More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"Thank you Larry. Yeah we got it" Liv said with a smile of her own to the slow giant.

Christian rolled his blue eyes and mumbled, "I am not a little kid: I don't need a stupid night light."

Annie sighed and smiled at her son, reaching in the back seat to ruffle his dark hair, "Christian, no matter how smart and mature you are you are still a kid. You are allowed to act like one, sometimes."

Christian frowned, trying to bat away his mother's hands. Annie let go of him and added, "I was thinking about having Gidget's body stay with Shane and I. I didn't think he would trust her with you two. It is up to him, of course. But if you want her in your room..." She ended her statement with a shrug.

She smiled at Shane and added a tone of sarcasm in her voice, "I would hate to overstep my bounds."

Heather wiped the tears from her eyes and shifted the hair from her face. A few strands of it slid back. She huffed, annoyed at hee lack of ears.

"I'm alright...actually no. Why couldn't have I gotten a power like your's or Liv's, or at least come out cute like Kerana. People that see me get creeped out. Not that I blame them. I look like a movie monster."

Larry liked these new people. They were nice and understood his sister's troubles. He bent over and scooped them up in his enormous arms. He lifted them up in his arms, sitting them down on his giant bisceps. He looked at them and smiled.

"Friends!" From then on he considered these girls under his protection.

Shane was about to protest until he saw how happy she was. Gidget was laughing and playing with her new extra long hair braid. She turned around to Cassandra with a big smile on her face. She threw her arms around the dangerous young woman and gave her a big hug.

Shane sighed and said, "She can stay with them for a bit longer. I trust Christian to be able to keep her safe for a little bit. If that's okay with him of course."

Christian nodded severely, and said grimly, "I plan to guard her with my life. Happy people deserve to stay happy."

Annie raised a brow surprised at both Shane's decision and Christian's resolution. It made sense for Christian to think like that, like she was attracted to good auras, Christian was attracted to people who had good feelings. He could sense emotions and good emotions were more pleasant to be around, even if it wasn't a good person who was happy. It was much like the fact that Annie was attracted to good people, it didn't matter if they were happy only that they were ultimately good.

Getting out of the van she opened the passenger door and unbuckled Christian from his car seat and grabbed a loaf of bread and the bag of clothes and hair dye from Walmart. Turning her attention to Alexavier she asked, "Will you be okay carrying him? Or Cassandra? Christian does get heavy after a while but someone carrying him will get us inside quicker."

Liv couldn't help herself but to laugh. Larry really was a kind giant. Friends huh? Part of her thought it would be useful to have someone as big and simple minded as Larry as a friend. She quickly got rid of that thought however.

"Friends..sure! Quite the view up here Larry." Liv said happily.

Theonis couldn't help but over see what happened. Big ol' Larry scooping up girls. Kerana and...one smoking hot blonde. Damnit why'd I have to be in a relationship right now? First that pheromone chick and now I see this one. Can't say I have the right to complain though. Oh no...not after last night. Besides...that's not how I've been raised. He said in his inner monologue.

"How old was he again?" Alexavier asked as he hopped out of the car. Cassandra would take care of that. She seemed to have most of the better personalities and emotional quirks than him.

And he was right. Cassandra was the better half of him.She hugged Gidget back. She made sure not to squeeze her tight because that would most likely happen if she wasn't careful. She then got out of the car and picked up Christian in an odd way for her. At least to others it would seem odd if they knew her. Gently picking him up she held him in her arms. One arm at the height of his knees and the other hand placed on the back of his head. It all seemed...protective. Almost motherly. Cassandra certainly smiled that way.

"Yes Happy is good." She said with that warm smile.

Meanwhile Alexavier cursed under his breath,

"He recently turned three," Annie answered, remembering Christian's prompting about her missing his birthday. "He is a bit of a child prodigy in both intellect and his power. He doesn't have the limits of strength I do or the side effects. And of course he is a sensor. And of course you have to grow up fast when you are raised by Daedalus by a psychopathic father-"

"But Daddy did love me and you," Christian said.

Annie turned and raised a brow, "What?"

Christian shrugged, "He wasn't a good person but you could see he cared for you and me in his own way... it isn't important. After all, Daddy did give you the chance to kill him in the end."

Annie sighed pinching the bridge of her nose, "I think I'm going to get gray hair at this rate. Well, I'm going up to the room and taking a shower. Christian behave for Alexavier and Cassandra and look out for Gidget."

Christian nodded watching his mother walk away. Looking over at Alexavier he said, "Why aren't you happy? Is there something I can do to help? Everyone deserves to be happy."

Shane stood back for a second longer to watch the way Cassandra and Gidget interacted. He felt a bit better after seeing the way they were. It helped, of course, that the danger couple had no interest in harming anyone but Shane Morris.

He follwed Annie into the room and sat down on a bed before flopping back on it with his arms spread wide. It had been a while since his last consumption, and the fivht with Cassie required a lot of biomass to put himself back together. The dark passenger was beginning to gnaw at his mind again.

Alexavier gained a smirk."Well...there i-" But was cut off as Cassandra threw him a glare. Seriously that woman was no fun at all when there was a kid around! But he said it anyway."I will be happy when Shane is....out of the picture. He's dangerous."

Cassandra's eyes turned crimson red in a flash then continued to other colors. She didn't like it when he talked about stuff like that when there was a child around. Not good for a young person to be hearing that. Oh no it wasn't. Removing her hand from Christians head she held Gidget's hand with it. She strutted along forcing Alexavier to follow. When they reached the room she put Christian down on the bed and let go of Gidget's hand.

"Are you going to be okay here honey?" She asked Christian sweetly. Since Alexavier took charge again it seemed more of a rarity for her to speak but now the roles were reversed.

Annie turned to see Shane flopping back on the bed. She set the bags next to the TV and pulled out the new clothes and the hair dye. Her back to him she frowned as she inspected the color- a dark brown. Setting it down she turned to face him, a dull pain beginning in her head as she could feel him wrestling with his inner demon. "Despite what I may feel or believe or say, I don't plan on stopping you from returning Gidget's soul to her body," Annie began. "In fact, I have been helping you in more ways than you could imagine. You're smart, I am sure you can guess part of the deal I made with Alexavier. I promised to ensure you die. Nothing else would have placated him. However, we agreed to give you two weeks to live and he promised to disappear with Cassandra and never hurt anyone else unless it is Daedalus Agents who go hunting for him."

"I told him that if you aren't dead by the two week deadline that I would allow them to kill me without any fight," Annie continued. "Honestly, I just wanted to buy some time. And from the very beginning I have been contemplating ways of getting out of the deal, I am sure Alexavier knows that, but at the same time I remember what you wanted me to promise you and my son's promise to you. I don't plan on letting my son become a killer, he deserves better than that. However, I can feel you getting more and more consumed by the biomass."

She shook her head, "Anyhow, I thought you deserved an explanation." Turning she slid off her boots and began to unzip the catsuit, and she told him, "I'm going to take a shower and dye my hair. I'll be about an hour. Why don't you go eat something- or someone? You should be pretty, um, hungry, considering everything."

Slipping off the catsuit she picked up the hair dye and the clothes that had been picked up at Walmart. "I will help you with your sister's problem to a point, but understand I can't be responsible for carrying out the procedure myself. Staying here and traveling with the twins and me and my son is your best bet on succeeding in your endeavor. I expect to see you when I get out, but seriously, go ahead and eat, it makes traveling a lot easier for everyone."

Christian rolled his eyes at Cassandra's question, it annoyed him when people treated him like a little kid, especially someone who was obviously not the brightest crayon in the box. Instead he addressed Alexavier's issue, "I agree about Shane, but Mom loves him. He makes her happy... usually. But they both know that Shane is getting less and less like himself. He asked Mom to promise to kill him before he got consumed by the biomass. She couldn't do it- something about not making a promise she didn't know if she could keep. But, I did promise to do it if Mommy couldn't."

His dark brows drew together and he frowned, "I just want to see Mom be happy. She never has been truly happy, no matter what. Daddy had said something about it only being a matter of time before she betrays Shane... something about her morality being warped since she became a Daedalus experiment." He shrugged, before climbing to the top of the bed and tucking himself in. "I don't care. I don't want my Mom to be hurt and I want her to be happy. She didn't really want me but she loves me and will do anything for me."

Shane watched Annie undress. Had he been in his right mind he would have given Annie a different reason to clean up aafter herself. But she was right. He needed to feed. He waited for the water to start running before he grabbed one of the keys and took his leave.

He walked around the hotel complex for a bit. In the mirrors that lined the hallway he saw his reflection as that of the dark passenger. It was personified as the carapace armor he adorns when needed. He stopped for a moment and studied it. As he studied it, it studied him. He spoke to it aloud, or at least he believed he was. To anyone walking past he was just looking at his own reflection.

"So now I can see you."

The passenger nodded in response.

"What does this mean?"

The passenger then responded to Shane with whispers. It sounded like alien language consisting of a combination of hissing, whispering, and echoes.

"Complete us? I see. Yes, I agree. Do you believe that would work? I have my doubts. It just seems too coincidental is all. Fate, I don't believe in that. That would mean accepting Gidget's death. No. No! Her life takes priority over our own. I already said I agree. Yes. I can accept that, but you know what that means don't you? Of course."

Shane's conversation was interrupted by loud music and shouting coming from outside. The rapid pacing of thudding bass shook the walls of the hotel. He walked outside to see what was causing the commotion.

What he saw made him smirk. It was something that he had often joked about when he was younger. How dumb things were made even more insufferable by adding choreographed figure skating to it. And sure enough there it was.

A Jersey Shore on Ice jumbo sized Winnebago.

He had been thinking about how he was going to feed on people that wouldn't be missed. But at that moment it seemed as though someone was smiling down on him. He approached the RV with a grim smile. Soon the bass stopped.

Gidget watched the new people and the little person make noise for a bit. She didn't know what they were making noise about, but it didn't concern her for long. She had discovered the enjoyment that came from the soft squishy thing in the room. She started with just bouncing on her rear. It didn't take long for her to starting jumping up and down on it. She laughed loudly in ignorant bliss.

Straining her ears, Annie was able to hear the door close as Shane left. She continued cleaning off the grim and filth from the past day or so. After cleaning her hair she mixed the hair dye and massaged it into her hair and even dyed her eyebrows. Sighing she sat on the edge of the tub staring at her scared arms, the long scar from when she had been struck by a meteor scratch and then the dotting of chemical burns from when she first learned about her power in the shower after getting in an argument on the phone with her father about her art major.

She hadn't ever been that self conscious about her body, after all it wasn't unusual for her and her friends to pose for each other for private art projects, but her scars bugged her. Not that most of her friends had mentioned it, but none of them had ever included them in the paintings of her. Realizing that it was time she washed the dye out of her hair. Wrapping herself in a towel she glanced in the mirror before leaving the bathroom, frowning at the dark brown of her hair- it was disorienting, but she definitely didn't stand out like she had before with her bright auburn hair.

Inspecting the ends of a dark curl a small childish part of her wondered if Shane would like the change. The thought was quickly dismissed with the fact that she was supposed to kill him soon and he was too obsessed with his goal of Gidget to care what she did with her hair. Closing her eyes she laid back on the bed trying to blot out the thoughts of the men she had killed, Christian's words about Berchant actually caring about her and letting her kill him, the deal she had made with Alexavier, and even the darkening of Shane. It was a losing battle, too much bad tainted her thoughts, she didn't even bother trying to wipe the few tears that began to fall from her closed eyes.
