Once upon a time, it seems.
A beautiful and wise princess lived.
She was admired by every guy.
She was envied by ever girl.
But where was her dear prince?
Was he among the foolish men?
Had the prince already been taken?
The princess became lonely and sad.
Men tried to cheer her up.
But they were not the one.
They were foolish and big ego-ed.
This was not what she wanted.

She grew tired of their attempts.
Taking what she could, she ran.
She climbed on her horse's back.
They took off through the gate.
No one knew where she went.
Why? Because she had disguised herself.
She appeared to be a maid.

Stopped at the outskirts of town.
She saw a young man there.
He was no prince, no nobleman.
He appeared to be a worker.
His arms had a farmer's tan.
There were scars here and there.
This man intrigued the dear princess.
What was different about this man?

The man took a brief break.
He noticed a new, young maid.
She came on a fine horse.
What was this maid doing here?
It was miles from any town.
Why does she seem to hide?
He glanced at the princess' face.
His breath had been taken away.
Those green eyes held great mysteries.

He felt himself draw towards her.
She looked up noticing his presence.
He bowed slightly to the maid.
Her eyes widened. Did he know?
She asked him why he bowed.
He was surprised by the question.
He replied it was simply courtesy.
She still wondered if he knew.
If he knew her true identity.

But he did not know it.
No word of the princess' escape.
It would be days before so.
Over time she befriended the man.
Soon, word of the escape arrived.
The princess feared for her discovery.
The man wondered about the maid.
She seemed frightened by the news.
"It's alright. She will be found."
She looked into his soft eyes.
"That is what I fear, dear sir."
"Why do you fear this, lady?"
She turned away, no response given.
It suddenly dawned on the man.
The maid was not a maid.
It was the kingdom's own Princess.
But why did she run away?

He took her by the hand.
Lead her away from the town.
They stopped in a serene forest.
"Do not be afraid, dear Princess."
She took a step back, in surprise.
"I only wish to know why."
She watched the man with uncertainty.
"I will not take you back,
"If that isn't what you want."
She smiled at the man's statement.
"Thank you, dear sir, for this.
"You know not what it means."
"Why do you run from home?"
"The men there do not love.
"They don't love me for me.
"They only want the kingdom's riches.
"They only want the king's crown.
"They are foolish and greedy men."
The young man was taken aback.
How could the men be so?
How could they be so rude?
The man took the Princess' hand.
