I only have 20 days left of my seasonal hire period at the theater. I wonder when I'll be informed on whether they'll keep me on or if my time will come to an end on that weekend.

Yesterday's 7 o' clock rush was hella crazy. There was four concessionists, one of the ushers, and I think one of the managers was on a till as well. And there was still lines of people for all of us.
Of course the timing of my 36 minute break ended up happening during this period ((otherwise I would've got over the 5 hr mark)). So, it was a bit hectic trying to figure out when to let me go. I ended up having to leave right at my 5 hour mark... which was at 8 p.m.
At least I was able to upsell quite a bit of my orders which was nice. With our new computer system is keeps track of the percentage of upsells and what not. Part of the time I had an upsell of about 50%.

While I was waiting to get back on from one of my breaks, I overheard Alan, one of the users, talking with one of the concessionists. Apparently the theater won't be keeping many of the seasonal hires on after the "season" is over. Considering I only know of at least 5 seasonal hires (including myself) that makes the chances of me staying over even smaller than I originally thought.

In one way, it'll be nice not being kept on because I'll be able to take one thing off of my schedule and regain some free time. Not to mention, I have a schedule that will be more manageable; I wouldn't have to wait until every Wednesday/Thursday to know what my schedule is (like it is at the theater) but would be able to make my own schedule as the occasion calls for it. And I wouldn't have to worry about driving so far out to the theater ((sure, I could transfer to a closer theater but then I would lose all of the wonderful co-workers I've just started to get to know)).
On the otherhand, it'll be a shame to not add more time to my experience at theater. And I would be losing the opportunity to work with a bunch of people I've come to enjoy working with. There won't be the additional amount of money coming in. Not to mention, I wouldn't be able to go see movies for free and having incredibly awesome discounts on concession items.
