As for Wolverine, everyone I know says it's a great movie, even though they go fanboy and point out where they messed up in the story. Wolverine and Sabertooth were not brothers, I do know that.
As for the Ghost in the Shell movie, that was the first I had heard of it, but I looked it up on IMDB. Not much info on it yet, but it's squealed for a 2011 release.
Here's an artical I found on Google search.
scifimoviepage.com A live-action 3-D remake of the 1995 anime movie Ghost in the Shell. The film will be made by DreamWorks and it is apparently Steven Spielberg's own involvement that made this project go through. "Ghost in the Shell is one of my favorite stories," Spielberg said. "It's a genre that has arrived, and we enthusiastically welcome it to DreamWorks." No production date or other details are known at this stage. Ghost in the Shell is set in the not-too-distant future, when an unnamed government uses lifelike cyborgs or "enhanced" humans for undercover work. One of the key cyborgs is The Major, Motoko Kusanagi, who resembles a cross between The Terminator and a Playboy centerfold. She finds herself caught up in a tangled web of espionage and counterespionage as she searches for the mysterious superhacker known as "The Puppet Master." At this point, I'm not sure how much stock you should put in this artical.
I did find out that Sony has bought the US movie rights to Blood: The Last Vampire and plans a Live Action version of the series. They already have one made to be released in Japan on May 29th under the title "Last Blood".

Well Ookami, I didn't know that you liked the Wheel of Time. I've been reading it since 99 or 2000, something like that. But this is not the end of Wheel of Time. They split Jordan's last book (Memory of Light) into three books. Gathering Storm is the first and to Center around Rand and Egwene. All three are to be released in a two year period. And as I pointed out earlier, Universal Pictures is planing to make the first book "Eye of the World" into a movie.
Also, lot of news here. They have released three new posters for Transformers 2. They are of Starscream, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. Click here too look at them.
Alex Litvak (The Hunting Party[what ever that is])is going to pen the Predators remake/reboot/prequel/squeal. He will take and rewrite from an original script that Robert Rodriguez (Planet Terror, Sin City, The Faculty) wrote years ago (according to Screen Rant). Rodriguez is to direct the new film Bloody Disgusting The reboot to the classic 80’s action/horror flick Predator is being penned as a “sequel” and will follow a team of commandoes who face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters.
Chris Morgan (Wanted, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious ) talks Wanted 2 and Gears of War to MTV News
Chris Morgan and MTV On Wanted 2: We knew we wanted to do ‘Wanted 2,’ so we started developing a take and came up with a story that’s pretty good and develops the characters,” said Morgan. “But in the process of developing it, I also had commitments to ‘Gears of War’ and the samurai movie I’m doing at Universal.” According to Morgan, Spiliotopoulos will provide the script for the story initially envisioned during the “Wanted 2? planning process, and Morgan will return later to consult and provide any rewrites that might be necessary. “Evan is going to go ahead and write the story that we came up with and I’m probably going to come on later,” said Morgan. “So, I’m still part of the process, but I didn’t want to hold up the ‘Wanted’ production schedule.” On Gears of War: “A draft went in and we’re talking about it now and we’re budgeting it out,” Morgan told MTV. “It’s looking incredibly good.” “I think the gamer side is going to be thrilled with it,” said Morgan. “All the stuff you want to see, we put that in there and then we blow it out a little more, even. Now it’s just a matter of honing in on all of the character arcs and determining production types of things.” For the uninitiated, “Gears of War” centers on the members of Delta Squad, an elite squadron that consists of rough-and-tough, chew-your-guts-out types of soldiers. Players assume the roles of Marcus Fenix, an ex-convict, and Dominic Santiago, a hardened soldier, as the squadron wages war against an insurgent alien race called the Locust Horde — a deadly collective that’s already promised to surface heavily in the film. “It’s huge,” Morgan declared of the project’s scope. “One of the things they’re really talking about now is the budget of the film and how big of a spectacle this is going to be. My argument is, look at the underlying material. Look at the game and the scenario — the fact that the world is being taken over by the Locust, it has to be huge.”
Kevin Feige (President of Production at Marvel Studios) did an interveiw with Empire about Thor, Captian America and The Avengers.
Keiv Freige On Thor: “We will probably be having cast announcements in the next month or so on Thor,” he told us. “We’re looking to cast Loki and Odin soon, and the main female role. And we’ll also hopefully have lockdown shortly, gearing towards the beginning of production, which will be early next year. So I think there will be a lot of announcements between now and then.” “But [director Kenneth] Branagh’s here, we’re prepping, and he’s put together some spectacular animatics already for our first action scene. We’re digging into the second and third now, and we are just embarking on a rewrite of the draft.” On The Avengers: “Zak Penn is already on board The Avengers [as writer] and he’s spending a lot of his time looking into what we’re doing with Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, seeing how we’re tying it all together. And he’s beginning to outline the script now – he’ll be doing that over the summer.” “All of the Marvel movies leading up to The Avengers will be based in our new facility in Manhattan Beach, in LA. There will be location work that will take us out occasionally, but our home base will always be here. “ He also noted that Captain America will begin filming in Summer 2010.
Ryan Reynolds is attached to reprise the character for what for now is simply being called Deadpool. Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel Studios would act as producers. They are currently looking for writers for the project.
And on a sad note, actor Don DeLuise passed away in his sleep on Monday, May 4 in a Los Angeles, California hospital. He was 75.
So there you go, a lot of movie news.

Ok, here's an update to some movie news.
comingsoon.net McCarthy to Direct Dinklage in HBO's Thrones Source: The Hollywood Reporter May 6, 2009 Tom McCarthy has come aboard to direct HBO's fantasy pilot "Game of Thrones," on which the star of his first feature, The Station Agent's Peter Dinklage, has been tapped for a key role. Based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling "Songs of Fire and Ice" novels, "Thrones" is described as an epic struggle for power set in a vast and violent fantasy kingdom. Dinklage will play Tyrion, the Queen's brother who is treated as an outsider because of his size. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss wrote the pilot script and are executive producing.

On the HBO's Thorns, I'm not sure. I haven't read the books but a friend of mine told me about them years ago and I've been wanting to read them ever sense. I guess now I will have to.
As for the Eye of the World movie, I'm not too sure how it will turn out. There's so much stuff in that 600+ page book that it will be hard to fit much of it in. But they better keep Bela and Narg in it. When I started reading the series, I use to go to a site called wotmania. There they have theory's about what the future holds for the series. One claimed that Bela was the Creator and Narg the Dark One. I always thought that was funny. Bela being the Creator kind of makes sense because she is the only horse to be in all 11 books (all the other horses die too easily) and Narg is the only Trolloc to ever speak.
Sorry, I went kind of fan boy there, so here's some more movie news.
Karate Kid remake has had it's plot reveled.
Screen Rant So what about the plot of the movie? Well, according to a couple of people who are involved with the project, it’s similar in tone to the original, but differs greatly in a lot of areas. The story is about a single mother and her son Dre (young Smith) who move to Beijing, China because of her job. Needless to say, she and Dre find it difficult adjusting and before long, Dre starts getting bullied at school. Because of his bruises from being beaten up, the principal of the strict school he now attends thinks he has been the one picking the fights. The Mr. Myagi of the movie, who will now be called Mr. Han (played by Chan), is the maintenance man of the building Dre and his mother are living. After noticing Dre practicing martial arts in front of a video game, as well as his black eye, he agrees to train him in Kung Fu, as well as helping him learn Chinese. Click here for full plot details
Click here to see the first Pic of Brandon Routh as Dylan Dog from his new movie, Dead of Night.
Jon Favreau (Iron Man 2 directer) wrote some Iron Man updates via Twitter. (This was gotten from Comingsoon.net)
Jon Favreau Twitter Account May 1: "Wrecking the joint. Not much left of the set. Broken stuff everywhere. Should look cool on screen." May 4: "More suited destruction today. Rigging a big gag with lots of cameras." May 4: "ILM on set today. Doing a mix of practical suits and Imocap, their version of on set motion capture developed originally for Pirates 2." May 6: "Scarlett's first day on set in the Black Widow outfit. You've never heard a crew get so quiet so fast."
And finally, the one I like the most. Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad) did an interview with weird.com. Here is some of it.
Filmonic.com.net Seth MacFarlane recently spoke about plans for a Family Guy movie at a special event to celebrate the 100th episode of American Dad. He said that they are in the early stages of development, but the main problem is finding time to fit it in. “We want to do it,” MacFarlane told Wired.com. It wasn’t a grand, official announcement, but it was clear it’s more than a passing whim. “Fox wants it. We know what we want to do with it. It’s just a question of finding the time,” he said. “That’s why The Simpsons took so many years to do theirs. It wasn’t because they didn’t know what they wanted to do with it. They just couldn’t fit it into the schedule. “There’s so much to do for a weekly animated series — twice as much as you have to do for a live-action show. So, we’re finding time where we can. We’re in the early stages right now.” I can’t get enough of Family Guy so i’m all for a movie. The Simpsons Movie just seemed like an extra long episode, so hopefully Family Guy won’t fall into a similar trap. I love Family Guy so I can't wait for a movie to be released. Stewie is awsome.

Small movie news I thought everyone might like. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is doing a non-Disney movie.
Comingsoon.net Dwayne Johnson to Move Faster Source: Variety May 7, 2009 CBS Films is in final negotiations with Dwayne Johnson to star in Faster, an action drama that will be Johnson's next film, reports Variety. The movie will be helmed by Phil Joanou, who directed Johnson in Gridiron Gang. Joe and Tony Gayton wrote the script. Johnson will play an ex-con bent on avenging the death of his brother, murdered 10 years earlier when the two were double-crossed during a heist. Shooting is set to begin in August.

Ok, 4 quick movie news. First one is stupid.
Comingsoon.net Guitar Hero to Become Reality TV Show? Source: The Hollywood Reporter May 7, 2009 Activision Blizzard's popular video game "Guitar Hero" could become a reality TV show and/or a real-life concert tour, says The Hollywood Reporter. Activision is also looking to turn the "World of Warcraft" and "Call of Duty" games into movies. About the "Guitar Hero" franchise, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick said, "It might make for a good TV show or a good concert tour." "Guitar Hero" and "Call of Duty" in the first quarter were two of the Top 5 best-selling franchises across all video game platforms in Europe and the U.S. "World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King" was the top PC game, in terms of revenue, in the U.S. A Warcraft movie has been in development at Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures for some time. I already hate reality shows, do they have to bore us with another one?
It now seems like director Brett Ratner is no longer with the Conan movie. Empire did an interview with Joe Gatta (Conan's head producer) who said they were now hiring a director. Ratner was the announced director now for six months. Oh wel, easy come and easy go, but they better do good on this movie.
The last two I'll combine into one, since they both concern one iron detective. Four pictures of Robert Downey Jr. have been posted online. The fist link is of him in the new Sherlock Holmes movie and contains three images from the film. The other link is of RDJ in full Iron Man armor for People.
Hope you liked the mini movie news.

Well Manda, here is some more that everyone might like.
On an update to the pictures of Robert Downey Jr, here are some more from that set of pics, including Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury. Click here to see them.
Comingsoon.net has the new trailer for Blood: The Last Vampire. Directed by Chris Nahon, the horror-action-thriller stars Gianna Jun, Allison Miller, Masiela Lusha, JJ Feild and Koyuki. Comingsoon.net Blood Trailer
Here's a small update for The Wolfman. This is from Flmonic who recieved it from Dark Horizian.
Dark Horizons Vic Armstrong, the legendary stuntman, stunt coordinator and second unit director of everything from James Bond to Indiana Jones, appeared this past Saturday at the British Film Institute’s BFI Bond Weekender event celebrating the late 007 franchise producer Cubby Brocolli’s 100th birthday. In attendance was ‘Glenn’ who got in touch and sent along this report of one little factoid that Armstrong let slip: “He was mostly talking his work with the Bond franchise but he mentioned he’d just come from the set of ‘The Wolf Man’ at Pinewood Studios shooting some new action scene that was being added to the film. He was very vague, he didn’t say what capacity (if any?) he was serving on the project but did say the crew were working six day weeks on this sequence. He described the scene as a fight scene between two werewolves involving a fair amount of CG with them going up the walls and other bits of business, and that they had to marry it up to scenes shot earlier”
And now for the conclusion to this movie news update. To end it, we stop on Vin Diesel.
Screen Rant The latest is a live-action adaptation of The Wheelman, which is set to star Vin Diesel and be directed by John Singleton. The game was just launched last month, and it also features the likeness, voice and producing force of Diesel himself. It’s extremely basic storyline is of an experienced getaway driver who comes out of retirement to help a woman from his past. The script for the film was originally written by Rich Wilkes (who wrote xXx, which Singleton also directed), but has been rewritten by writing team Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell. It will be produced by Diesel himself (as he did with the game) along with Lorenzo di Benaventura. The studio developing/releasing the project will be Paramount Pictures. Click here to read the full rant (and yes this guy rants on the evils of games to movies shows).
