More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"And I thought you were the level headed one," muttered Annie. She glanced down at her son who had already closed his eyes and was sleeping. Poor thing must have been exhausted. A crease of worry was in his little forehead between his closed eyes.

She glanced up as Shane held the door for her and then she saw Gidget's face pressed against the glass. Annie's face paled and she was thankful the opinionated Christian had already fallen asleep. No doubt he would have had something to say on the matter.

Sighing, Annie headed to the car and asked quietly, "So when will we be able to take care of our second problem... getting Gidget her body?"

"Immediately. Now we make the long trek back to Valhalla. Once we can get her and the machine together, with the proper equipment, she should be able to get her mind back. I'll explain on the way. Will he be okay to ride without a booster chair or anything?"

"I can carry him for now, but we should get one for him soon," Annie replied, placing the sleeping child on her hip she opened the car door. "And I need food soon, I am absolutely famished. I use a lot of calories whenever I use my power for any length of time and I have a fast metabolism." Forcing a smile she joked, "Helps me keep my figure at least... we can stop at McDonalds or whatever, I'm not that picky."

As she got into the car she muttered more to herself than anyone else, "And I would kill for a hot shower and a change in clothes..." Wincing at her word choice and glancing back at the large house she added, "Perhaps that isn't the best choice in words, but regardless it sounds nice."

She lowers her hands and looks at the others. "For now I'd suggest you guys get some sleep. It is late, and tomorrow is going to be rough. Until I get back with whatever I can manage from Dr. Acula, I'd like you guys to ease the transfer progress for the metas from Matron's safe house that will be coming in tomorrow. They are going to be tired, frightened, and in a strange place. The big guy concerns me especially. I received some information on his earlier, and he's one of the rare cases where meteor radiation has attacked his mind. Despite his size he has the mentality of a young child."

Trinity nodded at what Gidget requested, "Sorry for the alarm everyone. Kerana and Deora, you don't have to worry about this. Though if I find that I do need your assistance, I'll let you know. Theonis you may need to be on stand by, I'll be sure to inform you of further details. That'll be all, goodnight". She yawned and stretched apparently she was a little more tired than she thought.

"Well alright if you say so." He said to Gidget.

He remember the big guy. Since him and Trinity went up against him. That big yet so fast. It was strange if when you thought about it but Meta powers tend to do strange stuff. That thought was quickly replaced by something else as he saw Trinity yawn. Seems she was also tired. Although he wasn't as tired as her perhaps she could stay at with him for the night.

"You uh..could stay at my place. Since we need to get up at the same time for sparring." Theonis said casually. He really did not feel awkward for asking in public. Why would he be? After all she is his girlfriend. " Convenient excuse I know."

Shane climbs into the drivers seat while Gidget continues to mess around with things in the back seat. At the moment she was very entertained by her unusually long hair. Shane pulls the car away from the house and starts to head into town to get some food.

"I'll need to get money somehow. The motel owners card accounts are probably frozen by now."

Annie smiled slightly, "You forget I called my father earlier to wire money to me at the next convenient possibility. Knowing him he'll stay in town until I get back to him. He trusts me too much..."

She opens the glove compartment and begins rummaging through it, before she smiled triumphantly as she pulled out a cell phone. Calmly she dialed her father's cell phone number. It was answered on the second ring, "Dad..." she paused as the voice on the other line began a long lecture. Sighing she closed her eyes listening before she finally interrupted him, "About the money..." There was an answer and Annie's eyes widened and she nodded silently before speaking up, "Yes... I see. Thanks."

Closing the phone she bit back the curses she was thinking. "So much for that idea... it looks like I get my fifteen minutes of fame. Apparently the national news are broadcasting both of our faces, saying we're both highly dangerous and led a terrorist attack on a secure government facility."

"Anyhow, we can always do what I did before on my way to Valhalla," Annie sighed thankful that Christian was still asleep on her lap. "It isn't that hard to break into an ATM using my powers. Considering everything I've done, petty theft is a small matter."

Closing the phone she bit back the curses she was thinking. "So much for that idea... it looks like I get my fifteen minutes of fame. Apparently the national news are broadcasting both of our faces, saying we're both highly dangerous and led a terrorist attack on a secure government facility."

"Anyhow, we can always do what I did before on my way to Valhalla," Annie sighed thankful that Christian was still asleep on her lap. "It isn't that hard to break into an ATM using my powers. Considering everything I've done, petty theft is a small matter."

I've got the memories of some pretty shifty dealers in here somewhere. Between that and being able to change my face it will make things a bit easier."

Annie nodded, he was right. If Annie and Shane's face were being plastered on the television, then Shane was the best off. He at least could change how he looked at will. Quietly she replied, "Of course. And while we're running errands we should probably pick up some permanent hair dye for me." She stared at the tips of her auburn hair, a trait she had apparently inherited from her mother. She hated the idea of dying her hair but it was a precaution she had to take. Auburn stood out, and the less she stood out, she figured, the better.

The thought didn't occur to Trinity at first. The offer came unexpected she blushed a little. Originally she was thinking about her cozy light bed before the offer came up. She smiled at Theonis' offer. She thought there was no harm done doing something different. Her eyes looked toward his, then she answered what felt natural to her, forgetting who else was in the room "Sounds like a great idea to me...Just...don't take it the wrong way if I'm not there in the morning..." the first part had enthusiasm and the second sounded a little more somber.

Theonis smiled at her agreement and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"Why would I? You got an important job I am aware of that. Sure it'd be nice to wake up and cuddle a bit but when duty calls you gotta go. Thought we already went over that?" Theonis said positively.

"Actually, it isn't that... though I appreciate your understating on that side of things. I'll explain on the way over. Goodnight everyone.." she lead the way out of Gidget's lab and waited for him. When he caught up she continued,
"Y'see Theonis usually I sleep on a light bed, because in the past I had trouble staying in bed. Sometimes I end up in another room or another place or country entirely...or in the shadow realm... that's why I pointed it out." she said almost as if she was as embarrassed to admit it like one would about wetting the bed. She thought that the more she used her power the less likely it would happen. Then again it has been a while since she slept in a normal bed.

As Trinity left he looked at the others.

"Well..goodnight ladies." He said as took after Trinity.

As he heard her story he realized from the way she has said it before, other guys did take it the wrong way. Since his girlfriend needed help he would gladly do so. But it seems his brain had already taken that initiative before he could think about doing it.

"So...it's something you do subconsciously." There was a short moment of silence." Do you...truly feel at ease when you go to sleep or safe. Yes safe is a better word for it. I think it's a defense mechanism and seeing as you are almost the only one who can shadow travel...that world is pretty safe for you."

"You could...wear like a glowing anklet or something. Hard to shadow travel when there is light attached to your body right? You could try that." He explained. Right now it was all he could come up with.

She smiled at his efforts,"Sure if you don't mind waking up next to my foot. Thing is we've tried things like that here, even had tried with a chocker, bracelets, a belt and anklets and the results well..." she rubs her neck remembering, "It was quite uncomfortable... It was like some one was holding me up in mid air while the rest of my body is being pulled down."

She paused a moment and thought about his first question,"As for feeling safe when I sleep...? I know Valhalla is safe place and all with the troops and Gidget's high tech security system. Yet... I feel that a huge component of keeping things safe here is well...me. Since I've taken such a responsibility I haven't been at ease when I sleep at night. Heck Gidget would tell you that I've thrown shadow daggers at the door or door frame when she enters late at night, for in case one of those times it's not her...The last time I felt safe was..." she paused and looked at Theonis then looks away,"...well, originally was when I was living with my parents...But...since I met you...not to be romantic but to be honest... Was when I was in your embrace..."

The way she said it was just adorable. If all it would take for her to feel safe was for him to hold her, he would gladly oblige. He couldn't help blush a little as he looked away. It was the first time a girl said that to him.

"Well..." He said facing her again." I tend to hug people in my sleep so ..well.." He felt his heart beating and just couldn't say anything. His mind didn't know what to say next.

"This is a first...you just seem to take the words out of my mouth. All those thoughts about holding you..." He was slowly beginning to rant. But luckily for him they reached his place. He took a deep breath and opened the door for her.

Trinity stepped into the dark room and when the light turned on she was in her pajamas and ready for bed. She wore black short shorts and a dark plum tank top. "Heh, all set for bed..." she say as she stretched a little and yawned. "I guess I was so focused on the matter at hand earlier that I didn't realize how tired I was."
