More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"God you're fast...." He yawned as she did."Infectious yawns...." Despite him not being as tired she was he would still go to bed along with her. After all it was his proposal. Still...it felt..awkward.

"I know the feeling, it suddenly hit me as well right after...whats-her-name tried to aggressively seduce me." He said as he was taking off his shirt. Entering the bedroom he tossed his shirt aside. Although that being his intend he wasn't alone at the moment so that withheld him from doing so. But seeing as there wasn't any other place for him to ditch his clothes he just put them besides the bed on the floor. Same went for his shoes and pants. All that remained were his boxers. It was how he usually slept.

His bed was still messy from the tossing and turning from earlier. Hopping into bed he looked at Trinity. "For some reason I thought you'd be the first one in."

Trinity smiled with a shift of her weight and placed a hand on her hip then said, "Well seeing that it is your bed I thought it would be best if you pick which side you wanted." She dropped in her shadow and emerged from under the sheet. As she came up she placed small kisses up his neck.

Annie nodded, he was right. If Annie and Shane's face were being plastered on the television, then Shane was the best off. He at least could change how he looked at will. Quietly she replied, "Of course. And while we're running errands we should probably pick up some permanent hair dye for me." She stared at the tips of her auburn hair, a trait she had apparently inherited from her mother. She hated the idea of dying her hair but it was a precaution she had to take. Auburn stood out, and the less she stood out, she figured, the better.

Shane finds it difficult to fathom Annie without her hair being the color that it is. But she has a point.

"Okay, first thing's first. We need to secure some money for food and supplies. How much do you have available to you?"

Gidget smiles and shakes her head as the happy couple leaves. She turns her attention back to Deora and Kaylara.

"How have you girls been getting along? Are you finding this place satisfactory Deora?"

"I think I'm starting to warm up to it." Deora said. She had been about ot leave after Trinity and Theonis, but she'd hesitated, not knowing whether she wanted to go back to training or get some sleep. Ms. Gidget's question gave her a reason to stay there for a minute and try to decide, instead of wandering the halls until she came to either her room or the gym. "It is a little weird knowing that we're underground, though."

Shane finds it difficult to fathom Annie without her hair being the color that it is. But she has a point.

"Okay, first thing's first. We need to secure some money for food and supplies. How much do you have available to you?"

Annie sighed, "All my resources is back with my bag in Valhalla or in Georgia with my father. Like I said I have about two thousand with my father, but he won't be able to get it to me. And my bag... well, maybe when we reach Valhalla, but till then I am a bit up the creek without a paddle. I have about ten thousand in my bag there and a few changes of clothes."

She glanced outside, the sky was growing dark. It was getting late. She quickly rattled off her plan, "First ATM we see you break in. Then we grab some food from some drive-thru. You pick up supplies- hair dye, a booster seat, a change of clothes for me, maybe some food- from some mega store. And then you secure us a hotel room. After that I will come up, there I can dye my hair so I don't stand out as much."

Annie turned to glance at Shane, "Sound like a plan? All of that shouldn't take more than a few hours tops..." She leaned her head back, exhausted, but she didn't want to sleep. As her eyes closed they snapped open even more quickly, the accusing look of those she had killed staring back at her whenever she closed her eyes for long. It was going to be a long night.

To be honest Theonis did not see that one coming. He had expected her to come out of the shadow of the wall or something but not from under his sheets. Along with the kisses....it was a nice surprise.

"Oh hello." He simply said.

He wrapped his arms around her and pressed her against him. Brushing aside a bang that was in front of her eyes, he kissed her.

Annie turned to glance at Shane, "Sound like a plan? All of that shouldn't take more than a few hours tops..." She leaned her head back, exhausted, but she didn't want to sleep. As her eyes closed they snapped open even more quickly, the accusing look of those she had killed staring back at her whenever she closed her eyes for long. It was going to be a long night.

Shane glances at Annie just as she is nodding off and snaps herself out of it. He knows that feeling all too well. What's more, he knows exactly what she is experiencing by the look in her eyes.

"It never gets easy, does it? Trying to keep them quiet I mean."

"I think I'm starting to warm up to it." Deora said. "It is a little weird knowing that we're underground, though."

"It gets easier. I installed a simulated light system years ago so that people could tell when it was getting to be night time. You are free to go up to the surface whenever you feel like. You're one of the fortunate ones who don't have a physical change."

"Speaking of which, one of our newcomers tomorrow is a girl around your age. I've seen her file and her appearance can be a bit jarring at first, but she seems nice. I hope that you can help her and her brother feel as welcome as Kerana has to you."

Shane glances at Annie just as she is nodding off and snaps herself out of it. He knows that feeling all too well. What's more, he knows exactly what she is experiencing by the look in her eyes.

Annie turned, surprised, "Huh?" She managed before comprehending Shane's statement. Glancing down at Christian, she pushed his bangs out of his face, the movement gentle. "Yeah, it doesn't. I haven't been able to sleep well for thirteen years. Ever since the incident with Charles Ray's guard..."

Shrugging she glanced at Shane and said with a small smile, remembering his words when she had met Shane in his prison at Valhalla, "Anyhow, I didn't think you'd understand. Didn't you say that the people you killed were mostly scum anyways?"

"It's...different for me. I retain more than just a memory for me. Every person I consume becomes added to a collective unconscious. I remember more than just their horrified faces. I remember everything they remembered."

Annie's brown eyes widened, so he was sorry for everything he did. Leaning over in the seat she kissed him on the cheek, and murmured lightly, "I'm sorry. It doesn't matter how sorry any of us are, as long as Daedalus is out there we are going to keep adding people to our lists of murdered."

She moved back to her seat, not noticing as Christian's eyes blinked open as he watched his mother. Annie continued her train of thought, "I have had a long time to think about this... there isn't going to be a happy ending. Not for me. Not for you. Not for a lot of us."

She turned back to face Shane and put on a smile, "Regardless we've got to do the best we can with our lot. We should get to an ATM and get supplies soon..."

Annie's brown eyes widened, so he was sorry for everything he did. Leaning over in the seat she kissed him on the cheek, and murmured lightly, "I'm sorry. It doesn't matter how sorry any of us are, as long as Daedalus is out there we are going to keep adding people to our lists of murdered."

She moved back to her seat, not noticing as Christian's eyes blinked open as he watched his mother. Annie continued her train of thought, "I have had a long time to think about this... there isn't going to be a happy ending. Not for me. Not for you. Not for a lot of us."

She turned back to face Shane and put on a smile, "Regardless we've got to do the best we can with our lot. We should get to an ATM and get supplies soon..."

As long as Daedalus exists...not so. Even if they were completely destroyed, Shane would still be alive. Alive and needing to feed. Alive and slowly losing to the growing number of tormented voices in his head.

"Annie...I need you to promise me something. This will happen, so please don't contradict me or argue about it. There is going to come a time when I completely lose my sanity. It may happen soon, or it may happen years from now. The point is that I need you to promise that you will kill me when it happens. For all intents and purposes I think you're the only one who can."

"Annie...I need you to promise me something. This will happen, so please don't contradict me or argue about it. There is going to come a time when I completely lose my sanity. It may happen soon, or it may happen years from now. The point is that I need you to promise that you will kill me when it happens. For all intents and purposes I think you're the only one who can."

Annie looked forward, she knew what he was asking was reasonable, logical. She knew that is was only a matter of time before he lost his sanity, but could she have his death on her hands. Sighing she replied slowly, carefully, "I... I can't make a promise I don't know if I will be able to keep."

Christian glanced between the two and spoke up, "If Mommy can't I will."

Annie paled glancing down at her son. "So you were awake," she muttered. Then her eyes grew hard, "Christian. You will not ever use your power that way-"

He raised a brow and ignored her glancing at Shane, repeating himself, "I will, when the time comes. I am more powerful than Mommy. She won''t be able to stop me... besides Daddy mentioned there is a possibility that she might lose her powers for a while."

Annie turned away and muttered, "He would have said something like that..." she had turned bright red at her son's comment. "That is not something you tell a two year old."
