More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

The troops render a quite salute and go to make good on their order.

Elsewhere, the rat scampers through the walls over the pipes faster than a regular rodent should be able to. It could hear thing closing, people moving, but more importantly it's chance of finding a human to consume much more slim. It needed a place to hide.

It slips into the dorm of one of the guards through a hole in the wall made by another rodent. It looks around and spots a cage on a table with a guinea pig in it. It starts moving toward the door when it hears a large number of voices on the other side. Acting on instinct it leaps onto the table with the cage and morphs into it's base shapeless form. The guinea pig squeals and claws at the opposite end of the cage in a frenzy.

A fire wielding meta-human named North opens the door into his dorm while his partners do the same in theirs. He shuts the door behind him and looks around his room. He thought he had heard his pet crying out, but it appeared to be just fine once he looked at it.

North goes to all of his vents and closes them off. He then shoves a large dresser in front of the hole in the wall where he had found his escaped little friend.

He keys up his mic, about to say that his room is secure, when he is caught off guard by his guinea pig bursting through the cage with a gaping maw of teeth aimed at his face. He dodges to the side and runs to his door in a panic, only to be beaten to it by the creature.

Over the hand radios there is a bone chilling broadcast of screeching, explosions, and yelling. The guard closest to Trinity shouts, "Ms. Smith, it's North. He's engaged the creature, and the others can't get into his dorm."

While Deora still felt sour towards her own parents, she couldn't help but feel bad for Kerana's. She was about to say something about it when the warning sirens sounded. Deora instinctively jumped to her feet before stopping to think. "What's going on?" She asked, mentally preparing to either run or fight, whatever the situation called for.

The guard closest to Trinity shouts, "Ms. Smith, it's North. He's engaged the creature, and the others can't get into his dorm."

Trinity let out a curse and hit the wall. She followed the soldier to his dorm and heard the struggle. She was hoping that it would go back the way it came and let it be her fight, not get someone else involved. She texts Gidget "It's attacking North... I'm going in to get him out... Call me if you have any ideas on how to stop it"

She swallows hard hoping that North is still there to save. Then she fell through her shadow. She emerges to the bathroom and steps into the room she breaths out then calls out "Hey! I thought you were looking for me?"

Trinity gets the creature's attention and it turns it's monstrous face toward her with a roaring hiss. North takes the opprotunity and launches a stream of fire at the creature like a flame thrower while. The thing lights up and mewls in agony. It attempts to wiggle away but doesn't make it more than a few feet before stopping and slowly burning to nothing.

North falls back onto the wall, shaking with the adrenaline still in his system, and the fight itself scaring the hell out of him. He slides down and sits, his eyes focusing on the little burning flesh pile, halfway expecting it to spring back to life.

Justine paused and winced once more. "I'm okay... It just... hurts a little." She frowned as she rubbed her hands along her arms. She turned to Gigdet. "What was all that about anyways? What's wrong?"

Gidget's arms continue to do their work as she speaks. "We had an incident. A foreign bio-substance was attacking Trinity. It exhibited traits that are similar to an extremely dangerous meta-human that we have incarcerated here. Rather than take a chance at someone being hurt, I felt it necessary to alert the facility and have everyone remain in their dorms or places of work."

Gidget gets an update from the security commander stating that the creature has been neutralized. She sends a confirmation message and turns the alarms off, ending the alert. She patches her voice into the PA system and speaks to the facility in a chipper tone. "Sorry for the scare everyone, just had a bit of a mishap is all. Everything is just fine now."

Trinity smiled at North's move. She had plan to buy time while North escaped but him roasting the thing while it was distracted, that was a better plan. "the blob was toasted" Trinity texted and sent a picture to Gidget, in case she hadn't obtained a visual. She suspected that she may know more about the substance and would warn her if that didn't stop it.

While keeping her eyes on the blob as she walked by the blob she approaches North, "Good move. You okay?" she holds out her hand out to help him up.

She paused for a moment. Something Gigdet said didn't sit with her well,. but she needed to push sit aside for now. Whatever it was, it had been taken care of. She took a deep breath to try to calm the rest of her nerves and looked to Gigdet. "So, after you give me the gift of sight again, maybe I could get a tour of the place?"

Gidget beams at Justine, "Oh yea without a doubt. This is the best place to go if you need help getting a handle on your powers. By the way, what color would you like your eyes to be?"

The message and picture from Trinity appear in her HUD. She texts back with a "well done" and awaits Justine's answer.

North jumps slightly when Trinity's hand is offered to him. He shakily takes it and pulls himself up. "Yea, I...it looked like my pet, and...oh god what was that thing?"

"Well... if I remember, I had brown eyes." She tilted her head to the side and bit onto her bottom lip. "I'm pretty sure that they were brown." She sighed. "It strange to think about the color of my eyes...." She laughed softly as she ran her hands through her hair. "What about you, what color where your eyes?"

Gidget's actions pause again, this time for almost a second. Her brow furrows as she tries to remember, but can't seem to. "Huh...I honestly can't remember. For the last thirteen years I've been changing them to whatever color I wanted. Come to think of it the way I look now is just a computerized approximation of what I would look like as an adult."

"Oh." Justine smiled softly. "That's okay.... " She cocked her head to the side once more as she linked her hands together. She wasn't really sure what to do or say at this point. So instead, she sat back and let Gigdet work.

Gidget's limbs place a feux gelatinous coating around the eyes and then set's them in place with a shell. They then retracted back into her arms, quickly followed by her arms returning to their normal state. She wiggles her fingers around and picks up one of the eyes. She smiles, proud of how real this looks. It's indistinguishable from the real thing to anyone who doesn't already know it's false. The pupils even expand and contract based on how much sound need to be released.

She turns around and holds it out for Justine to "look" at. "It is complete. I don't usually like to toot my own horn, but this turned out better than I had thought."

She stood straight and paused. She couldn't see them well, but they looked good enough to her. She smiled brightly. "Wow.. I'm going to have eyes.... not just glass eyes. But real eyes...." She laughed softly.
