"Okay Nightrunner." Daypaw picked up her mouse and squirrel, trying not to trip over the squirrel's tail since her legs were still so short. She and her mentor made their way into the camp in time to see the ending of a ceremony. It appeared that Tulipkit was finally a 'paw'. Dropping her prey in the fresh-kill pile, Daypaw made her way excitedly to Tulippaw. "Congrats Tulippaw, now you'll be sleeping the Apprentices' Den with me!" She licked the smaller she-cat between the ears before new apprentice could protest.
"Thanks Daypaw. Oh guess what! Autumnstar is my mentor!" tulippaw couldn't hold in the information any longer and was satisfied with the way the older apprentice looked from her, to Autumnstar, and back to her. Turning to Winternight, Daypaw asked, awestruck, if it was true.

Nightrunner wandered to the corner that he usually stayed in, watching the other cats.

"Maybe tomorrow we can go out together an hunt with our mentors!" Daypaw said breathlessly as she scanned the clearing for her mentor. She found him in a corner, by himself. "Can we hunt together tomorrow, Nightrunner? Huh? Please!"
To her mentor, Tulippaw asked the same thing. "Yeah, can we hunt together tomorrow?" She really wanted to hunt with her new denmate.

Nightrunner nods then lies down, still watching the whole clan, quiet and reserved as always.

Autumnstar smiled at her apprentice's excitement, "of course, i will let you hunt while i show you the boundaries" she mewed gazing happily at the little kit

Both of the she-cats gave yips of excitement at the promise of tomorrow. "C'on Tulippaw, I'll show you where you can sleep in the Apprentices' Den." The two she-cats padded over to the den, talking to each other animately about she-cat things.

Autumnstar watched the apprentice's walk away and with a smile upon her face she sat beside Nightrunner, "how was her hunting, Nightrunner" she asked him her gaze soft but her tone serious

Winternight watched her kit walk away and she scuffled her paws, was it time for her to move back into the warrior den? she didn't know so she just lay in the fading afternoon sunlight

Nightrunner gently nuzzles his old mentors side. "she is a superb hunter. she picks up the skills well. i think her training may be shorter than most"

Autumnstar nodded, "i should hope" she said curling her tail around her paws, "is there something you wish to tell me Nightrunner?" she mewed turning her bright green gaze on the black cat

Nightrunner nods and softly flicks his tail. "im in love with her....i want her to be my mate"

Autumnstar smiled, "thats wonderful NIghtrunner, and its about time to" she said flicking him lightly with her tail, "just be sure to wait for her to be a warrior first, although im sure under your training it wont be long" she purred

Nightrunner nods and watches as she goes into the apprentice den. "but what if she doesnt feel the same about me?"

Autumnstars smile faltered, "i suppose you will just have to wait and see, but im sure she does, ive seen the way she looks at you" she said her smile returning

Nightrunner nods, getting up and padding to the center of the compound, looking at the sky.
