More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Shane chuckles, "Yea you should, especially since I was trying to kill them."

He thinks about what she said. How she doesn't want to be away from him anymore. She has been on his mind since that day she kissed him after his promotion. He had initially dismissed it as puppy love, she was barely old enough to smoke. As the years went on, he though of her. Of what she might be doing, how lovely she must have become. And then she came to see him. He wished it could have been under better circumstances, but then those seething feelings resurface. She still had that fire, and she had become a beautiful woman.

Shane takes her hands and gently pries the apart. He lifts her head from her chin with his thumb and forefinger. His eyes and expression are no longer hard, no longer dark and brooding. This is the Shane Morris from thirteen years ago.

Keeping on that track, he has no idea what to say now. He swallows hard as he thinks of something soothing, something comforting to say to her. About how he wont let anything happen to her or her son. How he's glad that they're traveling together...

"...Hey..."

Annie glances up at Shane as he takes her hand, his aura having the familiarity it did years ago: good and sincere. His soft "hey" gave her hope to hold onto. People had changed, she had changed, Shane had changed, but some things hadn't...

Annie smiled slightly at him, and asked gently, "What?"

"s**t!" He expected Daedelus but not freaking missiles and grenades. While on topic who throws grenades into the air? Not really effective is it? Unless they were shrapnel grenades. In which case they would nearly impossible to dodge but he wasn't planning to become swiss cheese.

He increased the rotation speed of his sphere. He hoped it was enough to deflect the shards but he wasn't going to take chances. Theonis released a wave of pressure towards the missiles and grenades. Once again he was not sure if it would help. Perhaps it would knock them off course or send them back to the soldiers. But maybe those missiles were heat seeking. Only one was to find out.

Theonis shot upwards towards the sky and looked down to see if the missiles followed.

Trinity watched Theonis as her wounds were healing. Her eyes widen as they brought out the heavy weaponry. She wanted to go to him but in order for the healing to take effect and not completely drain her of her ki energy she needed to lay still.

When Theonis lifted off, "Show's over...time to get back to work.". She shifted her ki back to normal. She got up and looked toward where Freya was heading. She touched the tree again, uncertain if this was the way to communicate with it but it was worth a shot, "Now I hope to return a favor..." she let go, "...and not get killed."

She dropped through her shadow and emerged in the center of all the branches from the shadows of the shrubbery. She looked down through the branches toward Freya observing what she is doing first before closing in this time. Teshou had always emphasized to find out as much as you can before going in.

Annie glances up at Shane as he takes her hand, his aura having the familiarity it did years ago: good and sincere. His soft "hey" gave her hope to hold onto. People had changed, she had changed, Shane had changed, but some things hadn't...

Shane pauses for a moment. He'd expected her to laugh at him, and now he doesn't know what to say. Acting on impulse and smiling awkwardly, he cradles her cheek in one hand and looks longingly into her eyes. He is at a complete loss for words, but his eyes speak honest of his feelings.

"I-" began Annie unsure what to say. She hadn't expected Shane to take the initiative. She bit her lip and then quickly spit out, "I should thank you for everything..."

Her free hand gently touched his shoulder almost unconsciously, and slid up his shoulder and neck to his cheek, and then into his hair. Leaning in so that only a few inches separated them, she dropped her voice and said, "I don't think I could have made it this far without your help. Honestly thank-you."

She dropped through her shadow and emerged in the center of all the branches from the shadows of the shrubbery. She looked down through the branches toward Freya observing what she is doing first before closing in this time. Teshou had always emphasized to find out as much as you can before going in.

Freya sprints to the location of matron, nimbly avoiding anything thrown at her. The tree opens it's wooden maw in defiance and bellows at the ninja. Freya takes the opportunity and leaps into its mouth. A few seconds later she emerges from a shadow on the ground created by the branches. She is holding something in her hand that looks like a grenade pin.

Suddenly, something explodes from within the great tree, and it starts to burn. Its mewls in pain as it starts thrashing around wildly.

Damn! thought Trinity when she found herself surrounded by fire. She thought of one thing she could do to help the tree. She kneeled down with both hands on her shadow and concentrated. Using every shadow she could find on the tree shifting the shadows into vacuums to put out as many fires as she could. The temperature was very hot, it didn't take long before she was covered in sweat. Most of the fire was put out. She would need to take it easy with her ki energy, keeping that in mind she drew her glaive. She touched the tree again, "I'm sorry I couldn't do more but I hope it helped. Any assistance in this fight would be most helpful."

With that she leaped out and held her glaive at her waist flipping over landing on her feet. Eyes focused on Freya she brought one hand up and becond her with an expression that said 'bring it!'. She took her stance and was ready for anything.

Gidget's HUD begins to go to work as she pulls up a map and suit command system. She asks Tansy, "Where is the church. Please try to remember. I can stop this before it gets started. Angel knew his plans. He is going to do something large scale and very bad."

Gidget's search finally turns up something on Knightly. He's completely clean. That doesn't come to much of a shock to her, because so was Charles Ray before he shaved her head and turned her brain into a blueprint factory.

"I had a feeling that he had some kind of plan like that." She frowned somewhat as she hung her head. "We need to get a few people together, I don't know if we could take care of it just by ourselves." She began to chew the inside of her cheek.

The visible eye's pupil fluctuated as it glanced at Kerana. Great, he couldn't have this. "...too loud." His neck tensed momentarily with slight fear, he couldn't be dropping his brother and running off to a more secluded and quiet area. Her question caused him to take a step backwards in a defensive manner, "No, Apollo's mine. He's all I got..you can't have him..!" The eye squinted momentarily at her, he knew her...she wouldn't take him, furthermore...why was he being defensive, if anyone were to take Apollo he'd kill them... His eyebrow twitched momentarily as he lowered the slumbering child to the ground, and then picked him up once more this time gently placing him along his shoulder so one of his hands would be free. "I'm fine...I just got to get somewhere...quiet." Fingertips covered a majority of his reacting eye as he stammered on, the lean legs beneath him lightly trembled at a reaction to such chaos.

He whispers, "Anytime..." He can no longer contain his fire as he raises his other hand to her face and brings his lips to meet hers. For him, this is truly his first kiss. Nothing like the peck he had experienced thirteen years ago, and he had never had time for a relationship while he was on the lamb. He didn't want one. But he wants Annie. Her fire, her heart, he wants it all.

With that she leaped out and held her glaive at her waist flipping over landing on her feet. Eyes focused on Freya she brought one hand up and becond her with an expression that said 'bring it!'. She took her stance and was ready for anything.

Matron could feel the fires being extinguished around it, but the fires inside had done their deed. It didn't take long for it to fall limp and still. It began to dry out and rot before Trinity's eyes.

Freya stood before the dying tree, facing her student. If she were of right mind, she would be goaded into attacking Trinity after the taunt. But the force controlling Freya would not be taken.

She can feel the drop in Trinity's ki, and knows that if this fight were to go on she would ultimately be the victor. But things had gone wrong, and Morris wasn't here.

Freya shapes more hands signs and drops her hands onto her shadow. It begins to grow like a stain, quadrupling in size. From the depths emerge three wolves forged from pure shadow.

Freya had told Trinity of the toxic air within the shadow realm. How anything that remained in there for too long would ultimately die. The bodies left behind would be devoured and transformed into the beasts within that realm. Soulless and without pity, they obeyed the creature that dwells within Okami. The seal allows Freya to control them by proxy.

The wolves open their hellish maws and gaze at Trinity with their colorless dead eyes. Freya looks up at Trinity one last time, and then throws a handful of smoke bombs at her own feet. It is at this time that the wolves attack at once.

Outside, the soldiers are not faring well against Theonis' strange powers. The shrapnel blowing from the grenades were indeed deflected harmlessly from him. The missiles and unexploded grenades that had been hit by his pressure wave are blown back at the soldiers. Several of them are injured or killed. The more tenacious ones fire more missiles at him.

Although the rockets are not heat seeking, they are guided. The soldiers on the ground trace Theonis movement with their instruments and chase after him with the new missiles.

"I had a feeling that he had some kind of plan like that." She frowned somewhat as she hung her head. "We need to get a few people together, I don't know if we could take care of it just by ourselves." She began to chew the inside of her cheek.

Gidget shakes her head. "No Tansy, not ourselves, myself. He's already gotten into your head once, and you are particularly susceptible after having gone through that ordeal just now. I'm not made of flesh and blood, and I don't have a brain he can get into. His type 3 power wont work against me, so I have an advantage. Charles Ray figured this out the hard way several years ago, so now he doesn't screw with me."

Gidget thinks for a moment. When she met Tansy yesterday, Angel had been doing volunteer work in the sub district. Volunteer...or recruiting...the sub district--She accesses her maps and finds a church near the center of the district. That would be a good place to start if Tansy couldn't give her anything definitive.

"Please Tansy, where is that Church?"

He whispers, "Anytime..." He can no longer contain his fire as he raises his other hand to her face and brings his lips to meet hers. For him, this is truly his first kiss. Nothing like the peck he had experienced thirteen years ago, and he had never had time for a relationship while he was on the lamb. He didn't want one. But he wants Annie. Her fire, her heart, he wants it all.

Annie's eyes first widen at Shane's initiative and then close as their lips meet. For thirteen years she had thought about kissing Shane truly, kicking herself for not taking the initiative when she had the chance years ago, but now... Her free hand reaches for his hoodie, the thing and Shane's apparent attachment to it had annoyed her for a while now.

She wants more than just to kiss him, even though logic was telling her timing may be inappropriate. Annie pushes Shane gently down onto the seat, and she follows him down still kissing him.

Erin found herself in a portion of the subdivision she had not visited before, and with it came the sounds of fighting, turning another corner she found a building with what she thought to be cop cars surrounding its entrance. Thinking nothing of it, she stood there at the corner, right behind the building, and out of the way. Watching as much as she could from where she was while sipping on the contents in the cup. Why these guys were attacking a building almost full force was against her knowledge,but light show and fighting was entertaining enough to make her stop.

He turned his head towards one of the windows. Off in the distance he heard explosions go off and Jordan pondered over the idea of searching for what was happening. He needed another creature and host; seeing how one of his first were forced out of existence after so many years. He wanted something new, and something a bit more powerful with so many of his creatures brooding in the fears of their hosts. Jordan had decided, with who ever that forced this one out of it's host, two to three more will have to be created if he were to stay on top of things and for his plan to take action. He needed more, he wanted more, Jordan wanted to bring his salvation to full exposure.
