"Do you feel you were better off without the augmentation?"

"I guess it's really to early to say." She shrugged again with a sigh. "I don't see any harm with having it. And really, it seems as if it'll make some things easier. It's just something we'll have to wait to see." She smiled at Gigdet as she thought of something else. "Oh... Trinity was here earlier. She asked me if I could help her track down your escapee." She turned to look at the woman.

"I guess it's really to early to say." She shrugged again with a sigh. "I don't see any harm with having it. And really, it seems as if it'll make some things easier. It's just something we'll have to wait to see." She smiled at Gigdet as she thought of something else. "Oh... Trinity was here earlier. She asked me if I could help her track down your escapee." She turned to look at the woman.

"Ah right...she was talking about Shane. I've been so preoccupied with finding the person that hurt Tansy that I almost forgot about him. As far as threats go I'm going to have to prioritize Knightly over my brother."

"Last time I checked he and an old friend of mine were heading to Daedalus headquarters. If they can do some damage there, more power to them. But Knightly is a present threat and needs to be stopped before he gets his claws into anyone else."

Putting down his soup on the table he sat down.

"So I suppose I should tell you what that was all about. I felt a bit better when I told you about the dorms so.....why not huh?" He said and tried to smile a bit.

Trinity looked up as he put the soup down and took her to-go salad out of it's recyclable package. She listened to his suggestion and welcomed it with a smile. "Only if you are ready to share it. I'm all ears either way."

Shane keys the mic and says, "Thirty minutes until we arrive. If it makes you feel better, I have his mouth fused shut. He looks like Neo after he mouthed off to Smith. I'm not entirely sure, but I might be able to reshape his face so that he looks like Alfred E. Newman."

Annie smiled picturing the scene in her head. So it was Berchant who mouthed off to Shane. Apparently she wasn't the only one who couldn't hold her temper. "While it would be amusing to see him with the face of Alfred E. Newman I think it would be better if we let him be for now." Sarcastically she added, "The poor man is probably suffering enough already that he cannot talk."

She leaned her head back savoring the thought of it may be all over soon. Only thirty minutes until they got to Daedalus HQ. But... "What about my son they are going to use him as a bargaining chip. I know we have Berchant under our control but do you really think they'll release one of their prized experiments for Berchant?"

"You let me worry about that. I doubt that they will make a direct exchange for Berchant. I have a plan, but I can't tell you what it is. I need thsm to see your desperation for this to work. You'll have to trust me."

Annie's brown eyes flashed at Shane's statement, obviously irked if you could see her expression. Instead of snapping though, she took a deep breath and said, "Fine... let's just toy with my emotions. Very well, I will trust you on this. I am not happy about staying out of the loop but I will trust you on this..."

All pointy ears you mean Theonis snickered internally.

He took a deep breath." You know how I pretend to be dead right? To keep my parents safe from Daedelus. But first I guess I should tell you about my parents. Dad's a scientist and mom's a nurse. Both worked at the hospital. Short story short, they fell in love and had me."

"When the meteors first came my dad was interested in them. Since people who came in contact with them gained powers. He was actually helping people with it too. Until...a meta came along who didn't like that a human was studying Meta's. Killed my aunt and uncle..his brother and sister to send a message. Dad changed after that. His adoration turned into hatred. My mum stuck with him, clinging to the man he used to be. hell..still is. " Theonis paused.

"So yeah...he hates Meta's but still believes is son..his...human son is alive. I never told them I was a Meta. Didn't....didn't know how dad would react" Theonis confessed. He felt this lump in his throat again. But he refused to cry in front of Trinity. He wouldn't allow himself to.

"I can see why you want to start over. However if Daedalus gets to them you may have no choice to but to reveal both that you're alive and that you're a meta." She sighed a little and looked down, "At least you have parents... I let mine down..." She still wasn't wearing her green trench coat and rubbed her naked arm.

"I just hope my dad isn't with Daedelus."

"You..let them down?" Theonis asked

Looks like you also got some issues with parents...or guilt

"Ya...Daedalus assumed they were metas when they found a meteor had landed in our backyard. I had found out and was trying to warn them when I only got there just in time to see them get shot at the supermarket. If I had gotten there seconds sooner I would have been able to protect them... and they would be alive today..." she poked her salad as she looked down at it.

Theonis's mood swifted. What Trinity said fueled his hate for Daedelus.

"I'm sorry Trin, You did everything you could. I'm sure they know that."

There was small pause followed by a chuckle from Theonis as he stirred his soup.

"I pick the worst lunch subjects to talk about, don't I?"

Shane puts the mic down and sits back as the trip is made. Nearly thirty minutes later he can feel a large concentration of metahumans and humans in a building somewhere in front of them. He waves his hand dismissively at Berchant and undoes the lip fusion, returning them to normal.

"Are we being taken into an underground garage or facility to see Christian?"

Ah, considering the people you've killed your girlfriend turning some poor Daedalus workers to goo would be no big concern to you..."

Shane checks his appearance in the small mirror behind the sunshade of the van. He still looks like Berchant's assistant, but that wasn't going to last long. Surely he told them of the boy's demise. Still, just in case. It will give them a sense that they are a step ahead of him, that they are in control. But they don't know about Berchant or his ability to control people.

Berchant raised a brow and gulped some at the thought of what Shane threatened. Darkly he muttered, "I have no doubt you would do something like that."

The truck pulled down a driveway that lowered into the ground. The truck paused, and the door to the garage opened. Inside stood about sixty guards and in the arms of an armed guard slept a child with dark brown hair-almost black hair-, chubby cheeks and a stubborn chin he inherited from his mother. Berchant sighed driving the tuck into the garage, and the door behind them closed.

Berchant glanced at Shane and then to the guards. "Stay in the truck!" Ordered the guard that appeared in charge, the guard holding Christian. "We will release Annabella Soulsmith first. Guards open the back of the truck, be sure to remind her if she tries anything funny we do have her son in our control."
