great king has? Or are you a hero sent to protect the people, confront our king about his motives, and lift this curse from us?
You are free to choose your own character in this guild. You may create a character of your own out of the materials provided in the forum. There is a catch here in this story...
There is a Pillar of Hope, A deceiver and traitor, and a Shadow of Destruction. Each of these three titles will be given out once we begin this story, and they should be kept secret until the time is right to reveal who you are. The rest, who do not receive a title, are warriors of their own truths. They can stand for good, evil, or neutral. Whichever you prefer. They must be wary of the other three... When I send you a message of your title (If you make one of the three), I will explain more in-detail about what your responsibilities are. You may choose to follow that pathway, or decline it.
There is no narrator in this story, but there are writers, and you are one of them. Please write in THIRD PERSON. An example of third person would be "Kavvana walked through the forest, tired and exhausted from the battle of the Kings. A pain hit his chest and he recoiled, supporting himself with the trunk of a nearby tree. It was only a matter of time before he was dragged into the underworld, but he at least wanted to make it home and see the smiling face of his loved one before he left."
Please do not write in first person or second person. An example of first person is "And as I watched him bleed, I felt a great wave of satisfaction envelope me. Finally, after all this time, I had managed to land a blow upon the mighty Micheal. And now, in my hands, this forlorn creature was dying..."
An example of second person (which is not commonly used in writing anyways) is "You walk through the hallway, flinching at every creak and moving shadow. You fear that he might be behind one of those doors, waiting to jump on you and drive his searing knife right into your pale flesh as he laughs... You push open the door and are met with darkness, which fills you to the brim with ominous emotions. You can't help but wonder why you came to this place..."

The entry fee to this guild is 500g. The reason their is an entry fee is because of all the subforums we will require for the different sections in this story. It helps keeps things more organized, and it will be easier for you to figure out where you would like to go. If you do not have the money, merely start commenting on people's profiles (You are welcome to comment on mine), head to the chatter box, send a few PM's (even if they have to be to yourself), vote on polls in the forums, and comment in people's journals (again, you're welcome to comment in mine).
