Amidst all the chaos of a newly reforming region, Roland Karloseth takes a break from his work and begins wandering around the ruins of the old capitol city of the newly named Verrus region. Eventually, he comes across a dusty old couch laying on it's back and smiles. He recognizes the couch, of course. It belonged in the old lounge, the place where everyone used to hang out and talk back in the old days. Roland flips the couch over and sits on it, not caring about the dirt getting all over his clothes. Such a comfortable couch... just as he remembered it being. He sits for about half an hour, reminiscing about the old times. Some were good, some were bad, but at least there was never a dull moment.
Eventually, Roland stands back up and grabs one end of the couch and begins dragging it to the new location for the lounge. Once he finally gets it there, he brushes as much of the dirt off of it as he can, and mutters something about needing to clean it better before all is said and done. Once it was relatively clean, he lays down on the couch and smiles again. He has plans for this place. Looking around, he can almost see the people he knew milling around, talking, battling... having a good time.Sometime in the midst of all this reminiscing and planning for the future, Roland falls asleep.

Well guys, this is the new hangout thread. Since the guild is going to be taking more of an RP favoring turn, I felt it only fitting to post the opening post in character. I must point out, however, that RPing is not required to post here. This is just the hangout thread, after all. It is fun, however, as it adds character to the guild in general, and RPing is always encouraged. And as always, have a good time! |

Revisiting. Yes, that's what he was doing. He was revisiting the region in which he knew so well, the utopia that he may have once called a home. Glancing around himself, Kaito thought, "It sure has changed, if anything." As he walked closer towards the newly refurbished and new found land of what once was, Kaito got a glance of a familiar figure, a familiar face, out of the corner of his eye.
Double-checking himself, Kaito turned around to see the face whom he had thought he had seen. The face of a familiar friend, an acquaintance, Roland Karloseth. Kaito let a small smile become visible on his face, as he approaches, to get a better glance of the character. As he stepped forward, he only stopped to see that his friend Roland was asleep. Kaito looked at the couch that his friend was sleeping on. It didn't seem new, but it didn't seem old. It seemed reminiscent of something he had once known before, something that brought memories back to him. Kaito took a seat on the floor by the couch, and sat, with his legs crossed, patiently waiting. Waiting with closed eyes and a reminiscent smile on his face.
Truly skilled Trainers should try to win...

Suddenly Roland was awoken by the sound of a familiar voice, although no one else could hear it. He laid still and listened to the voice as it played through his headset. "Roland. Sensors indicate the presence of another life form in the immediate area. Life form readings determine that the presence is human, and does not seem to be a threat at this point and time. Scans also indicate the presence of pokemon aside from your own, although they are at this current time safely within their pokeballs. Probability of the newcomer to the party being another trainer is ninety-five percent. Probability of it being a familiar face is seventy-five percent. Probability of you being too easy to sneak up on is one hundred percent. On that note, is their anything you would like me to save as future reference for your epitaph? I personally recommend 'Here lies Roland. Died because Blaze got tired of babysitting him' as a good fallback."
He rolled his eyes at this, even though he was used to it by now. He had designed her ("It" fit better, seeing as how Blaze was simply an AI construct Roland had designed a long time ago) to be very sarcastic and witty, mainly because Roland enjoyed the banter opportunities two sarcastic entities often got. Eventually, he decided to sit up and greet the newcomer, only to see that it was indeed a familiar face. "Ah, Kaito. It's been quite a while, my friend. How have you been?"

With his eyes closed, contemplation was running through Kaito's mind. What had called him back to this place??? It was clearly the same location, but it had a new and... Different appearance and feel to it. What could have brought this faithful place back from its knees to its feet??? So many questions, so little time. Kaito took a breath, and continued thinking to himself. "It's interesting... How this place has developed. How it has changed and grown." His thoughts were interrupted by a voice to his immediate left. Far from displeased, he opened his mouth to speak, but stopped to remember his position. It certainly wasn't very couth to be the one looking up at Roland, from his current sitting position. Kaito uncrossed his legs, and rose from his make-shift seat, or rather, from the empty floor. Leaning backwards onto nothing, casually as always, he began to speak. "Indeed it has been, Roland." he began, still somewhat reminiscing. "I've been doing decently," a neutral response, as always, "it's all been fine, rather anticlimactic and unexciting, but fine." Kaito paused, before carrying on. His train of thought left him to contemplate a moment before speaking. "And yourself???"
