Yuki blinked, staring at him in surprise at the abruptness of his question. She shook her head, then bowed it slightly. "I-I, um..." she began slowly, but couldn't think of a real response. She fell silent for a moment, gaze dropped back upon the grass as she considered the question to herself. Then she sighed and glanced back up at him, eyes once more settling upon his chest. "B-because," she said weakly. "I'm just... scared." She bowed her head further, almost as if ashamed of herself. She knew she really had no need to be frightened, yet she could not help it. That was how she felt, and she found no reason, other than her own embarassment, to keep from responding honestly. Her tail wrapped a bit more firmly around her waist, arms still hugging her knees to her chest.

Yuri had not expected the response he had received and he raised a brow at it, he did not even hold that as an option. He thought he might say something about it, yet for some reason beyond his own comprehension he did not, and he felt that he would not have no matter who it was. Though he did want to know why, he didn't think he'd tell her not to e, it's hard to control things like that, but there's always a reason for them...right? "Could you tell me why?" and then another thought dawned on him "and exactly what part scares you?" He hoped the response he received for this would be understandable, though the fact that she was scared was already so out of the ordinary to him that what would come out could make no sense at all. He let no part of his body show the emotions though, and kept the sentimental, soft look on his face that he'd put on so as not to look intimidating...

Yuki waited for the laugh or joke at her expense, but nothing came. She slowly opened the eyes she'd shut as she braced herself for the jeers she'd expected to come and gazed at him a moment, this time her eyes settling upon his hair. She bit her lip nervously as he finally did speak, hearing the questions and again taking a moment to figure out an answer.

Her head bowed slightly again as she thought to herself, and she kept her eyes on the grass as she hesitantly and faintly replied. "B-because," she said again. "I'm not... good with people." She sighed, knowing that probably wasn't a very good excuse, but she had no other to give. "Everything a-about them just sets me on edge..." she added quietly, finger absently twirling a blade of grass. This served as another distraction from her anxiety.

Asriel's attention was now focused on the burning tree with the ebony flames. He couldn't help but stare at it's misplacment within the courtyard. It annoyed him to a rather big extent, noticing how the flames slowly started to spread.

Again he stood up, and carried his things with him towards the two talking, more concerned about the black flames than the two themselves. But he didn't see why he couldn't meet new friends in the process.

As he approached them, first eyeing the girl and then towards the male. "Those flames..." He said in sort of interested tone, knowing completely he was interupting their conversation. "Did you make them?" He glanced at the flames as he said it but turned back to the male. His voice seemed rather mature, making it easy to tell he wasn't a teenager like most students at Ria high. Up close you could see a five 'oclock shadow starting to grow. His silver hair moved with the slight breeze there was in courtyard. He wore a long sleeved black shirt with a collar with all the buttons undone and a pair of dark blue pants with it.

Upon her eyes moving to his hair, well that was a bit better than what she had been able to do, and in hearing her response he smiled again. Now this he understood. People were stupid, he'd learned that from staying away from them, and one thing he knew about people was that if you weren't careful they could do some real harm to you. So, yeah...he understood this part, it was a relief for him to understand and he was happy about it, though he still did not change his expression more than a slight curve of the lips. "Yeah, people can be scary....you just have to watch'em. Listen...and watch....and learn." Those three words were what most of his life had revolved around, they were what he had built himself upon, and he only knew as much as he did because of the way that he lived his life, the way that his life was put under his thumb. People...they let their lives live them, Yuri....he liked to think he lived his own life...if he never learned from life itself, maybe life might learn from him...

Yuki listened to Yuri's words and slowly nodded her head as her eyes raised to stare just past the right side of his head, not focusing upon anything in particular. "Y-yes, I suppose you right," she murmured softly, then paused to consider his words further.

Then she jumped slightly as she realized someone else was approaching, her ears catching the faint sound of his footsteps rustling the grass. She blinked up at him nervously, face flushing red almost instantly and for no reason at all. Though, as she noted his unbuttoned shirt, it only darkened a few shades.

She soon after realized he was the male who'd been seated upon the bench reading just a few minutes before. She noted he was even older than Yuri, and suddenly felt very young herself, being only sixteen. As she'd looked him over, her hands had paused their twirling of the grass as she listened instead to his words. Then her eyes went to Yuri, his shoulder this time, as she waited to hear his response.

Yuri hadn't noticed the male at first, and it took him until the man had come up to him and asked him a question for him to notice. He was still only receiving the thoughts of the male at first and whenever he had let his brain pay attetnion to what his eyes saw he noticed that Yuki was moving her eyes back to him, his shoulder, which meant they were far away in the first place. He listened instead of to words, now all thoughts and then finally he only listened to what words might come in response to what he was going to say. He barely caught wat the man had said through listening to his and the young girl's houghts and once he did the answer was abrupt, for he was answering as if he had not just sat there for as long as he had. "Yes...those are mine...it's my tree now, I suppose that's why I set it to fire, do they bother you?" he did not turn, he only spok the words in response, and he appreciated that the girl in front of him was still attempting to meet his eyes, and he did not want to turn them for the chance that that might happen without him seeing. He said something once more before giving a chance for a reply, it was abrupt as was the first response. "Or is it that they intimidate you?" with that there was only one option left, and he'd ruled that one out, for coming up on him like that was not very inciting and would not set for a very good entrance if it were for that particular reason...

He arched an eyebrow at the last response the male gave. He couldn't stand how conceited the male was, which annoyed him more. Although Asriel could tell he was a bit more than a normal type of, whatever he was. He could feel his mind being sort of probed as he approached them, he felt it before, but figured it was just from reading too much. He tried his best to keep it from being intruded. "No, I was just interested about what was so uniqe about them other than their color."

He of course didn't care at all, he was just trying to make new friends even though he was probably older than most of them. "Fire isn't very intimidating...Well not to me at least." He stated boldly.

Yuki tilted her head slightly, waiting a moment for Yuri's response, which seemed delayed in its coming. But as he finally did reply, her eyes flicked towards the older male's neck, as she paused a moment to see what he'd do.

Soon after though, she heard Yuri's next question, this time directed at her again. She turned back to face him, blinking once more in surprise at how abruptly he asked yet again. She faltered for a moment, then slowly nodded her head. "...yes," she said softly, eyes dropping back to the ground. "Th-that is another reason, I guess..." She hugged her knees to her chest again, her eyes now settled determindly upon Yuri's cheek.

Her glance flicked back to the other male after a moment, her head slightly tilted as she stared at his hair, but still avoided his eyes as well. "Um, m-my name's Yukiko Hiragashi," she murmured, knowing the first step to meeting people was to introduce yourself. That was right... wasn't it? "B-but everyone calls me Yuki," she added with an embarassed nod, face still red.

Yuri had now only been listening to he words spoken, for the mere reason that he might get lost in the conversaton, so he only had what he'd gathered so far about the both of them to go on...and earlier he felt some sort of dislike coming from the man, though that was breif and he did not continue to pay attention after that. "Well...okay then, I can understand that. My Black Flame only is harmful when created with that thought.....and they are only harmful to wht I feel they need to be. they spread when I want them to, and stop when I don't." He did not even bother with paying note to the second part of the person's speaking, for he was in the middle of something, was bing interrupted, and now he felt eyes that looked down upon he way he acted, had he cared enough he might say something about it, yet now he did not want to, and he knew the feelings were false anyway....so he kept quiet again. He might even begin to ignore the person if they continued to ignore the girl in front of him, for he was not in the mood for mockery, nor people working on impulse. "I'm sorry if i do Yuki....I do not mean to" he replied, all his attention still mostly focused on her

Asriel laughed a bit at Yuki's shyness, giving a small chuckle. "Nice to meet you Yuki. My name is Asriel Icygo." He said, turning his attention to her. He couldn't help but notice her hair and the color of it. Perhaps it had to deal with her powers or maybe she was of the same heritage as Asriel. He'd never seen anyone else with the same color hair as him, natually that is.

He nodded in fake interest of the male's fire. "Oh, I see." He really didn't like him now. Perhaps they just got off the wrong foot. Things would probably change.

Things like this usually did change. Yuri, now seeing that he had not only directed his attention on him despite the ever so obvious attention that he had been recieving from Yuki, felt a little less ready to ignore him, though he did not seem to have much of an ability to multi task, he did not mind. the only thing that would continue to drive the mapart, if anything did at all, would be the refracted impression he had of Yuri. He felt it like a bird feels the eyes of a predator watching them...it was sad really.

Yuki bit her lip nervously, looking between the two males for a moment. Then her gaze paused upon Yuri as he spoke. "N-no!" she replied hastily. "You're not at all!" She shook her head quickly, not wanting to make him feel at all guilty, or anything similar to that.

Then she turned back towards the other male as he laughed, tilting her head curiously but her face remaining red. "N-nice to meet you," she murmured. She shied away slightly as he continued watching her, bowing her head very slightly but continuing to watch him from the corner of her eye. She blinked at the slight hostility she caught in his voice as he replied back to Yuri, wondering why it was there. They hadn't known each other long enough to dislike each other, had they?
