ENDLESS JOURNEYS (O/A)

Keleth giggled and finished the last of the loops in Ruby's hair. She stood up and clapped her hands together with satisfaction.

"And there you go!"

She then helped Ruby off of the table before shooting her arms out like a sales person. to display her work.

"Soooo, what do Mom and Dad think?"

The braid was certainly the type that you would see in children's stories illustration. It actually utilized five inter-weaved locks.

Ruby took the chance to twirl around happily. Nova looked at the both of them with Lexi behind her. He grabbed his own braid and looked at it. Then at Ruby and back and forth.

"Well you've certainly done an incredible job. A lot better than her mom over here." Nova commented before receiving a slap on the back of the head. " It is very well done." Lexi responded and gave the sitting Nova a hug while she stood.

The dragon-kin child smiled brightly and jumped Keleth to give her a hug.

"You're the best!" She exclaimed."Wanna fight?!" She said just as happily.

"Ruby......" Her mother responded.

"Won't take long mommy! I swear!" The child chirped back.

"Only if she wants to."

Keleth had never tussled with a younger dragon-kin before, but she figured there was no harm in it.

"Sure, I would love to see how strong you are. But, let's head out back so that we don't mess up the house, 'kay?" she piped.

She stood aside and swept her hand to allow the little scrapper through.

"Lead the way, Little Gem."

"Nihiii.." Ruby grinned and dashed out. As soon as she got out she hid and waited for Keleth to show up so she could ambush her.

Nova sighed." And she has just gotten that braid too."

"She'll be fine. She fights me every single day. She's used to bigger opponents."

"Huh...didn't think you'd be the type to do that." Nova responded.

"Well I have too much energy when you're not around. So I am counting on you help me vent tonight." Lexi said a bit firm but it was clear what she was hinting at.

"I suppose I had that coming."

Lexi let go of her husband and looked at Trinity.

"You. If you're going to stay here for the night with the rest then you're going to help me prepare dinner. Understand?"  

[Kerana]

Rikki Tikki Travi

Alec blushed and grinned sheepishly as everyone voiced their opinions. Confidence or no, he was still very shy.

He rubbed his arm nervously before he finally looked at Kerana and nodded.

"A braid will be just fine."

Kerana gathered Alec's hair then separated it into 3 parts, gathering as much as his bangs into it to reveal his eyes more. She gave him a french braid as far down as his hair will go. She then tied it off with an extra hair tie she happened to have.

"There all done."

Alec reached back and felt the new braid. His hands rested on the hair tie that he figured had come from Kerana. He blushed slightly as he realized that he had something of a keepsake from her.

He turned around and smiled. He then chuckled, "Everything is so much brighter now, without those curtains."

cat_3nodding "Is that so?" Kerana giggled a little. "Now you can better see what you've been missing" cat_wink She thought the braid was a good new look for him. Plus he didn't lose the hair that took so long to grow out. Baby steps.

Lexi let go of her husband and looked at Trinity.

"You. If you're going to stay here for the night with the rest then you're going to help me prepare dinner. Understand?"

Trinity was leaning against the wall as she observed Ruby asking Keleth to fight. It kind of reminded her of herself when she was her age, but with very different circumstances, for she was not eager to fight but to defend herself. She looked up as Lexi addressed her and merely responded,"Understood." Trinity wasn't an expert at cooking but knew enough to at least make something edible. Though she would admit she wasn't expecting to stay the night and thought they'd be passing through. But she wanted Nova to call the shot. This was his final visit with his family. She hoped the man wouldn't be tempted to stay too long.

"Nihiii.." Ruby grinned and dashed out. As soon as she got out she hid and waited for Keleth to show up so she could ambush her.

Keleth laughed out loud at Ruby's energetic squeal and ran out after her.

It took her a moment to realize that Ruby was hiding from her. Keleth grinned and lowered her silhouette. She had always wanted a little sister, so this was a special moment for the young dragon-kin.

She could smell Ruby's general direction, but she decided to give the little one her moment...this time.

"Ruuubyyyyy. I'm gonna fiiiind yoooou." she sang.

Ruby didn't respond. Playing and fighting were the same for her. She had a lot of fun but would always be serious during it. The little dragoness had been playing with her mom a lot so she was used to bigger opponents. The behind she lunged at Keleth. She wasn't going for the body. No she was going for the legs.

Lexi and Trinity entered the kitchen area. She closed the door after them.

"We're in charge of making a portion of the salads for the feast." Lexi said as she grabbed a large bowl of fruit and vegetables. She then grabbed a knife and started cutting them into large chunks.

"So.....you're the woman he left us behind for. The one he felt the need to guide."Lexi said as she was cutting

"And now I am preparing a feast to his return with the reason of his departure. And after that I need to start planning the funeral."

Keleth heard the quick scamper of the girl and turned her head just in time to see the kid go for her legs. She allowed Ruby to hit her knees, but she used the momentum to fall down fast and hard so she could attempt a head lock on the young dragon-kin.

"Hah! Imma getcha!" she playfully taunted . Unlike Ruby, Keleth rarely ever took a fight seriously. Just as before, she was still smiling.

"So.....you're the woman he left us behind for. The one he felt the need to guide."Lexi said as she was cutting

"Look I did not ask for this!" she snapped. She took a deep breath, "Sorry. But, what do you expect me to say? Nothing I say or do can change things now. I used to not believe in destiny or prophecies or whatever. I used to think that I was able live my own life and not have anything predetermined. "

"Yet here I am. Long story short the gods are determined to ensure I save this land from darkness. Even at the cost of your heart's life. The only thing I could promise you is if I can I will bring his body back."

Without skipping a beat Lexi answered.

"You already did"
