More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Leonard took it all in and was connecting the dots. Her sudden interest, questions about the accident and that final question. She knew. She had to know somehow. But now so did he. He sighed at with some relief.

"Then I would suggest that he would break all contact with us and live his life somewhere else. Away from Daedelus. We..they cannot allow a Meta of that magnitude to roam free."

"So..he has found his way to you then. How long has he been there?"

Shane gasped and strained as her vice grip tightened around him. She's strong...very strong...stronger than anything he'd ever come across.

Shane pushed against her with little effect. He cursed himself for being so damn soft and stupid. No longer, this woman had to die.

Shane wrapped his arms around her and cried out as dozens of small but long biomass pikes erupted from his chest and arms

So the cat was out of the bag.

"I found him actually, and he didn't stay long. I got your number from him. He misses you immensely, and at the same time fears you because of your attitude toward us. I know it isn't my business to pry Doctor, but I couldn't in good conscience stand idly by as you throw away your own flesh and blood because of some stupid hatred for us. Hate me, hate my brother, hate the rest of us if you want to. But at least love your son."

Gidget's words had an aura of passion about them, something not easily obtained with emotional adjustment exercises alone. Her artificial eyes burned with the fire of someone who once knew what love was, but can no longer feel it.

Cassandra wondered what Shane did. She felt the contact of his spikes but only that. It did not penetrate or scratch. It ripped aside clothes but that's it. She increased her strength just because she could.

"I liked these clothes..." She muttered and let go of Shane. It wouldn't be very fun if he were to be killed with the first attack. Her fist shot out towards his stomach. Soon the horde would be all around him as well.

Leonard smiled to himself. "I do"

"I hate the race of Meta's and what it does to the rest of the world. Not specific individuals. There are plenty out there who mind to their own business. While others are potential threats that need to be contained. The majority of the people that work here are...extremists in that matter. I too was like that once. I know you are not a danger to people. But when a new superior species emerges the other one usually gets wiped out. I will be the bad guy and protect the current humanity by all means."

As Shane drove his boot into the puddle that was Annie, she would have rolled her eyes if she could at that moment. Did he really think that would immobilize her? It had taken, Theonis using his power to blow her across a parking lot to immobilize her for even a couple minutes. She had been shot, blasted into pieces, through all kinds of attacks at Daedalus's whim, a boot stepping into her liquid form- that was nothing. However, it might convince Shane she was immobilized, and hopefully the one/ones with the unknown meta-human auras/aura that she felt.

Following Shane into the store she watched his exchange with Cassandra, fuming as she hit on him and he hugged her. Out of childish spite, she considered turning the girl's blood into acid at that moment. Instead she decided, Shane was probably doing what he could to calm her without attacking her. Then, she began to attack, and Shane retaliated to no avail.

As he was being squeezed, a watery strand snaked up his leg. It was her way of letting him know she was there to back up, without hopefully exposing herself to the other one- the one who was apparently controlling the crowds. Shane was right, he couldn't afford the other to take control of her. Hydrochloric acid she could create almost in her sleep, and that ate quite effectively through any biological matter, no doubt also biomass.

"We do have psychiatric facilities here, it is a common scenario that the meta transformation has affected us mentally. Sadly for some it came to a point that they could not be around other metas anymore. If you feel someone among your group needs to see one of our please feel free to let me know." he did suspect that she asked this because of Larry but did not want to jump to conclusions or if Larry doesn't like to see the doctor, was told he needed to see one may make things more complicated.

"Okay... now on with the agenda. While we are doing the finishing touches to your living quarters. Breakfast will wrap up at 8am then next will be a tour and after that at 10am is a Meta Social where you can meet some of our current residents and after that you will be able to pick out which rooms you'd like to be in. For you and Larry we've got one set for you."

The sapling will be at one end of the hall. The sapling has been placed in a giant mobile pot and if we need to we can expand the thing to meet the saplings needs."

Oh right, the remains of the great matron. "If it the stories are true it took centuries for the first Matron to grow. I can't believe she was destroyed so easily. That shadow power is really scary."

"Thanks again for your help lieutenant. Please take my anger earlier with a grain of salt. It's been a long night for everyone."

Larry nodded and muttered through a full mouth, "Crabby."

Shane was coughing and gasping for air when she let him go. He couldn't believe she just shrugged him off like that.Fireflies danced before him and disappeared just as Cassandra's fist came at him.

His back exploded, her hand coming out the other side. He gagged and clasped his fingers around her arm. He would dig his nails into her, but they only seemed to crack and break.

Shane had felt Annie a moment ago, and was about to say something before the sudden trauma to his torso rendered him unable to speak for a moment. He could feel the dark passenger creeping over him, ready to protect itself. Before he slipped into the darkness tears streamed down from his tortured eyes.

He pleaded to Annie, hoping that the others would think these the rantings of a dying man, "Please...make...her...whole."

It was then that any hint of the man he was faded away, and the terrible rage of the prototype overcame him. His eyes turned dark as he peered into the very soul of his sister experiment. The strength of his grip increased exponentially and his face twisted into a deadly grimace.

He growled, hundreds of voices coming from him both animal and human. The black and red biomass crept from his hands and the hole in his stomach, snaking around her arm and starting the process to break down her biological makeup for consumption.

Annie's watery tendril dropped away from Shane and she created a more human form of her liquid body and sighed. She considered the situation, she would find the other one and let Shane deal with this one. He might hate her for not listening to him totally, but she wasn't going to risk Shane's safety, her own, her son's, and Gidget's body's.

She frowned and snapped coldly before splashing into another puddle, "Let the two pieces of her become whole in the afterlife." Her puddle form slipped into the store, as she began to look for the other half. Once upon a time she would have tried to save Cassandra, now... so many years in Daedalus's clutches had altered her morality in a lot of ways. She had changed, she knew that, and she was tired of fighting the changes. After all, she had no connection to this Cassandra. Saving her from a fight her and her other half started was her problem. Let each person save themselves and their own.

Annie would take care of the other, break it down piece by piece. Calmly she sensed out auras, looking for the irregular aura she had felt earlier.

"You act as though we asked for this power. We were all just human once. It took a series of freak galactic accidents to make us into what we are. That includes Theonis. He is terrified that you will disown, or possibly dissect, him because of what he has become. I'm seeing that he may be right, but I would very much like for us to be proven wrong Doctor."

Cassandra had that same smile on her face.

"Much better. This is who you really are...embrace it!" She giggled a bit."That tickles..." Cassandra pulled her hand back from Shane's stomach and grabbed hold of his arm. True Superhuman Strength. That was one of her powers. It outclassed other Meta's who had Superhuman strength. Daedelus had never been able to test just how strong she was because she broke everything. Shane was not going to be an exception. She slammed him into the ground over her head and repeated it. The grin in her face betrayed her current personality.

While Alexavier hid, being as paranoid as before, he sent the horde towards Annie. He could always control her if things got out of hand and if he needed a hand with Shane. Soon the store was as crowded as it was before. Only this time they weren't customers. They were mindless puppets who's only current desire was to kill Annie

Leonard sighed. This wasn't going anywhere. They had different ideals. And neither would compromise it.

"I would not do that to my son. If he is smart he will steer clear of Daedelus. If not they will come after him and there is nothing that I can do about it. Can't you see why Daedelus is a necessity? These series of galactic freak accidents are occurring on a much shorter time scale than before. Who knows when the next one hits? Who knows how many of the population becomes a Meta?"

As for the Great Matron's sapling we do have growth hormones at our disposal if you wish to peruse. I'll find out some more information on that and we could discuss this further when your settled.

Until then I shall see you later. Enjoy your stay at Vallhala." with that he left. He thought it went pretty well as he head out to meet with the logistics team and then the residence committee. Those under him were gathering information on the others just as he did they submitted their information into a spread sheet which was then presented in his meetings.

But you just said you still needed breakfast! He thought she was just joking. The long pauses kind of threw him off. To him those small moments would be important since she would have work for the rest of the day. Sure she could come see him during that but he agreed that work would be more important. So he was relieved when she said she could.

"Good, because I do not know how often we can see each other today since you got work and I'll...well...I don't know what I will do yet. Guess training. Still got your record to beat." He said as they walked towards the cafeteria.

Trinity nodded solemnly, glad that he took her work seriously yet saddened that the work had to take so much of their time. They entered the food court with his arm wrapped around her waist and hers around his. Trinity could hear all of the voices, mostly being impressed that she's staying with this one for more than a day, that's a record for her. Others murmured wonders of how long this will last. She sighed at it all but smiled looking back at Theonis. They got in line for breakfast. She stuck with her stricked diet of oatmeal and fruit with some coffee. The line for this was near the table where Larry and Heather sat.

"Much better. This is who you really are...embrace it!" She giggled a bit."That tickles..." Cassandra pulled her hand back from Shane's stomach and grabbed hold of his arm. True Superhuman Strength. That was one of her powers. It outclassed other Meta's who had Superhuman strength. Daedelus had never been able to test just how strong she was because she broke everything. Shane was not going to be an exception. She slammed him into the ground over her head and repeated it. The grin in her face betrayed her current personality.

While Alexavier hid, being as paranoid as before, he sent the horde towards Annie. He could always control her if things got out of hand and if he needed a hand with Shane. Soon the store was as crowded as it was before. Only this time they weren't customers. They were mindless puppets who's only current desire was to kill Annie

Shane's body split the concrete beneath him. Each time he hit knocked the air out of him. His rational mind struggled to overcome the monster so that he could figure a way out of this.

*CRASH* "I didn't get anything from her." He thought.

*SMASH*"Not even a damned hair. Is she really invulnerable?"

*THOCK* "What if the invulnerability is superficial. She may have a brain that can still be rattled."

As he was swung overhead again he lashed out with his free hand, which had taken the shape of a tentacle, and wrapped it around her neck with a backwards tug. He hoped the combination of his pull and her centrifugal force would be enough to get her off balance, maybe even slam her with him.
