Well I'm actually an artist *though not pro* who loves music of all sorts although most of the time I listen to classical piano and orchestra type music. My favourite pianist is Yiruma and I love DEPAPEPE sweatdrop Although I'm not a huge fan of the old school classical music, I still like it so I joined this biggrin

Wow, I'm nothing compared to all of you. ;o

Anyways, I'm Shoku [not real name], and my primary instrument is the piano. I've been taking private lessons from one of the best schools on island for about ten years, and I'm still going. I'm the [only] oboist for my high school's concert band, I'm the drum major for my high school's marching band, and I play the flute in the Hawaii All-State Marching Band, which is due to perform in Pasadena this coming Christmas.

For a long while, I lost my interest in classical music [I'd say from seventh to nineth grade year?], but found my passion for it my sophomore year. Now, I play nothing but classical music in my piano class. I've learned that I don't progress much at all playing contemporary music. As of now, I have no favorite composers because I haven't studied enough to have a favorite.

Hey everyone. My name is Aiyana (I-ya-na). I'm a 15 year old Chinese girl who has played the (classical) piano for 10 years. I live for classical music. Unlike most teenagers, it's what I listen to 85% of the time. I am in love with Chopin and Lizst; they are so passionate and romantic! (Well...more Lizst than Chopin, but still...) I am currently the pianist in my school orchestra and plan to stay there for all 4 years (I'm a freshman.) When I go to college, I am definetely going for a degree in music. (San Francisco Conservatory of Music? Not Julliard...I'm not good enough yet.)

Hi, I was pretty shocked when I got an invite to this guild. And no, I don't play any instruments of that sort. I wished I did but oh well. I just looooooooooooove classical music not like a hardcore music fan. So anway just saying hi and thanks for letting me be in such a cool guild.

Just call me Sand or some derivative of my username here. I'm a pianist with no formal background whatsoever (wheee 8D), looking to improve on my mostly self-taught skills. Still working on seeking out a teacher, and expanding my rather small repertoire xp

Also something of a classical nut. Some of my favorite composers are Beethoven, Vivaldi, Rachmaninoff and Liszt :3

I play classical piano, though I'm starting to get an itch to try out jazz (shhh don't tel my teacher sweatdrop ) I've been playing since a little kid but it's taken nearly 15 years for it to occur to me that music is my life. I'm still on the fence on what to do, but leaning more towards education.

Hello Guildies~

I am Escargot, and I play the flutes. As in more than one.

I play western flute - mostly classical, but I dabble in jazz too. I've been playing for about 15 years, and I'll be going to grad school in the fall for Flute Performance. I love playing in orchestras, but I also do a lot of solo and chamber music. And I teach.

I play dizi, which is a traditional Chinese flute (there is a picture in my siggie). I've been playing it for eight years. I have experience playing in a Chinese orchestra, as well as solo. I teach it too.

I also play pennywhistle, though not as extensively as I used to - I played in an Irish fiddle group for a number of years when I was younger.

Hey everyone!
I'm Tarryn, and I play the piano and guitar.

I've been playing the piano for a few years. Long story short, I almost gave up, and was a failing Grade 1 after four years of playing it... (yes, I really was that bad!). Then I got an amazing new teacher, and shot up to Grade 5 ability in under a year. Since she went off for a while, my new teacher told me the other day that I could play Grade 8 if I wanted.

I've never done any grades despite this, I've always done the music I'm into, and that's the only reason I'm loving playing today.

Since five months ago, I've been teaching myself to play guitar, only recently deciding to get a teacher and in that time, it seemed to be going amazingly :3

I play in the school concert band, which cleaned up all of the awards at the county music festival about a month ago, and I also may be joing the jazz band.

Hello, you can call me Suki...
I play the piano, flute, and I also sing. I sing for my own enjoyment so I'm not a classically trained singer.
My primary instrument is the piano. I've taken lessons for six to six and a half years. I started flute about the same time but have had maybe four and a half years of training on it. Well, I love piano and don't what else I would pursue in college besides it. Unfortunately my two former teachers, which I do love, just didn't start me out with the foundation I needed-- theory. So now I've just completed my junior year of high school and am really just getting into the theory I should have known years ago but I'm pretty determined to catch up completely over the summer.
I'm still not sure if I'll go into piano performance or go into education...I know I'll have to teach at first if I want to be able to eat but I don't want to teach public school very badly and a performance major probably wouldn't have trouble getting private students.
