Rikki Tikki Travi mc2 "Lead the way then," John said, turning he said goodbye to the lab assistant, "Bye Alice. See you later." Dr. Berchant sighed, no, no John wasn't going to see Alice again. Not if Shane Morris had a say in the matter. Shane notices the way Alice and John look at each other. Pity, he thinks, but they sealed their fate when they started doing research for these monsters.
Shane nods to John as he walks past him to follow Dr. Berchant. He can almost feel Annie's potential feelings in this matter. That Shane is killing another innocent human. Then again, this was to get her son back. Shane feels that she may actually be alright with this.
Shane adjusts Annie's position on his shoulder to make it a bit easier for her to breath, and then follows the two scientists.
"I can't believe you are letting someone else touch your pet," John laughed following Dr. Berchant.
"I've trusted you to raise my son, why wouldn't I trust you with dealing with his mother?" Dr. Berchant asked coldly.
"I don't know," John said. "You've always seemed pretty possessive over her that is all. Some of the students joke you're obsessed with Soulsmith as more than a lab rat." Dr. Berchant stopped and glared at John with his blue eyes, he was really beginning to feel less and less guilt about leading John to his death. John shrugged, "I never really bothered analyzing your two relationship, personally. After all, I figured you two hated each other."
"We do more or less," replied Dr. Berchant reaching the garage. "Annabella has far too many bad personality traits to make her a likable person. She's a murderer. And of course, she's a metahuman. Nothing to like about her besides her usefulness as a lab specimen."
John nodded, to him how often Dr. Berchant badmouthed Annabella Soulsmith was suspicious, but he wasn't stupid enough to say that aloud to Dr. Berchant. Dr. Berchant exchanged a few words with a guard and received a pair of keys and walked to an armored truck, which he unlocked.

PixelMuse When Trinity saw she brought out her blades she brought out hers. It was her glaive, made of titanium and design based on what her ancestor weilded. She could have light channel through the thing and when that is used directly on a shadow in use it would disrupt it or disperse it. She also hopped it would help to snap out of it. The moment came she blocked a few but there was a cut on her cheek her left shoulder and her right side. When she managed to hold up her glaive, "Freya stop! You are going to regret what you did when you wake up!". She turned the light on which made her weapon glow cutting the shadow blades in half. She backed off knowing she'd shift gears and shape them into kunai knives to swipe with. The glaive's light turned off.
Trinity's assessment of Freya's tactics are correct. When she notices her shadows being slide in half by the glaive, Freya starts punching the flying pieces of shadows and launching them at Trinity's like knives.
She then rears her fist back and throws it forward while making her shadow travel along it. The shadow fist starts to come out when the ground beneath them begins to shake, disrupting her shadow.
The soldiers around the tree look around at what could possibly be making so much noise. They should be paying attention to Matron.
The children huddled in front of the monitors gasp in awe, "Matron...the stories are true."
A few of the soldiers spin around as they hear the wood begin to crack. The bark on the trunk starts to twist and open, creating a horrifying maw crying from the depths of Hell. The roots tear from the ground and thrash around it, crushing several of the soldiers. The survivors start to open fire, but are met by the tree's heavy branches smashing them against the floor.
The soldiers that had broken off from the group earlier, to look for hidden doors, hear the gunfire and screams. They level their weapons as Ivy begins to slither it's way from the center of the safe house at a unbelievably quick rate. They open fire on the flora, only to end up tangled and crushed by the devilish plants.

Shane quietly apologizes to Annie before flopping her into one of the restraining seats in the back roughly. He peeks his head out the back and motions toward John. He acts as though he is waiting for Dr. Berchant to be out of ear shot. "Pssst, hey kid. She's completely out...you want a free feel before we go?"

"I'd rather do so when you aren't expecting it," Annie replied coldly, brushing her hair over her shoulder. "A slap has more impact that way, but seriously... 'you want a free feel before we go'? And what if he said yes? You know I do have some dignity left."
The truck began to rumble as it turned on and a speaker turned on, "I see Annabella is no longer playing opossum. So I assume everything went well on your end. I'll be heading to HQ now, it will take a few hours to drive there..."
"You better not try to double cross us now, Berchant," Annie replied.
"I wouldn't dream of it," muttered Dr. Berchant. "After all this vehicle isn't sealed shut even if Shane can't end up in the front seat easily you can..."
"Exactly," Annie said.
"Anyhow," Dr. Berchant said beginning to drive the vehicle out of the garage, "I won't bother you two anymore on the speaker phone until we get to HQ..."
"How polite," Annie said sarcastically as the speaker phone linking the front and back of the armored truck turned off. She leaned back in the restraining seat her arms crossed and she inspected her nails a mix of annoyance and boredom on her face. She was so close to getting her son back and Shane was close to getting Gidget's body back, but she still didn't trust Dr. Berchant to keep his word about helping them. And working with Dr. Berchant gave her a sour feeling in her stomach.
