Higurashi when they cry is about a small rural town in Japan and a boy that moves there from the city. It starts with the murder of many people in the town, then shows how the town ends up that way in several chapters. Each chapter is the story from a different person's perspective, all of whom are crazy in my opinion. There's alot more to it but you should really watch it to find out biggrin

Maria-sama ga Miteru is a really good Anime. It's a sweet Shoujo series about life on campus as a bunch of Catholic Schoolgirls in Japan. There's some light lesbian scenes, and by light I mean there's some scenes of them kissing, but it fades out or pans down, so you don't actually see them kiss.

Emma: A Victorian Romance is nice, it debunks the anime maid for a more accurate depiction of a Victorian era maid.

Samurai7 is a great Samurai story by Akira Kurosawa retold with mecha...but as great asd it is you really should watch the old film "Seven Samurai" so that you can fully appreciate the story. There is also and updated live movie called "Seven Swords" that updates the Kurosawa pic for those who don't like Black and White film XD
