Hey I'm back! What a year it's been! Moved three times, had a baby, and other craziness making things so out there I kind of dropped off the face of the planet for a while. But never fear! I'm back, and better than ever!

Oh, you are such a wonderful spinner!
I hope that I can get that good someday!
And now I want to try silk. emo

The handkerchiefs are cute as well!

Thanks! It's taken practice to get that consistent. So just keep spinning, you'll get there. smile I was able to get a good deal on silk cocoons and silk noil through paradise fibers (http://www.paradisefibers.net/). That's the place I usually go through for my fiber, unless I'm getting handdyed, then it's a place like Corgi Hill Farm on etsy. ^_^ But anyhoo, they have good deals on stuff, especially since they offer quantity discounts. I'll usually buy a lot of stuff at once so I get a good deal and I'm occupied for a while too.

I am using some Jacob's Sheep (?) right now to practice with but I am certainly trying! 3nodding
I have just started about twelve days ago and I have been a bit busy recently so I have really not had time to do much. sweatdrop

Ten minutes a day for a month and you'll build up muscle memory, which is a lot of what spinning is. Are you on ravelry? If you are, there are some great groups on there that are geared towards helping out new spinners, such as spindlers, and beginning spinners (I'm a member of both so I can verify this 4laugh ). Also, if you don't have it I suggest picking up Respect the Spindle and Teach Yourself Visually Handspinning, those are both good books that I own and love. smile

I will try that, and useful information about the muscle memory.
I am not on Ravelry but I am going to go join now!
Oh, I will try to get ahold of one or both.
Thank you very much!

Thanks! The fiber is from Corgi Hill Farm on Etsy. Normally, her fiber is excellent, but I was also reading that bamboo can be hard to draft, so maybe that's the issue I'm having? Regardless, it's not messing up my hands hard, it's just picky. So I'm willing to finish instead of throwing it away. 3nodding

The Mermaid's Tear is beautiful! What do you plan to make from it once you're done spinning it? It would make a lovely sweater or shawl...

Unfortunately I don't have enough for either. It was four oz, but the way I'm spinning it it's about a dk weight once it's all done. I made one mobieus cowl (let me dig it up and I'll post pics of it) with some of it, I'll have to see what kind of yardage I have once it's finished before settling on what to make with the rest.

OK, so I did upload the pic of the cowl online, but not to photobucket apparently. Let's see if Gaia likes flickr more than the last time I tried this: Mermaid's Tear mobieus cowl
