Courtyard (South)

Karin nodded as she patted the tree gently again. "Yes, I don't think it'd be good to do that to this one..." she murmured. She blinked as his eyes met hers, but she kept herself from looking away and instead meet his gaze, though it was making her nervous. She gaped at him for a moment, shuddering at his sudden change in tone of voice. Her tail wrapped firmly around her waist, but she still didn't look away.

"I... get the feeling your story will be more greusome than mine," she murmured softly, ears drooping. "And mine is simple. I woke up one night to the scent of blood, hurried downstairs, and found my parents both mutilated on the floor. I'd just... sat up stairs completely oblivious to the fact they were being slaughtered!" Karin's hands clenched tightly as she suddenly looked away from him and instead stared intently at the tree's trunk. "What about you?" she said, her voice a half growl.

[Dinner break! Won't take long. ^^;]

Suka listened to her story and then let go of the dagger in the tree then hestated pulling it out afterward a bit abruptly and putting it back in his pocket jumped from his branch to hers sitting in front of her with his legs spread one on each side of the branch. "My story...this'll answer two questions in one. I don't want you to act scared either...if you and I are gonna be friends for long...that's one thing you're gonna need to work on. But...I guess there's another thing we can relate on...just like I hoped there wouldn't be." he paused a bit longer and sighed "I was sleeping as you were, except for we were outside and my parents were right there beside me. We were resting just for the night before we'd leave...it'd ony been a month that we were there and the night before we departed there was a surprise attack. I woke to my mother's scream, she fell silently into the tent and I realised what had happened. Black Panther demons were slaughtering my family and friends. I found my father and I watched him fall, there were four of them on him at once...the last I heard of him was the scratching of his voice attempting to call out to me and the last thing I saw was his blood shot eyes looking in my direction. He triedto tell me what was happening and seeing me caught his attention getting him killed...I had no choice but to do to them what they were doing to us...and slaughter 'em back" he paused for breath again his eyes looking at her but unable to pay attention "Once I killed the last of those murdering Panthers I went through the bodies to find my family...I found my mother where I'd left her and my father'd been moved and buried where they'd tried to clean up what they were doing..." another breath and then "I Remember the details of that day as if it were not 14 years ago but less then 24 hours...I don't even know how long I was out there...but I saw the sun rise and fall at least twice thought it could have passed more times then I remember..." He closed his eyes tight and shook his head a bit to where his hair would fall in front of them again. "...That's why I use the word hate...that's why I know just a bit more about dead parents...experiencing the death of your parents...the friend you grew up most of your life with's parents...the carnage ofchildren piled up next to their parents or having to dig through the bodies of the poeple you'd known for so long to find your dead fathers." he sighed..."I'm sorry if that was a long story...."

Karin's eyes widened slightly as she saw the dagger, but quickly narrowed again as she saw him putting it away. He was only using it to stable himself, she assured herself. And he wasn't hiding it because he was planning to attack me either... She bit her lip, yet again resisting the urge to flinch as he leapt onto the branch before her. She stayed still, watching him silently as he began to speak. His words of her being scared only made her even more paranoid, but she made herself stay still. I'm not scared, I'm not... she kept repeating to herself. She slowly lowered herself as well, crouching upon the branch in front of him so they were at about the same level.

As she listened to his story her eyes gradually widened, and she instantly understood why he'd mentioned such a strong hate of the bigger cats earlier. She had a feeling that if she'd ended up being a panther, she'd probably be dead right now. She shivered slightly, ears perking suddenly as she heard how many years ago this had happened. "F-fourteen years?" she stammered, partially in shock, and partly in horror. "So you were... three or... or four?" She'd taken a guess about his age, thinking he was just a year or two older than herself. As he finished with an apology, she shook her head, eyes downcast now. "No, you... don't have to apologize. You have nothing to be sorry for." She bit her lip, suddenly feeling the urge to cry. His last words had the greatest impact, and she just sat there for a while, staring blankly ahead. Then she suddenly lurched forward, throwing her arms around him. "I-I'm sorry," she whimpered. "I had nothing to complain about, but I still whined about it. I'm sorry..." She shut her eyes tightly, still fighting back tears.

[I... kinda doubt I'll still be here. Usually my dad's chased me off by then. ><;; But I'll definitely be on around three tomorrow afternoon after school. xP]

[Are you calling me master? o.o But have fun! I won't be on until tomorrow around 3pm. Currently it's 10:18pm where I am. Good night! ^^;;]

Suka felt a bit relieved once this was all said and done. He was breathing a bit heavily from the story, having felt the same feelings he had felt on that field that day. He nodded, eyes still hidden, toward her guess at his age. He was five at the time, but that was only two years oder than her, he hadn't asked her age....he might later but now was not the time. When she threw her arms around him he stoped worrying about balance and put his right arm around her, resting his pam on her back as he listened to her words, letting just one tear slip past him holding the rest of them in silently. "You had less to complain about...that's all...less. Don't be sorry for complaining, be sorry for having something to complain about." the words ran off his lips the way they were supposed to, but they may not have made as much sense as he'd hoped they would. This kind of stuff shouldn't happen...if these hings didn;t happen then nobody would have anything to complain about. he looked through his hair down at wha he ocould see of her back We shouldn't have this much in common, me and her, I only hope there aren't many other people like this...that's all I can do is hope... he closed his eyes again gently keeping quiet again

Looking at his shattered bat, he sighed and walked over towards a tree. Still nothing to do till class. He but the ramones on his walkman and started to airdrum along to "I Wanna be Sedated" to get rid of his stress.

Karin bit her lip, feeling his arm loop around her in response. She was surprised for a moment, having almost expected him to shove her away. But she quickly pushed these thoughts away. They weren't what was important right now... She continued chewing her lip nervously, desperately fighting back her tears. Her ears perked slightly as she listened to him speak, and she kept her eyes closed for a while longer as she took in his words and allowed them to settle.

Then she breathed out once, shakily, and slowly pulled back. She saw the trace of a single tear upon his face, but didn't say anything about it. She also guessed now wouldn't be the time to push his hair back out of his face like she had earlier either. Karin nodded very slowly, her gaze dropping to the space of branch in between the two. She stared with her left eye, the right once more covered by a wave of black hair. "We're... going to fall," she whispered faintly with a very weak laugh. It was a poor attempt at changing the subject, but at least she'd tried.

Suka looked down and shrugged a bit "If we fell we'd not get hurt...if we were expecting it." he said and then moved his hair out from in front of his face sighing again and slowly inhaling and exhaling before looking up at her "Maybe there's a reason I followed you that I don't know...what I do know, though, is that I want down now" he said still keeping his legs one on each side but now gripping the branch as he had done before he hopped down to the one he was on originally again.

Karin tilted her head, slowly looking back up at him as he spoke about their falling. She nodded slightly, then sighed very faintly to herself before her ears perked up again. She blinked at his next words. What reason... could there be? she thought to herself as her tail slowly unwrapped itself from her waist and began absently flicking behind her again.

She was slowly cheering herself back up, sucessfully blocking all images of her own past from her mind, as well as the ones she'd imagined from his story. She shivered softly and then watched as his hands latched once more onto the branch. She offered a small grin now as she hopped back to her feet, then dropped down to a branch a couple feet below them. She extended a hand up towards him, offering to help him make his way back down.

He hesitated before lifting one leg over the branch so that they were both on the same sides and he grabbed her hand sliding off to the branch she was on but then deciding that if they were to go at this same pace he might as well just fall he let go of her hand and jumped down to one branch then another increasing the distance between each one until he was more than half way down from the height they were at jumping the rest of the wway down to land on his feet bending them til he was squating before plopping on the ground legs outstretched and looking up at her

Karin carefully helped him to the branch she was standing on, then blinked as he suddenly pulled away and went off on his own. Her eyes widened slightly as her head titled, and an amused smile spread across her face. "I guess you don't need my help then?" she laughed softly, shaking her head. Then she quickly climbed down as well, leaping nimbly from branch to branch until she finally landed upon the ground all all fours. She remained crouched for a second, just watching him, and then plopped down as well, legs crossed and her hands grasping them lightly near the ankles. Her headphones had fallen lopsided around her neck, and she quickly straightened them again.

Suka spread his legs out a bit as if he were going to do stretches or something and then instead leaned over towards her slightly "So what now?" he asked and then waited for a response as he stared at her in anticipation
