Ehhhhh I forgot to introduce myself first. I was invited here by......a person.......whose name I cannot remember............lol
I'm Ryoukai (as seen by my name), and I am both a lover of classical music and a classical musician. I am a coloratura soprano and I'm majoring in vocal music education. I love Leonard Bernstein, Rachmaninoff, Schubert, Samuel Barber, Menotti, Verdi, and a lot of other composers I'm too distracted to list at the moment. Thanks for the invite to the guild, I'm excited to participate!
Also, I'm usually most active on Gaia in the summertime, when I'm not in school. So if I go AWOL in August or September that's why.....=/ (not that I plan it, it just sort of happens.

Sweet guild.
Yo. You can call me by my username, or any half of my username. It's a song title by Sugarcult, but [obviously?] they're not classical so enough on them.
I play guitar [in the not-classical sort of way that everyone else knows how to play it], bass guitar, double bass, and I recently started fiddling with my friends' violins, so I know how those work too... (No pun intended there. >>;; ) I wish I knew how to play drums and trombone.
My main instrument is double bass, which I picked up kind of randomly about a year and a half ago [as of today's date], but since I'm going off to college, I have to figure out how I'm gonna keep playing since I don't actually own one... I own an electric, acoustic, and a bass guitar, as well as a keyboard that I have little idea of how to actually play, a basic and beat up woodwind instrument that I have yet to identify, and a ukulele, both of which I have NO idea how to play. xD
._. And I think I wrote too much. If you want to know anything else, feel free to ask though! ^^;;

For keeping up double bass in college:
If you end up playing in a school ensemble, like orchestra or jazz band, or something, most schools will have some double basses available for the students to use. They understand how difficult it is to actually own and have to lug one of those around. 3nodding
If you don't play in a school-run ensemble, you may run into a problem, because they like to be able to keep track of who is using the instruments so they know who to blame if they get damaged.
Maybe make friends with someone in a school ensemble and convince them to trust you and let you use it?
