More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Deora nodded and crossed her arms as they waited for Kerana. She was slowly getting over her frustration, but she was still impatient. It seemed like forever before Kerana came back out wearing her swimsuit. Deora couldn't help but smile a bit at how happy the girl seemed to always be. "Well, now that my target's ready, I guess we can start, right?"

Shane presses a key on the digital console. A keyboard unfolds itself from the tube and presents itself to Shane. "Yes...and not one of the people I just consumed knew how to safely remove her." Shane says, his voice trembling with raw emotion. "I'm so close, but if I screw this up she'll..."

His fingers hover over the keyboard for a moment before they fall prey to Shane's nerves as well. "I can't lose her again Annie. I refuse to let that happen. My path here has been paved in blood, and I haven't a single regret. So why wont my hands stop shaking.".

Annie was a sociology major and not a psychology major in college for a reason, giving people answers they wanted or needed wasn't her forte. Biting her lip she glanced towards Gidget's body and then to Shane she said after composing an answer, "For once all your intellect and powers have hit a brick wall. You're so close you can taste it but you can't make a move for the risk of ruining everything. Or at least that is my theory. Someone who knows the code to get her out without ruining everything has to be somewhere in this facility. It isn't like the Daedalus Project to discard test subjects."

As the Meta made his way towards Alexander's cell he became more focused on his goal as Alexander's whispers grew inside of his head. This Meta who could manipulate the wind wanted to free Alexander. It was all that he could think about. It was his life's purpose. At least that is how he felt about it.

A guard ran up to him ordering him to stop.

"Kill him....he is in your way. He doesn't want you to help her. He's a bad guy."
Without hesitation the Meta sprung into action. A sudden burst of wind knocked the guard against the wall. The Meta repeated this process a few times until the guard was no more.

"Good boy....now keep moving. We are almost free."

"That sounds good." Deora said as she looked over the pool. It occurred to her that she didn't have a swimsuit, but the fact didn't bother her much. After being on the streets for a few months, she was used to having wet clothes. "What do I do until someone comes by, though?" She asked.

Shane wordlessly agrees with Annie. There is something in his mind that is itching at him. Only it isn't his mind, it is the collective unconscious of those he has consumed. Specifically the techs and scientists.

His eyes go blank, as if he is staring at something that is 100 meters in front of him. "They are trying to tell me something, but they are also hiding it. Like fragments, or..."

His hands drift over the keys listlessly. He brings up a holographic display that shows nine designs. He selects one. Another set of nine appears, he selects on from there. A third set appears.

"None of them could open this individually. It requires input from the entire team to release her." His eyes focus, his body motivated with a renewed vigor. It doesn't take him long to input the other seven designs.

They shuffles them, and they overlay to display the logo Daedalus uses. There is a beep and a hiss. There viscus fluid from within the tube drains and brings Gidget into full view.

The robotic body her soul had constructed was not far off. Her face is a bit more slender, her frame petite yet feminine. Her brown hair is long enough to reach down to her calves, tangled and frayed from years of being unkempt. Her chest and right arm show visible scars from where reconstructive surgery was done.

The front panel of the glass tube slides open as the braces holding her in release her. She stumbles out and into Shane's arms. He cradles her and lowers her to the ground gently. She starts to cough profusely, her eyes wide with panic. She turns his head to Annie and shouts, "Get something to cover her with!"

He returns his attention to his sister and wipes her hair from her eyes. "Gidge, it's me Shane. Your brother."

Her vision is clouded. She wants to wonder why, but can't think of how to do it. She looks up at the person in front of her. There is something familiar about him, but she can't think of why. His face brings up a feeling inside of her. She likes it. Her lips spread into an awkward and confused smile as she raises a hand to his face.

"AAhhh...ooooeh. Ssshhhh."

Shane's eyes well up with tears. They trail down his face and onto his sister's brow. She touches the curious bits of moisture streaming from his face. He brings her head to his shoulder and sobs. "Oh...what did they do to you?"

As Shane holds his sister against him he reaches out to her with his power. He can feel her mind, or rather a lack of something. Then the tumblers fall into place. He puts his emotions aside for a moment to use his analytic mind.

He cradles Gidget in his arms and turns in a run toward Annie. "Annie wait, hold the elevator! I know what's wrong with her! We have to go!"

Annie's eyes widened as she stuck a foot in between the closing elevator door, the door popping back open. "I'm glad someone figured this out, because right now I am out for blood- well more blood. It is one thing to experiment on me, it is another thing entirely to experiment on a friend."

Her brown eyes softened as she met Shane's gaze and she said, "Do you have a plan getting out of here? Right now I think we both angered some of the meta-humans in worrying about our priorities over them. Truth be told, though," she said tossing her auburn hair over her shoulder, "you and I broke out more than enough for them to take care of themselves. They just want a hero- and that I don't think either of us can be that. Not with Gidget in the state she is in."

Annie's eyes widened as she stuck a foot in between the closing elevator door, the door popping back open. "I'm glad someone figured this out, because right now I am out for blood- well more blood. It is one thing to experiment on me, it is another thing entirely to experiment on a friend."

Her brown eyes softened as she met Shane's gaze and she said, "Do you have a plan getting out of here? Right now I think we both angered some of the meta-humans in worrying about our priorities over them. Truth be told, though," she said tossing her auburn hair over her shoulder, "you and I broke out more than enough for them to take care of themselves. They just want a hero- and that I don't think either of us can be that. Not with Gidget in the state she is in."

Shane focuses on the collective unconscious. "They are waiting for us on the surface. They are going to use the exits as choke points to kill any metahumans attempting to escape. The only viable option is the roof. This is the tallest building in the city so they can't cover the roof with sniper fire. The only problem with the roof is the helicopters they have inbound. They wont be able to scramble more than three at once or risk midair collision and crossfire."

He looks down at Gidget, who regards him with an empty smile. He looks into Annie's eyes and states. "I am trusting you with her safety when we make it to the top floor. I can hijack one of the choppers we can get us out."

The only viable option is the roof. This is the tallest building in the city so they can't cover the roof with sniper fire. The only problem with the roof is the helicopters they have inbound. He looks down at Gidget, who regards him with an empty smile. He looks into Annie's eyes and states. "I am trusting you with her safety when we make it to the top floor. I can hijack one of the choppers we can get us out."

Annie nodded and biting her lip spoke up, "I'll do what I can. I should warn you, however, I am already near the limits of my powers. I had a healer give me a bit of a power boost but it hasn't brought me even near one hundred percent."

Her brown eyes hardened as she kept Shane's gaze, "However, you should know me well enough to know I will die fighting to protect Gidget if I have to." Looking away she muttered under her breath, more than likely too low for Shane to hear unless he was closely listening, "Hell, I might die fighting to protect her considering the situation."

Deora looked around at the target, but still she hesitated. They made it sound easy enough, but she'd never consciously done anything really worth practicing. She'd filled an alleyway with fog using only the water from a small puddle, she'd kept herself dry in the rain, even while sleeping, but she'd never been in control. All she had been able to do consciously was slosh water around a cup or bowl.

She couldn't let that stop her, though. She had to try. She nodded to Kerana's challenge and got into a fighting stance, feet shoulder width apart, knees bent, focused intently on the pool behind her friend. She did what she'd done before, and tried to feel the water, even though it was a few feet away. As she moved her hands, she could almost feel a bit of resistance, and the water being Kerana stared to move as though invisible hands were running through it. When she thought she had it, Deora attempted to make a wave, moving the water back a bit before pulling her hand towards herself. It felt as though the water would break over the side of the pool and soak her friend, but in reality barely a splash made it onto the concrete, only wetting the girl's feet.

Annie nodded and biting her lip spoke up, "I'll do what I can. I should warn you, however, I am already near the limits of my powers. I had a healer give me a bit of a power boost but it hasn't brought me even near one hundred percent."

Her brown eyes hardened as she kept Shane's gaze, "However, you should know me well enough to know I will die fighting to protect Gidget if I have to." Looking away she muttered under her breath, more than likely too low for Shane to hear unless he was closely listening, "Hell, I might die fighting to protect her considering the situation."

Shane shakes his head and says, "You aren't going to die today. I promised your son safely returned to you, and I can't very well do that if you're dead. Just stay out of sight until the shooting from the choppers stop. That'll either mean I've succeeded and secured us an escape, or that they've done the near impossible and managed to kill me."

"If things go south here, please take Gidget back to Valhalla as soon as possible. The more stimuli she is exposed to, the harder it will be to fix her."

Shane shakes his head and says, "You aren't going to die today. I promised your son safely returned to you, and I can't very well do that if you're dead. Just stay out of sight until the shooting from the choppers stop. That'll either mean I've succeeded and secured us an escape, or that they've done the near impossible and managed to kill me."

"If things go south here, please take Gidget back to Valhalla as soon as possible. The more stimuli she is exposed to, the harder it will be to fix her."

"You might not have to worry about your own demise, but I am worried about my own," Annie said. "I can't even go liquid right now without possibly endangering my health. And if I am protecting or carrying someone I most definitely cannot use my liquid form."

"My greatest defenses and offenses are down right now, or might as well be," Annie told Shane. "I have a right to be worried."

Sighing as the elevator slowed to a stop she added, "If you want Gidget to be exposed to as little stimuli as possible you better knock her out. This fight to escape is going to be a Hell of a lot of stimuli."
