More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Both Cassandra and Alexavier didn't expect it. But they somehow managed to keep it together instead of having Alexavier flip and kill people out of paranoia. He linked with Cassandra just to be safe.

"Was...that you?" Cassandra asked and slowly took Gidgets hand away from the switch. The lights might be broken now but who knew what could happen if she were to do something like that again.

Shane was certainly confused and hurtt, but more than anything he felt like Annie had just abandoned him at his most critical.

"I supressed it. It's just you and me here. What's wrong?"

Gidget looked around, confused and scared. When Cassandra took her hand off of the switch she turned her attention to the new woman. She mumbled something unintelligable and then turned her gaze away. She started playing with her hair braid nervously, as though she knew she had done something wrong.

Heather wiped the tears from her eyes and shifted the hair from her face. A few strands of it slid back. She huffed, annoyed at hee lack of ears.

"I'm alright...actually no. Why couldn't have I gotten a power like your's or Liv's, or at least come out cute like Kerana. People that see me get creeped out. Not that I blame them. I look like a movie monster."

"You don't look like a monster." Deora said. Not know what else to do, she leaned against the wall opposite the stall with a tail. "You look like a girl who was affected by the meteor." She realized now that she had no idea what to say to the girl, when she herself still had issues dealing with what the meteor had done. "My power wasn't all that much of a blessing, either. It got me kicked out. At least it sounds like you and your brother found a safe place to stay for a while. And now that you're here, you're even safer. You're with other people like you."

"I know," Annie replied, turning her gaze on him, making out his wounded expression in the darkness. "I can tell, I am a sensor, after all."

She sighed, balling her fists and glancing away, "I'm in a delicate position, right now. Do you know how long I have thought about this? I actually planned on seducing you when I turned 18 when there wouldn't have been repercussions for my actions, of course, events prevented that from actually happened. And now?"

She shook her head. "Would you believe me if I said that I have no experience with this sort of thing? Besides do you remember what I said in the car earlier about Christian and my power? I made a deal that I don't know if I can back out of where I will need my power. Besides, the idea of being vulnerable for that long- Hell, any amount of time."

Standing she said, "And say all that wasn't a worry, how am I supposed to kill you or help ensure you die when the time comes? Even if it wasn't for my deal with Alexavier, we both know that eventually the time would come where you would ask me to kill you..." She took a deep breath, wrapping her arms around herself, trying to hold herself together, trying not to shake or cry. She wanted to be comforted and reassured, but what was the use of empty words? She knew from the beginning that her happily ever after wasn't going to come.

"You don't look like a monster." Deora said. Not know what else to do, she leaned against the wall opposite the stall with a tail. "You look like a girl who was affected by the meteor." Heather wiped away a few remaining tears as Deora spoke. Her story reminded Heather of how her parents reacted the first time they saw what the meteor had done to their children.

"You said you were kicked out. You mean like your folks thought you were some sort of freak and wouldn't have you anymore?"

Shane listened to Annie's heated words before gently grasping her upper arms. "In regards to you first concern, I...can't have children. My biological makeup is no longer human enough to produce the proper genetic materials. It'd be like two different species mating, it just wouldn't work."

He paused for a minute before he continued. "And I'm sorry to have put such a heavy burden on you. I will never ask you to kill me again. Because when the time comes I wont be of sound mind. But I think you're forgetting about something. When the time comes, you wont be alone. You have friends back at Valhalla that will stand with you, and be there for you after I'm gone."

Cassandra sighed. Her responds was enough of an answer "Well nothing we can do about that now." She took Gidget back to bed.

"So it was her." Alexavier said to himself." Didn't know she was a Meta too. Anything else they haven't told us?"

Gidget read Ako's facial expressions and gestures as well as his vitals. She could tell he was hiding something.

"I think that can be accomplished. That is, it could be if you were completely honest with me. My eyes can see a lot more than most people think, and I can tell that you are either lying to me or hiding something. Both things are completely unnecessary around me. Whatever it is I promise I wont flip out."

Ako sighed, really not wanting to tell her. This girl used to look up to him, and now he was about to tell her something that might make her think he was getting weak. "I've been having these blackouts recently. They started off at just a few seconds, but I think the last one lasted at least an hour or so. They're getting more frequent, and I keep waking up in different places, and I don't know how I get there."

She turned, sighed, and said sarcastically, "Two different species mating? Wow, I never knew you were so talented at the pick up lines." Meeting his gaze she added, "The problem is I don't trust myself entirely, not anymore. When the time comes I am not entirely sure of how I will act."

"Very well," Annie said, "I quit. I quit calculating and trying to manipulate things to work. I'll let you make the first moves and you be the responsible one. I'm going to stop worrying about myself and you, let you do both of that. My only concern will be Christian. If you want anything to happen between us you are going to have to make the first move. If you want to be killed then it is your job to make funeral arrangements. All of that, our relationship and the progression of the biomass, that is your responsibility now. I am going to pin everything on you." She smiled, "Your move, Mr. Morris."

Christian glanced over at Alexavier and spoke up, "So you didn't invade Mommy's mind? There's a lot she and Shane haven't told you. I'm sure there is a lot they haven't told me, but then again I am just a kid. Mommy acts on a need-to-know basis mostly, and I don't even want to begin to trying to understand Shane."

He closed his eyes planning to drift back to sleep, "I'm willing to answer questions on what I know if it makes you feel better. But, what does the details matter anyways? You want Shane dead and Mommy agreed to facilitate that, right? Why worry about what they are going to do before you two's deal comes to play out?"

Heather wiped away a few remaining tears as Deora spoke. Her story reminded Heather of how her parents reacted the first time they saw what the meteor had done to their children.

"You said you were kicked out. You mean like your folks thought you were some sort of freak and wouldn't have you anymore?"

(I thought she didn't have tears? XD )

"Yeah, something like that." Deora said, crossing her arms. "A fragment hit nearby while me and my brothers were playing soccer one day. I was the only one brave enough to touch it. Maybe the right word is stupid. I didn't notice anything at first, it took a couple days. Puddles flowed towards me, rain tried to avoid me, stuff like that. I tried to hide it from my family, especially my padre. He hated the metas. He got angry every time they were on the news." She paused, taking a breath.
"One day, there was a report on the new wave of metas, the result of the latest meteor. Padre was getting angry, starting to yell. My brothers went to their rooms, but Mom was helping me with my homework at the kitchen table. I had a glass of water there, and I was so nervous about the news that I was shaking. I went for the glass of water, and knocked it off the table. Padre looked over at us when he heard the glass shatter, and I was still holding the water in the air." There was another pause. She struggled to keep her voice even and calm.
"Mom went pale, she didn't even try to protect me. Padre told me to get out, hit me when I tried to argue. He finally let me get some of my clothes, but I still wasn't welcome. My Mom and brothers just watched as he pushed me out the door and locked it behind me. I was living on the streets until Mas. Trinity and Ms. Gidget found me. Really, I guess I found them. I tried to steal from Ms. Gidget, and she caught me. They brought me here, showed me what other metas were like. They convinced me I wasn't the freak my padre said I was."

She realized she'd just divulged her life story in an effort to calm this girl down. She felt foolish. "I guess I told you all that so I could say; You're not a freak, you're not a monster. You're just a girl affected by a random act of fate, luck, or something else, and now you're among others like you. You're not a monster, you're one of us."

Shane chuckled and said in embarrassment, "And you were surprised when I said I hadn't been kissed before you."

He was glad to see Annie relent. This act, unknown to her, bought him more time from the dark passenger. While she was in the shower, he had made a wager with his mental assailant. Shane could feel that the passenger was going to be upon him before he could complete his task, and so he bet on Annie's love for him. Part of him felt terrible for using her as a bargaining chip, but this meant he could be with her for that much longer.

He smiled warmly at her and leaned in. He whispered in her ear, "You are much to kind...Mrs. Soulsmith." He kissed her on the neck and took her into his arms once more.

Ako gave her a questioning look, but shook his head. "Just the normal bikers, thieves and other thugs. Normal people, no metas."

A child had caught him on his bluff. A ...mere...child.

"Smart little bugger aren't you?" He spoke annoyed."I'm not worried about the deal. I'm worried well...worried not being the correct word here, if she can actually do it. Since they are currently...close And she was unstable before getting her act back together just now."
