More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Theonis sighed but made no complaints since it made sense. He filled out his full name on the database form. Since the form also asked for a proper description of his powers he also filled that in.

"Pressure manipulation, enhanced senses, exponential learning curve." He mutter to himself as he filled it in. He did put a question mark behind the last one since he hasn't actively tested it but was pretty sure it was something like that.

"Alright there ya go" Theonis said as he turned in the form."Oh it may say that I am dead though. Long story.

She paused. She had a feeling that that was what this was about. Sighing, she crossed her arms over her chest. "I'll have to wipe Lia's memories again. At this point she's so close to Shane, I doubt she would do anything to hurt him. We'll have to move quickly, while Shane is still busy with Deadalus. He'd do anything to stop us if he finds out."

Ray looks at Jezebel with momentary confusion, then realizes what it is she is suggesting. With a wicked grin, the dark man shakes his head.

"You misunderstand what it is I am suggesting my dear. It is not simply enough that I have our mutual annoyance fade from this mortal coil, oh no. She has been a thorn in my side for over a decade, and I want her to suffer."

"Death is a merciful thing for one such as herself. She lives within that shell without any form of human interaction aside from conversation. Her lack of a physical brain makes it impossible for my power to work. The odds of a type three metahuman power working against her are absolutely zero."

"Except in your case...it would seem. For years my best technicians and hackers have been trying to break her systems. You broke the unbreakable with but a thought. You are the true key Jezebel. You can open her mind to fear and madness. She will stew in her psychosis for all eternity in that metallic shell of hers."

"What do you say? Is this something you can do? Is it something you'd enjoy doing?"

Shane glares at Berchant for a second before looking back at Annie. "You wont have to hold it for a few hours. The guards will be so preoccupied with me that they will probably be paying little to no attention to you. I'll make sure of that. The more bodies they throw at me the more biomass I can create and use against them."

"Our first task should be to release the other metahumans. I can break through any lock or hack any system that they have in place to keep them penned. I think it may be best if you accompany me in your liquid form and let me do the fighting at first. Once we open the first cell we can formulate another plan."

Annie nodded a grim look of determination on her face. Part of her wondered if she was better off taking her son and running. But she didn't want to lose Shane again: if she let him do this on his own there was no doubt he'd abandon her to protect her and her son. She knew she wanted too much- her son, the destruction of Daedalus, and Shane- but she wasn't going to not try and grasp her desires.

She shifted into her liquid form and said forcing a smile, "Well, are you ready to go, then? The sooner we leave the less time they have to prepare a counterattack."

Berchant sighed speaking up, "I guess there is no talking you two out of what you plan to do. Me? I am going to my parent's house with Christian." Pulling out pen and paper he wrote an address in North Dakota and handed it to Annie.

She glanced at the address quickly memorizing it. "You're from North Dakota?" She asked finally. "I always imagined a slime ball like you to be from a big city or something."

Christian spoke up, "Daddy, Mommy called you a slime ball."

"Yeah and she's probably right," chuckled Berchant.

Christian looked as if he doubted what his father said and then glanced to where Annie was- his eyes only looking at her purposely avoiding the scene of carnage around them, "Where are you going Mommy?"

"To make sure that the bad guys don't ever mess with you again," Annie said telling half a truth, before she turned to Shane. "Ready?"

Gidget leaned back into her chair and took it all in. "I didn't put a tracking device into Annie's suit. Even if I did, we wouldn't do anything. My God Trinity, do you know what you were risking by attacking Shane? Even if you had Theonis' help, you're both made of flesh. The only reason I was able to take him down was because I'm the way I am. Don't you ever go after him without me again. Especially now since he will no doubt consume several dozen soldiers. He may get lucky and find one with martial arts skills that rival yours. Or worse, if they decide to sic Freya on him and he manages to consume her."

"So Annie has a little boy. In that case we wont have to worry about going into Daedalus to bust out Kerana's parents. She'll make sure it happens. Shane may be corrupt, but he's not all bad yet. If she asks, he will probably oblige her."

"A safehouse with a big tree. You must mean Matron. She was one of the oldest Meta's still alive. If Daedalus has Freya under their control, then we are going to have to come up with another plan. Can you contact her brother?"

Trinity folds her arms across her chest "First off Gidget I knew the risks. He would kill me, have my power, and knowledge of Valhalla's security. Despite that would you have me do nothing? Nothing while he goes out on a killing spree while you are inaccessible? Nothing while the blood of innocents is spilled? I wasn't going to allow him to go unchecked no matter the risks."

"As for Kerana's parents...." she sighed and rubbed her head,"true, but I made the promise. Perhaps I could reunite them at least."

"I think I still have Teshomaru's number" she disconnected her phone and does a search for his number.

With a solemn look on her face she confirmed, "Matron, that was her name...and I failed her...". Just then she sees Kerana's text. Followed by an important e-mail from one of the soldiers at the safe house Gidget got it too. It had a photo of a younger tree which was inside of Matron's carcass. Following was a report indicating that they were in talks with Liz, her brother and the others to see if they could temporarily stay at Valhalla while they work on rebuilding their safe house. Trinity did not read the rest but did see the photo.

"Here we are calling him now...". She calls Teshomaru.

"To make sure that the bad guys don't ever mess with you again," Annie said telling half a truth, before she turned to Shane. "Ready?"

Shane is about to respond with a positive, but then he takes a good look at Christian. The boy looked worried, powerless at the events that are unfolding around him. Shane remembers the same look in Gidget's eyes when their parents died.

The hardness in his eyes dissipates as he approaches Annie's son slowly. With a sad smile, a smile that reflects the turmoil in his soul, he speaks softly and sincerely to Christian.

"I'm truly sorry that you have to see this. Someone your age should be in school playing with his friends. Not being subjected to experiments and being kept from the world. Don't worry about your mother, she's one tough cookie. I'll make sure she comes back to you. I promised her, and now I'm promising you."

"Shane may be a killer, but he is a concise one. The death toll rises exponentially when he is confronted. The risk isn't just to you and the security of Valhalla, but the general public as well. Look at what happened when Daedalus attacked him, innocent bystanders got hurt. You are strong Trinity, and he will react to that in kind. His biomass constantly evolves to meet the threat brought before it."

"Please, I don't mean to sound like I am giving you an order. I just don't want you to get in over your head and nearly kill yourself like you did yesterday. I know I wasn't able to be reached today, but that wont happen again. I'm here now, and we'll get him once he and Annie are done with that Branch of Daedalus."

On the phone there is a pickup followed by a momentary pause before Teshoumaru speaks.

"Where are you?"

Well hello to you too Theonis said as he looked at her. Damn she looks good. Just remember Theo you are no longer single. Show some restraint alright? He let out a small sigh.

He extended his arm to shake her hand.

"Pleased to meet you" Theonis said and looked her in the eyes. At least that was his plan but it was hard to keep them there.

"Please, I don't mean to sound like I am giving you an order. I just don't want you to get in over your head and nearly kill yourself like you did yesterday. I know I wasn't able to be reached today, but that won't happen again. I'm here now, and we'll get him once he and Annie are done with that Branch of Daedalus."

As the phone rang for Teshoumaru, she answered, "Very well...I won't go after them without you."

On the phone there is a pickup followed by a momentary pause before Teshoumaru speaks.

"Where are you?"

"In Valhalla, Gidget's lab."

Within a second of Trinity's answer, Teshoumaru appears from behind Gidget's enormous monitor setup. He closes his phone and steps out from behind it.

His right hand still bares numerous scars from the attack he sustained at the hands of Cortez over a decade ago. What's more noticeable, though, is the patch he has over his right eye.

He strides over to Trinity and says flatly, "Did they send her after you as well?"

"Yeah, only when they figured out it was me sabotaging their mission, what ever that may be. I tried to reach her, but they seem to have some powerful hold over her. Was she behind this?" she made reference to his eye patch.

Teshoumaru nods solemnly and replies, "She never goes for the eyes with a blade. She finds the idea of an eyeball being split open "nasty." Whoever has her in their control has his hooks in deep. I was only able to escape because I took a gamble and by throwing a stick and shouting fetch. Even with the mind control, Okami's canine instincts overrode them. I don't know how well that would work now."

"I got to Okami for a brief moment. She was going to pull her deadliest move on me but she was interrupted by Matron a tree meta, that... she blew up... Then left abruptly... It seems she was looking for something, or someone...

I kept wondering how they could have such a hold on her... She has a very strong will..." she raised her eyes to him with a sense of concern for Freya.

Teshoumaru's face became deathly serious, "If she used the Genkido Tengoku then that means the person controlling her has no regard for her well being. That technique brings the user to the very brink of death."

"If they sent her after Trinity after the arrival of Daedalus, then they were going after the Safe House itself. With a force as large as Trinity described, they were probably looking for Shane. Matron's safehouse was a place he'd frequent when he was on the run. When you showed up they had no way of fighting you, so they fought fire with fire. Like I said yesterday, there really isn't much anyone can do against you shadow metas."

Teshou shakes his head and says, "There is plenty that can be done. They just haven't figured it out yet. As far as Freya's will goes...don't mistake her stubbornness for a strong will. If she had any grasp on her mental fortitude, then she wouldn't be as tainted as she is by Okami. They took her first because they knew breaking me would be next to impossible."

"I know that," Christian said in regards to his mother being a 'tough cookie'. He looked reproachful at Shane as he continued in his typically eloquent style, "I don't want you to promise me anything." He turned and buried his head into Berchant's coat.

"Christian," Annie gasped.

Christian glanced out at her and said, "I'm mad at you, Mommy. This is the second time you're leaving me."

Annie stared at her son and took a deep breath. That was when Christian turned to Shane and added, "You say you're taking charge of Mommy's safety, right? Well if something happens to her I am blaming you and Mommy."

Berchant smiled some at his son's commanding tone. The kid was smart, knew what he wanted, and could eloquently put what he wanted: Annabella might not like it but Christian inherited more of his father's traits than just his blue eyes.

Annie forced a smile and said, "You don't have anything to worry about I will come back, just like I did this time. I promise you I will be back." She kissed Christian's cheek.

Berchant spoke up, "Are you done with your goodbyes? I want to get out of this blood bath as soon as possible. It isn't a good environment for my son." Annie narrowed her eyes at him and said nothing before turning and shifting into her liquid form.
