More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Dr. Berchant literally gulped at Shane's and Annie's words. The pistol in his hand he still held shook before he took a deep breath and sat the pistol on the ground. All the pistol would serve is to anger the two in front of him. "Come on, Annabella, you cannot be serious about wanting to hurt the father of your child," Dr. Berchant said laughing nervously.

Annie gave him an incredulous look that said it all: yes, yes she did want to hurt him.

"Right..." he muttered. His blue eyes darting between the two he demanded, "What is it you two want from me?"

"Let's start with just that, what we want. It would take me weeks to find someone to consume with the access to walk in and out of Daedalus HQ. You guys stay pretty tight lipped about your employ considering you are backed by the government. We need to get in there, and you're going to help us. Unless you like the idea of being a quadriplegic? It's hard to do research when you don't have arms and legs."

She shift gears, dropped through her shadow and emerged from Kodak's shadow. "Good Afternoon Kodak. I need you to look up something for me."

Kodak had been taking a sip from his drink when Trinity popped in. He takes a hard swallow and coughs. Soda squirts out from his nose as he tries to catch his breath. After a few minutes he is finally able to speak.

"Y'know ma'am, there isn't anyone stopping you from using doors on occasion. What can I find for you?"

"Sorry Kodak. At times, the quicker I get answers the quicker I can save lives." she brought up a couple of addresses on her smart phone. "Are you able to access security cameras outside of Valhalla? I need access to a security camera of last night at the front desk at the hotel here and here at a diner where Shane had attacked earlier. He mentioned it was out of his control and knowing the media they'd only show the part where he killed people. Brace yourself though, it ain't pretty."

She is one of the most wanted metahumans out there besides you, Shane Morris, the only reason we hadn't gone after her is we knew she'd come walking back to Daedalus sooner or later, willingly."

Thoughtfully, Dr. Berchant added, "You two compliment each other well... I was thinking of seeing what an offspring of Annabella's would be like if the father was a metahuman-"

Annie raised a hand to slap him again.

Dr. Berchant smirked at her holding up his hands, "I was just saying. The idea of if you two ever procreated together fascinates me."

Annie glared at him and snapped, "Just answer the questions you are asked and do what we say. Nothing else." She then glanced over at Shane and said, "I am about this close-" she showed about three millimeters between her two fingers, "-from dumping acid on this b*****d."

"Don't know. We were dragged here without a word." Orion was the first to speak in response to Theonis's question. The red eye narrowed as he glanced from Theonis to the girl who had continously peeved him. "...I don't particularly appreciate it." Clear irritation in his tone as he glanced from Orion who just seemed to be looking Theonis over.

Hesitantly the boy rose his hands, the thoughts of Theonis containing Trinity's Cooties making him more reluctant than ever. "The healer." The dark eyes peered at the one who sat, as if trying to figure out how to handle the situation... "Orion doesn't want to acknowledge there is only one reason we were dragged here. You." Apollo had pointed at him as he spoke, he was the only one left in the room so naturally...he was the reason for them getting dragged in here, yeah?

"I know the feeling." Theonis replied to Orion. His eyes shifted to Apollo.

"I see, sorry about that but am pretty sure most my ribs are broken. Some fractures on my spine too.....So I'd appreciate it if you could do something about that" He said to Apollo, hoping that he would.

Shane's eyes grow dark as his tone becomes more sinister. "She's not going to "find" him. You are going to take us right to him. She will enter the HQ the same way she came in here, as a prisoner. We are going to walk in there, take her son, and leave. Any tricks from you and I'll leave you an invalid. What I need from you is just what you suggested, someone for me to consume and impersonate. Someone who works with you everyday: a colleague, a proteges, the choice is up to you who dies."

"One more thing. Thirteen years ago my sister was killed. Her body disappeared from Valhalla shortly afterwards. Valhalla was still under the control of you pukes. Several years ago I consumed someone who had seen a young woman with similar injuries to what she sustained, only she was in some form of stasis. Do you have her body? Is Agatha Morris' body still alive with no soul to inhabit it?"

Dr. Berchant's blue eyes darkened as he thought of what colleague to go, and he slowly pulled out his cell phone and held it up for Shane and Annie to see. "The student under me who watches Christian when I don't have the time. I can get a hold of him now if you want," Dr. Berchant said. "Annoying little p***k, trying to teach my son bad words in French because its "funny"... he'd deserve to be eaten alive."

"Our son," Annie corrected, under her breath.

"Yes, yes, our son of course," Dr. Berchant said. "And speaking of that, don't you think, Annabella, that our son deserves the right to see his father?"

"Who? You?" Annie laughed. "No. You just said earlier that he's an experiment for you. It isn't like you love him."

"But I am sort of attached to him," Dr. Berchant said.

"That's your loss," Annie snapped. A ball of acid forming and floating in her right hand. "Now answer Shane's question about his sister."

"Right..." Dr. Berchant muttered. "Well, you see that is a problem. I don't really know anything about Agatha Morris' body. I'm just responsible for Annabella and Christian, nothing else."

The ball of acid in Annie's hand grew as she glared at him.

"Okay... I heard in my early days with Daedalus that it's floating around somewhere in the facility but I don't know the details," Dr. Berchant said holding up his hands and backing towards the wall. "I didn't inquire. I wasn't interested in the bodies of metahumans I wanted to experiment with live ones."

"Tch.." Orion snapped, the single red eye looking back at Theonis as he spoke. The harsh gaze lowering to look at the one next to him who practically ignored Amanda as she spoke his attention solely on Theonis and listening in to his words. Releasing an irritated sigh he casually walked over to a chair and sat down on it, leaving Apollo to do his thing. "..."

He tilted his head momentarily, pulling out a miniature staff and throwing it in the direction of his elder. "Hold on to that, please." Though the dark eyes did not turn to see if his brother had gotten the staff, because he already knew that Orion would use his own power to bring it the rest of the way. Hearing a muffled acknowledgement Apollo released a light sigh. Healing brought out a maturity that was not normally seen on other occassions. "That's unlucky. Good thing for you I've been healing all of Orion's nasty booboo's. So I'm probably the best there is hehe." He could tell his words had gotten glare from the older brother, the feeling of knives poking and prodding the back of his head.

"I am not worried about cooties, I could easily get rid of them." Confidence was written all over his face as he lightly touched the affected area, humming a childish toon as he did so. Purely based on defensive abilities it was natural that his healing was slightly amplified. Placing his palm along the other's body he smiled as he continued to sing an inaudible song. It was a moment before the boy's eyes moved from the ribs to the Theonis's back in search of the fractures. "I can heal you completely, but it takes time. I could also heal you to where you just need to take it easy for awhile and then you should be fine. Which are you interested in? I'm pretty sure Orion wouldn't mind waiting." Peeking out from behind Theonis he saw a rather unpleasant glare coming from the older brother, Apollo simply stuck his tongue out as a response.

"You used to play soccer? Wow. I bet you are the best one on the team." Kerana leads the way out the door and toward the gym.

They arrive at the gym. It looks like any other gym at first look. Cardio running machines, bikes. Weights further back. There are classes taking pace, aerobics, yoga and body pump. Across the hall are the training facility and the medical facility.

"So what do you want to do first?" Kerana asked as they looked around.

Deora smiled at Kerana's compliment. She didn't like to brag, but her confidence was hard to keep under control. "Well, I was okay before the meteor. But afterward yeah, I think I was pretty good. I wasn't like, a one-girl-team or anything, but we were on our way to a championship." When they arrived at the gym she had to pause to admire it. It was much better than the rec center she was used to. the thing that really caught her attention was the training facility. She didn't know if she was ready for it yet, though. "Let's start off with something easy and go walking first."

Kodak's hands fly over his keyboard like a pianist at the ivories. "Let's see here...here we go. This is the footage from the hotel. Luckily most security cameras are linked to networks nowadays. Aaaaaand play."

The camera displays the man bad mouthing the three girls with no sound. Shane leaps over the counter and drags the man into the back room. A few seconds later he walks out alone.

Kodak pulls up the video from the diner. Shane and Annie enter, eat, and talk. Shane notices something on the TV, he pays for the meal, and they get up to eat. Two men stand and fire their weapons. Shane takes one directly to the chest, the other passes through Annie. Shane's body lashes out at anything alive. He is convulsing and clawing at the thing in his chest. Annie pulls it out. Shane stands and looks around, approaches one of the attackers the consumes him. He grabs the other man's keys, and then makes his exit with Annie.

Kodak covers his mouth at the sight of the consumption. "Oh man that's gross."

"The first option. I need to get a better hang of my power and it would be best if I am in tiptop shape. Besides I've got time..not like I'm going anywhere soon. Thanks Apollo." Theonis replied

Curing my...cooties? I'd rather live with these feelings for her. Don't mind one bit. He thought to himself.

Shane's eyes soften for a second. He can hardly believe it to be true. His sister's body may still be alive to return her soul to. She could finally be free from the machine.

His eyes become serious again as his body changes back into the guard. "We're leaving now, and you are going to take me to your student. She's under your supervision, and I am your personl security detail. Try anything and you will know endless suffering. Now move."

The ball of acid turns into water and pops, soaking Annie's outstretched hand. She glanced at Shane, her brown eyes softening. She's beginning to understand what getting Gidget's body back means to him. Gidget was more than just a little sister to him, he raised her once upon a time...

"They're not going to believe she's a prisoner unless she's unconscious," muttered Dr. Berchant. "That's always been security procedure in moving her when she isn't willing to go. I called a lock down: that's the signal that Annabella isn't going to willingly cooperate with Daedalus."

Annie raised a brow at Dr. Berchant, he was essentially proposing to knock her out. Unbelievable the nerve of him. "Fine, I'll be 'unconscious'," Annie replied coldly. "Shane, make sure I don't hit the floor too hard." At that she collapsed, faking fainting.

Dr. Berchant muttered something about her being over-dramatic, hotheaded, a pain in the neck, and a few nastier things under his breath and ended with, "and I sincerely hope for Christian's sake he doesn't end up like you." He made no move to catch her as she fell.
