I think that shopping area grew way too fast & they never got the streets down in there sorted properly.
Actually, I don't like that Sam's much. The ones in Greensboro, Hickory, and Durham are much better.
Yeah, I'll be going home for a few days sometime between now & the middle of August, when Fall semester starts at ACC.
I'd love to go see Biltmore House, but I can't afford it. Mom would too, but Dad refuses to go because it's so expensive.
Go have a look at their website. They have a calendar with events & even rates listed on it so you can see when is the least expensive to go (in January, actually).

lol Yeah first they do it, then they realize they should have maybe consulted someone with knowledge of city planning.
I saw an hour long tv special on Christmas at Biltmore House. It was amazing. Yup I know it's expensive. I figure I'll go once, take lots of photos and then take them out and look at them every Christmas. That ought to average out to pennies a year. Assuming I live a nice long time. That's my plan anyway.
The other thing I want to do in Western NC is go to the gingerbread contest in Asheville. People fly in from all over the US to enter. The Food Network does pretty good shows on it. The gingerbread houses are fantastic!! Can you imagine how the room smells with all that candy and gingerbread?!!
