Courtyard (South)

Suka shook his head and walked across the grassy field to a tree that was at a gooddistance from where they stood just moments before. He pulled his dagger out of the branch that he'd thrown it in as she slept. He slipped it into his pocket and then returned to her, still draggin his feet while he walked. "No I don't...it'll pass sooner or later...when the sun's back to it's full height in the clouds I'll be back to normal...I don't like to sleep." He finished his sentence and then blinked a couple of times opening his eyes wider but then dropping them even lower then they were before he'd tried to raise them. His eyelids seemed to become too heavy for him to ekeep them open now...

After reading for half an hour, Zuno closed the book and streched out his wings. The white feathers seemed to faintly glow whiter then usual in the sunlight. He dug into his bag and took out a small breakfast bar. He opened and ate it, throwing the wrapper in a near-by trash can. He sat back down near the tree and opened up the book again after looking around at other poeple chatting.

Karin trailed after him as he went to the tree and pulled the dagger from it. She had no idea how the knife had gotten there, but again she decided not to ask. It didn't matter anyway. She didn't smell blood, and that was a good sign at least. She sighed again, tilting his head at his claims to not sleep. "Why not?" she asked suddenly. "How can you not like sleeping?" She frowned as she saw his eyes close and shook her head. Why was he being so stubborn? Sleeping was relaxing, and he definitely seemed kind of out of it. He couldn't even keep his eyes open!

Suka shook his head "I don't like sleeping for a good reason...no matter how relaxing it should be it's not like that for me. Tonight will just make..." he counted on his fingers and then when he got to seven fingers he stopped. "...seven hundred and eighty three nights if I'm counting correctly?" He said this but then shrugged. "Though that's only an estimation...I've been busy until I came here....I'll see what I can do about it later..not now though."

Kana blinked suddenly, her ears twitching. The slight movement startled the butterfly into leaving and she pouted, eyes following as it took to the sky, somewhere she could never reach. She sighed, ears drooping slightly, but they the perked instantly as she saw a figure sitting reading. Kana leapt to her feet, staring wide eyed at the male as simply sat there. He wasn't doing anything special at all, but she'd caught sight of the wings sprouting from his back. She'd only met one other who had wings, and he'd been very rude to her, so she didn't move and instead just gazed in awe.

Then a new scent came to her, one that she was sure she'd never catch again. She froze, eyes darting around until they fell upon a girl standing near a tree. A male was with her, one who smelled of wolf. But Kana ignored him for now, too excited about discovering a long lost friend. "K-Karin!" she shouted as she raced towards her. Kana leapt forward, throwing her arms around the older girls neck. "What are you doing here? Did you follow me? You just left your parents like that? Aren't they worried?!"

Karin blinked, crossing her arms over her chest. "...fine," she murmured, not really understanding how someone could dislike sleeping. It was such a wonderful feeling! Anything could happen in your dreams...

She looked up sharply as she heard the sound of bare feet against the grass approaching rapidly. Before she knew what was happening, something had grabbed her around the neck, hugging her tightly and spouting off many questions at once. Karin just stood there for a second, stunned. Then she blinked and glanced down at the girl who'd grabbed her. "Kana...?" She laughed suddenly and hugged her back, rethinking all the questions in her mind. "Yes, I followed you." She grinned, but felt her ears droop at the next question. "Actually, I've been meaning to tell you this for a while..." Karin pried Kana off of her and held her shoulders gently, looking down into the girl's eyes. "My parents died," she said softly. "About ten years ago. I didn't want you to worry, so I didn't tell you."

Suka looked over at Kana as she had come over. He already assumed that she was the person that Karin had come fhere for, since she had come up to her like that. He kept quiet though and scooted back a bit as he was going to allow Karin to tell her what he knew would come from these questions. Sometimes fate worked like that...he moved his back against a tree as he looked on at the both of them and kept silently to himself at the same time. He wanted to give them some time to themselves for now and he fondled something in his pocket as he stood there.

Sora walked into the southern courtyard, stretching her arms into the sky. She didnt wear her uniform today; it got messy. So she just went around in a black pleated skirt and a white sleeveless top with a pair of knee-high boots. She smiled, sitting on a nearby bench. Hikari and Ayame were exploring the area themselves, so Sora was on her own for a while. It was actually pretty peacefull, but she wondered if she should go somewhere off campus later, like the mall. she didn't know, and she didn't put too much thought into it, so she just sat quietly, singing to herself silently.

Zuno heard the sound of soft singing and turned to Sora, closing his book. He placed his book in his bag and fluttered to the bench that she was sitting on. He stood there with his backpack, and asked, "Is this seat taken?"

Kana grinned brightly as Karin responded and allowed the girl to force her arms away and hold her shoulders. She tilted her head slightly on confusion as Karin announced there was something she needed to say, but the smile remained on her face. Yet, as she took in the words, Kana's eyes suddenly went wide, the smile vanishing instantly. "Wh-what?" she stammered. "Th-they died...?" She stared at her in shock for a moment and then shook her head, laughing uneasily. "Don't... make things up like that. That's not something to tease about."

Kana glanced around nervously. "B-because that would mean that when injured you... where did you go? Is that why... you never invited me over?" Thinking back now, it began to make a little more sense. It made sense that her parents were... "But why?!" she shouted suddenly. "Why didn't you say anything? You could have come to live with me!" She shut her eyes tightly, shaking her head again. "I don't believe you! They aren't!"

Karin glanced at Suka uncertainly and then turned back to Kana, surprised to hear her first response being a laugh of disbelief. Then again, that was probably to be expected... Her eyes widened slightly as she saw Kana suddenly begin having doubts, considering the fact they could be dead. Karin sighed, hands still on Kana's shoulders as she stared into the girls eyes without blinking. "Kana, you remember that night when we were little? I was seven, you were six... It was on the news about a break in. Two people were killed and the murderer was never found. That was my family. My parents were the victims." Her ears drooped almost against her head now as she stared sadly at Kana. She'd kind of expected this response, but she couldn't say she was prepared to face it. She sighed, pulling her into a comforting hug. "Please, don't worry. This is why I couldn't tell you. And there was no way I could live with you and your mom. You had enough trouble as it was."

Sora looked up at the boy whom was asking her a question. She blinked a few times, and replied, "I'm sorry, but I'm waiting for somebody." she stood up and bowed saying one again, "Very sorry, sir." She looked around, searching for Ayame and Hikari, because she just remembered that they were supposed to meet her here. "Mabey they're already there..." She thought aloud. So she took off .

Suka watched them talk and as Kana denied what Karin had told her Suka closed his eyes completely. He stood with his tail leaning against the trunk of the tree he stood by. She did not sound like she was lying when she told me about it...hmm He thought this to himself and then realising that his eyes were closed he uickly shot them open, eyelids dropping again to only half open. He felt that soon his need for sleep would end again as it did s many times before. What he'd done while he left was partially the reason that it was taking such a long time for him...the moon would soon be new and then he would be able to sleep...if he wasn't too busy again.

Zuno sighed and sat at the now empty bench. So far he hadn't made a single friend or even talked to anybody, mind Sora. Zuno took out a book from his bag entitled Healing and White Magic and began to read. I wonder if I will make any friends? he though to himself from his book as he sighed again.
