More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"Yes he has, hasn't he? If I had known he would become an all-consuming cancer I would have never agreed to the project. Knowledge always comes with a price, one we didn't pay back then. He might not rest before Daedelus is destroyed."

"Not that you would care about that but the question remains...how long will he remain sane. If he hasn't lost it already. There are currently a few options on the table. First one is to cut our losses and nuke him, Second is hoping that our prototype weapon works and third is our wild card. Or rather...my wild card." He explained. But remained rather vague about his wild card.

Gidget shook her head. "Nuclear strike is out of the question. There is no way we can evacuate an entire city or corral him into an area the president will accept. Besides, Shane is too intelligent. He'll be able to sniff out what we're doing."

"I want to hear more about your prototype weapon, and whatever wildcard you are talking about. Remember, I have come to terms with the fact that he has to die. Please don't hold anything back on my account."

Shane chuckled and ordered a Mcnuggets happy meal for Christian. He pulled around the corner, handed the girl a twenty, received his change, then his food, and drove over to a secluded area where they could eat in peace.

Shane turned and offered Gidget her portion of the meal. Whimpering she looked up at him, then smelled the food. She ravenously snatched the box from his hand and began wolfing down the nuggets.

Shane then handed a small red box to Christian, and a bag with five double cheeseburgers to Annie.

Annie narrowed her eyes at Shane and said taking the food as Christian excitedly tore open the box, "If the kid pukes, you are cleaning it up." Opening one sandwhich she managed to eat it in three bites. She continued the pace until she got to cheeseburger number four. As she ate, her mood began to clear up considerably: she could feel more energy coursing through her as her stomach began to digest the greasy food. A little sleep and she could probably take down a Daedalus squad herself. Of course, being able to sleep after what she had seen lately was another problem all together.

Christian was distracted savoring his chicken nuggets and playing with his toy. Annie smiled down at him and then looked at Shane before looking out the window. "I suppose I wasn't the clearest about what caused me to lose my powers completely before," she began. "It is common knowledge in Daedalus, though, about Berchant's most successful experiment. That experiment was Christian. All but my power to sense auras are completely shut down- even drugs worked on me."

She smiled slightly, "Easiest nine months of my imprisonment for Daedalus." She raised a brow at Shane and then returned to her last sandwhich, eating small bites.

"That's why I said cutting our losses. Evacuation will surely tip him off so we won't. But I agree. It is not something I would want do." He took a drag from his cigarette.

"PRCF, Portable Radiation Containment Field. It was designed to be a protective field under normal circumstances but with a few tweaks it actually generated lethal levels of various types of radiation. UV, Gamma, you name it. It will be lethal to him." He explained

He glanced at Gidget weighing his options. He decided to tell her. "My....wild-card was unexpected. Shane's actions freed them. Subject XT73. When he...or she was hit by the meteor it caused something unexpected. He was born as a human chimera. The meteor mutated both strains of DNA. This resulted in him continuously shifting form." Leonard explained in enthusiasm."So in an attempt to split them we injected them with pure solidified meteor radiation. This calmed him down. When we saw no further result we upped the dosage. This time we were successful. We split them up. Brother and sister were no longer one."

"Despite their personalities being affected, their....bizarre speech and longing for each other, they are strong. The girl embodies the the physical while the boy embodies the mind. She has true super human strength and is indestructible. He can control many minds. We had them locked away apart from each other since it is nearly impossible to control them. They have a certain...sick envy for Shane. I believe that is because we often compared them to him. I would not be surprised if they were currently looking for him. I just hope they keep the chaos to a minimum."

Shane found this little tid bit of information quite intriguing. "So while you were pregnant you lost the majority of your powers? Now that I would not expect. It makes sense though. Your body puts a lot of energy toward creating a new life. So it shut down all essential bodily functions."

Gidget threw her hands up in a halting motion. "Hold on a minute. These chimera...they're at the pinnacle of their powers, and they want to kill Shane? Okay, so you vocally compared them to him. How far would they go to kill him? Because if they go all out against him, there is going to be a lot more people dying before we can get to him."

"Trust me..I will."
A question popped into his head he had been meaning to ask earlier.
"Um I wanna ask you something completely different. How are Meta's categorized? Are they in types, ranks or something else?"

"There are two ways we've categorized metas. One is the type of power they have. Two is based on their threat level.

There are seven types. Type one is self metamorphosis, someone like Kerana, Liz or Gidget. Type two is chemical change through use of spores. This is less obvious because this usually deals with body chemistry, the way the body can handle things differently because of the meteor. An example based on what I've heard, would be Ray Charles, he has the ability to find and make your fears seam real. I haven't come across this myself but the terrible things that man put Gidget through... was horrid..." she found herself get side tracked. " *ahem*... Then there's type three, the one you and I fall under, projection or control.

The rest are more combinations of the first three. Type four are self metamorphosis with spore use, Shane and Annie. I was told Annie took a dose of concentrated meteor substance and just like Shane, Dr. Acula was involved. In her case she took it willingly, from what I gathered it was because of that dose she was able to shift her whole body into an acid form. Type five is self metamorphosis with projection or control. Freya would be a good example she can shift parts of her body into more wolf form and at the same time she can manipulate shadows. Type six is projection with spore use, which I can't think of anyone right now. Last one is one that has all three combined, self metamorphosis with spore use and projection or control. Which I haven't come across someone with all three as of yet.

Now on to the Threat Classes, those are a bit self explanatory and they take the psychological and powers to account:"
D is no threat
C is potential threat
B is minor threat
A is hazardous
S is a danger to all

For example, Larry would be considered a class A if it weren't for his sister keeping him calm he would loose it and become a total juggernaut. Shane is a class S, so far from what I've seen he's the only one to have reached that threat class. He not only has a dependency for living tissue but his sanity may be slowly becoming unstable.

I think that covers that.

"They are unpredictable. Personalities tend to change over time with them. They may be as lazy as a sloth and the next moment as fierce as a lion. As long as they stay together the chaos should be at a minimum. Hence why I said they were a wild-card." Leonard explained

"Type One and Two I can understand but how the hell can spores cause what I do with my powers. Can't those spores just be a side-product from using our powers? Like Carbon Dioxide when we breathe?" He eagerly argued. This did amaze him. He really had not suspected anything of this sort.

"Also...aren't the threat classes kinda...odd? I mean I am no danger to anyone right now what if I couldn't control my power like....like when I..you know...college...Wouldn't that make me at least an high A Class?"

The sudden change of topic threw him off a bit but he recovered fast enough. He threw an arm around her" Well...I am glad I make you feel that way."

As the light in her room slowly increased, Liv slowly stretched. Turning to her side she slowly ran her hand over the chest of the guy who was laying next to her. She slowly started to drain him. A cold sensation flowed from her hand to her chest. It was always like that. Liv stopped before completely draining him. It would just leave him tired and still able to use his powers. Not as much as before but they would shrug that off as being tired. As she turned the other way she repeated the same process with her other...friend. She had a good night last night.

Slowly getting out of bed trying as hard as she could not to wake the two guys, she got dressed. Nothing as revealing as yesterday. Liv went for something a little more stylish but still sexy. A tight white blouse with black skin tight jeans. In the bathroom she put on a little make-up and dark red lipstick. Looking at her hands she created a tiny explosion between them. Following up with a miniature snow storm. Looked like those two guys had useful powers. The downside of not completely draining someone was that she could run 'out' if she used it. But for now she had no intent of using it. It would however prove to be a very useful since nobody knows that she could do that. Perfect for surprises.

When she was done she left her apartment. Perhaps she would go and visit her friend Amanda.

Gidget sighed, content with that for the time being. "Please tell me more about the radiation field. I was under the impression that the meteor radiation made people more resiliant to other types, or is that not correct?

"As for your query earlier, our type doesn't include spores. The term "spore" is not the common definition. In this case it's something that enhanced your powers after you got them. The spore in Shane's and Annie's case is the concentrated meteor substance.

As for Threat Class yes you would be right. It depends on sanity and how well you can keep it under control. Make sense?"

I'm still not even sure why he bothered trying. However, apparently I can change blood types, from my typical poisonous blood type to my orriginal blood type."

Annie shrugged, "It seems kind of a useless change considering that Christian has the same poisonous blood type as I do normally. Maybe it makes it easier for the child to develop without having to deal with poison."

"Anyhow," she said, changing the subject. "We should go soon and pick up supplies and find a hotel."

She paused thinking for a few moments before speaking again, "Actually Dr. Berchant didn't think his experiment was going to work- considering the state of my blood. I'm still not even sure why he bothered trying. However, apparently I can change blood types, from my typical poisonous blood type to my orriginal blood type."

Annie shrugged, "It seems kind of a useless change considering that Christian has the same poisonous blood type as I do normally. Maybe it makes it easier for the child to develop without having to deal with poison."

"Anyhow," she said, changing the subject. "We should go soon and pick up supplies and find a hotel."

Shane nodded, agreeing with Annie's plan of action. He put the car into drive and looked over to Christian. "How're you handling those nuggets kiddo?"

The blue leutinent blushed which was revealed in a shade of purple, as he heard that she remembered him. He took a deep breath to calm his nerves a little as he sat down.

He frowned when he heard that their ride didn't go as smooth as he hoped. If this ride wasn't comfortable this time, by golly he would want to make sure the next one would improve. Besides it would help the other huge metas when they had to mobilize them. Almost like a reflex at the end of her comment he pulled out his little notepad, "What was wrong with the ride? If you were to improve it what would you have liked changed?" His eyes were focused and it was clear that he wanted to make things right.

Larry stopped chewing the mass of food in his mouth for just a moment to utter, "Hot."

Heather nodded, then shifted in her chair to move her tail into a better position. "Right, it didn't have proper ventilation. We were practically baking in there. And they gave us a five gallon tank of water. Five gallons! Did they not see how big he is?! He sweats five gallons when he's outside walking around."

"Smelly." Larry grumbled.

"Other than that it was alright I guess." She huffed.

Heather regarded the man for a moment, finding it cute that he blushed around her. She just hoped he doesn't decide to pursue anything, or he would be sorely disappointed.
