More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Gidget felt memories flash that would suggest that she is becoming agitated or angry. When she first met this man he was a friend, someone she could trust. Now he is in league with the enemy.

"Maker? Doctor I consider you the man who killed my brother. That thing that broke out of here yesterday is not Shane. And I hardly allowed him to escape. He's evolved since you last bothered to take notes on him. Something that I am sure you are proud of."

"But yes, I have called you about him. I recovered your archived video logs concerning the process that made him into what he is. Do you remember?"

"He is as much the real Shane Morris as you are the real Agatha Morris."

"Ahh yes, Project Pandora. Despite it being a failure it provided me with so much data." Leonard sound delighted as he said it." How I would love to take him apart and see why all of this has happened to him. I take it your are interested in the progress?" He took another drag from his cigarette. It seemed he had no problem in talking about a failed project.

"Something like that. Listen...would it be possible for you and I to meet? Nothing fishy, just a meeting of the minds in regards to Shane."  

[Nova Blancke]

"No" Leonard replied directly after she had asked.

"Because of a few...circumstances. Shane is out to kill me or so we assume he is. He in turn is accompanied by Ms.Soulsmith. Both are currently destroying one of our facilities. Which is also one of the reasons why I cannot and will not leave my...well equipped prison."

"That aside, I simply do not trust Meta's. Now tell me...why and what do you want to know about that project."

Gidget had figured this would be his reaction. And after cutting off access to the tracer she can't locate him either.

"I can assure you that they are not after you. And if Shane wanted to kill you he had eight years to do it."

"Doctor, you made my brother into what he is. What I want to know is if there is a way to unmake him? You said it yourself, the process that created him was a failed experiment. Well that failure is continuing to evolve and become stronger. Twelve years ago when the project was canceled you had a fairly finite idea of what he was capable of. Twelve years ago he couldn't split his biomass from himself and create another living organism. Does that sort of replicating behavior ring familiar to another life form?"

There was a silence on the other end as Leonard was stunned by what she had said. Was this true? Could he really do that?

"My God...if what you are saying is true then...." Another pause." Well this complicates things. Let's hope he won't come up with further applications for that ability. Although knowing his brilliant mind, he will eventually."

Another drag from his cigarette." I know of plenty of ways to destroy him but to reverse the process is a whole different matter. Like all Meta's the mutation is in his genes. We'd have to nuke his bone marrow but I am not even sure if that would work. We have been working on something to destroy the mutation on genetic level but Shane's immune system would get in the way......." Leonard began to think out loud. This most certain had his full attention

If Gidget could tremble with fright then now would be the time. The idea struck her during the night when she was in sleep mode. Replication, regeneration, living off of other living organisms. Shane had become a walking virus.

"Please Doctor. You must know what my condition is. If I have to I'll come to you in another body. Shane's mind is slowly losing out to the effects of the experiment. It wont be long until he acts on instinct alone. Your mistrust of metahumans can wait until we deal with the one you helped make."

"If you don't mind, I'll take my leave now." Theonis said and turned around."I don't need to hear this..." He gave a quick look at Trinity."You coming or staying?"

Trinity weighed her choices for a moment. She was rather curious to hear of any other possible weakness Shane may have. Her eyes looked to Theonis, but she was rather certain that Gidget would update her on the details later. On top of that she had to have that epiphany before she could get back to training. As the phone rang she waved to Gidget as she went with Theonis. "Coming." she merely said in answer to his question.

Leonard was weighing his options.

"Very well...I shall see what I can do. A different body would be more appropriate." This was too interesting to pass up. " I am sure we can at least a few answers.


"Thanks" He thanked Trinity and left with her." I never...wanted to realize that my father was who he really is. I...hope this hasn't changed anything between us. I can kind of understand if it did and I wouldn't blame you for it"

Leonard was weighing his options.

"Very well...I shall see what I can do. A different body would be more appropriate." This was too interesting to pass up. " I am sure we can at least a few answers.

Gidget instinctively sighs with relief. She looks over to see that she is now alone. She surmises that she must've been so preoccupied that she didn't notice Trinity and Theonis leave. Ah well, she thinks, Trinity will forgive me.

"Thank you Doctor. You're the one who's under watch. How do you want to do this?"

"Thanks" He thanked Trinity and left with her." I never...wanted to realize that my father was who he really is. I...hope this hasn't changed anything between us. I can kind of understand if it did and I wouldn't blame you for it"

Trinity placed her hand on his chin causing him to stop and face her. She looks into his eyes deeply then said,"Here's what I've got to say about that..." with that she kissed him deeply then let him go.

"I never knew who your father was when we met and even though it has been revealed to me what your father did he still is not you. From what I can tell you don't want to be anything like him. That right there is good enough for me.

Yet there will still come a day when you have to face him and I will be there by your side to support you when you do."

"I'm luck to have you Trin. Thanks" He said to her "Say..I'm not sure if I asked already but..how did the training go?"

"Well when I require something or..someone I simply instruct them to provide me with it. They usually do. I suggest that you come over like a little rabbit into the lair of a dragon. Take a different body but do not take one that is too hi-tech. It will stand out and catch the interest of some other fanatical people in here. I shall come up with a story for you"

"Unless you have a different idea."

Nothing too high tech eh? "Alright, but I'm warning you now. If you or anyone else tries something funny while I am there they are going to be sorely disappointed. Any secrets to my power are with the corpse that used to be me. Is that clear?"

Oh we are still working on that

"Don't you worry about that. We are aware." He replied

"Tomorrow morning, let's say...at eight, you will give me a call and you can trace your way here. Upon arrival you shall be escorted to me. That is the best that I can do in this situation."

Gidget doesn't like the idea of going in without her tech. But then again she has time to remedy her situation between now and eight tomorrow. "That will be fine. I'll give you a description of my appearance tomorrow when I call. Oh, one more question Doctor. Five years ago Shane told me that he had killed everyone involved in your experiment. Since you're still alive, how true is that statement?"
