Koichi smiled as he twirled on his foot to face foward again. "Now, then, let's enjoy this wonderful stroll," he said in a singsong voice as he continued walking. The sun had already set, and the sky was now pitch black with the dotted stars scattered around it; the moon, though, had already started to rise behind them, chasing them through the courtyard as well as everyone else. I don't think she likes parties, said the voice in mock agony, but she must! Or no cake for me, it cried.

Kana nodded and followed behind him again, just to his right side. She had her head bowed, still thinking over the possibility of a party, though when he said to enjoy the stroll, she lifted it again. "....right," she said and once again began trying to cheer herself up. She let her hand drop from the locket and instead fall back to her side. The bag was still clutched in her other, and both were swinging by her sides again, though not as enthusiastically as before. But, her ears were still perked and tilting in random directions. Her eyes had turned skyward again, blue pools reflecting the starlight.

"There we go," Koichi said softly to her, glad she had her mind at least somewhat off the troubling topic of a party for her. NO! YOU BETTER THROW A PART, KOICHI! I WANT MY CAKE!! the voice screamed at him; cake was it's one weakness, and he wasn't going to be deprived of it. okay, okay, he though back somewhat forcfully; the voice was such a migrane. "Well then, Kitty, any ideas to make this walk a little more.. uplifting?" he asked, already thinking the walk was somewhat boring in the least.

Kana glanced back towards him, tearing her gaze almost reluctantly from the sky. She slowly shook her head, though the word 'uplifting' rang through her ears. Well, maybe if I... No, I can't! She bit her lip and then bowed her head slightly. "No..." she frowned. "I guess... it was a bad decision to come here. I'm sorry..." She glanced around, perhaps looking for something to do, or someone she knew, but failed to find either. But then something flew past her head, and almost without thinking both her hands shot out, trapping the creature inside. She made a cage with her fingers and held it up, suddenly grinning happily, as if this little event was taking her mind off of everything else of worry. "Look, a butterfly!" she cried, holding the blue and black insect towards him.

Koichi was startled by the sudden launching of her hands, but lowered himself to look at what she was extending to him. He peered between her fingers and grinned. "Good job, Kitty. It's a beautiful color... can't say I've ever seen one like it," he nodded his head agreeing with himself. He was glad for the sudden interuption; she looked so sad a moment before that he was going to smack himself for saying anything. "And you know, there was no reason to appologize; i'm glad we came here overall," he said soothingly, hoping she didn't take it as a scolding.

[Haha, I realized after I posted that I was very vague... xD;; She's considering possible things she could do if she would only learn how to control her wind manipulation. =P]

Kana nodded, then brought her hands just in front of her face, staring through the makeshift bars at the insect inside. Then she slowly pulled her hands apart, and the butterfly remained perched in her palm, wings flapping gently. Her face took on an almost longing look, until Koichi broke her from her thoughts. She blinked at him a moment, and then smiled softly. "I'm glad," she nodded, feeling quite a bit relieved, though she could never be sure if a person was being truthful when they said things like that. She decided to believe he was.

Koichi smiled at her. "You seem to love that little thing," he said softly, looking down at the butterfly rested on her hand. Ahh, the perfect thing to go on the cake; a few little sugar butterflies... or do you plan on letting about 100 loose in your room as a present of some sort? the voice smirked his imaginary lips. "I'm suprised you're not pawing at it playfully," he laughed softly, petting one of her ears gently with his pointer finger again. He knew that sounded steriotypical, and he hoped she didn't get offended.

[Haha, yeah... Beginning to post my story in that contest thread too. xP]

Kana nodded, smiling at it still. When he pet her ear, it twitched like normal, but she let out a small purr this time as well, though it stopped as soon as she realized. "Well, I don't want to hurt it," she said gently, trying to pretend nothing had just happened, but her face was faintly red. "I wish I could fly..." she added softly. "Someone let me the other day. They used a spell and it let me float around! But then he hurt himself and we had to stop..." Her ears drooped slightly, but perked right back up as she traced a claw very gently over one of the butterfly's wings, barely touching it at all.

"Well then, looks like your ideal wish is to fly, Kitty," Koichi said calmly. He smirked to himself, hearing her purr; was that supposed to mean anything? It better mean something! It there's anything I want more than cake, it's a new victim! Koichi sighed, running a hand through his hair, to which it just settled back down to how it was. "Kitty, have you ever been to France?" he asked suddenly, wondering if she'd like to go there one day; he knew he wasn't developing any feelings for her, but he saw her as a friend, even if it was going to be shattered once he broke her heart; all the same, she seemed to be limited to a lot, so he wanted to show her everything, if at all anything.

Kana nodded slowly at his first comment, then paused at the question. She pulled her hand back, straightening slightly, but still keeping the butterfly sitting on her flattened palm. "France?" she echoed. "No, I never did any traveling before coming here. That's expensive." She gave a rather meek smile. Her family was never one to have money to spare, especially after her dad passed away so quickly after she was born. She was actually used to working, but now that she was here, it felt really odd to have so much free time.

Koichi smiled. "Well, then, how would you like to come back with me one day?" he asked simply. "It'd be no trouble; after all, I think my family would love to meet you, even if there isn't a lot of us in france," he chuckled softly. You just want to show her off to Sky and her grandfather, although Kaze probably wouldn't mind at all... in fact, he may be able to explain to us why Sky is acting so strange, the voice said brusquely. "So, how about it? It won't be until a little while, so there's no rush," he said anxiously; he liked it when people hadn't experienced something yet, because he liked showing it to them.

Kana felt her eyes widen as she took in his words. "Wh-what?" she stammered. "Are you serious? But I couldn't trouble you with something like that!" She felt her mind spinning, and jumped slightly as the momentarily forgotten butterfly lifted from her hand and made its escape. Her eyes followed as it went, and she made no move to recapture it. She was still almost stunned. It wasn't everyday she recieved an offer to go somewhere like that. Actually, she hadn't ever recieved an offer to visit a foreign place before. Sure, she and her mother had spoken many times, imaging being able to, but those were just far off dreams.

Koichi tilted his head slightly at her reaction; he loved it, in truth. "As I said, it won't be for at least a month, so you have time to think about it. Just think of it as a new experiance; besides, my mother, I'm sure, would love to meet you... she loves people who are always up beat like her," he said, hoping he didn't offend her; by now, he had a feeling there was something between her and her mother that shouldn't be meddled with. Meddle, shmedle. You just want more chances to complete the mission. Besides, by that time you figure she'd already be yours, and then Sky would be coming with us, now wouldn't she? So, all the more reason to accomplish this... the voice said evily.

Kana's eyes shifted towards him again as she bit her lip, considering his words for a moment. "I'll... think it over then," she said after a moment, her voice rather faint. It was pretty overwhelming. She'd only just met him, yet he was already planning parties and inviting her to France... Was that normal? She guessed it might be where he's from. She didn't really have much experience with males, unless they were bullying her or something, but she didn't really want to think about that now. Instead, she smiled softly up at Koichi. "Thank you for the offer," she added quietly.

Koichi bit his lip; he didn't know why, but he suddenly felt that he couldn't hurt her like he had planned to. You're turning soft you b*****d! the voice screached, don't throw our hard work down the drain.. at least think of something else! Koichi smiled down at Kana. "You're welcome," he said simply. Now, he just had to find a way to ask his next question, although he was slightly embarrassed. Usually, it took at least a month before he asked, but he wanted to protect her so badly. "Kitty, if you wouldn't mind, would you like to be my.. .um..." he started, not sure how to say it. After a few quick moments he started again. "Would you like to be, in a way, my.. uh, my little sister, that is," he finished, blushing lightly.
