She realized she'd just divulged her life story in an effort to calm this girl down. She felt foolish. "I guess I told you all that so I could say; You're not a freak, you're not a monster. You're just a girl affected by a random act of fate, luck, or something else, and now you're among others like you. You're not a monster, you're one of us."

Heather sniffled and wiped her snout. Deora's story broke her heart on many levels. Her tail swept around front under the stall as she unlocked the door slowly enough so that Deora wouldn't fall backward. She looks at the young girl and starts to tear up again. Without warning she throws her arms around the girl in an empathetic hug.

"It wasn't fair, was it? You couldn't have known. You're still a person, you have feelings. I know that pain."

Ako gave her a questioning look, but shook his head. "Just the normal bikers, thieves and other thugs. Normal people, no metas."

Gidget sighed reflexively in relief. "That's good. I mean, in the sense they aren't being caused by a particularly troublesome metahuman. How long have they been going on for?"

Ako wondered about the sigh. He knew too well that she was a robot now, so why would she sigh? He shrugged and answered her question; "I'm not sure, maybe a couple months or so."

A child had caught him on his bluff. A ...mere...child.

"Smart little bugger aren't you?" He spoke annoyed."I'm not worried about the deal. I'm worried well...worried not being the correct word here, if she can actually do it. Since they are currently...close And she was unstable before getting her act back together just now."

"Of course, I am a genius," Christian answered sitting up, curling his legs up to his chin. His blue eyes narrowed at Alexavier as he tried to understand what he was saying. "Unstable? You mean like how she snapped at Shane? That's because she can sense auras. Bad people or things make her crabby. Shane may be good but the biomass or whatever is pure evil... you're annoyed about the situation? If I could do something to make you feel better, I'm willing to at least think about trying to help out."

Christian smiled, "Mom likes people who are good. I'm not so picky. I just like happy people. If people aren't happy and I could help them become happier, why shouldn't I help out?"

Shane chuckled and said in embarrassment, "And you were surprised when I said I hadn't been kissed before you."

He was glad to see Annie relent. This act, unknown to her, bought him more time from the dark passenger. While she was in the shower, he had made a wager with his mental assailant. Shane could feel that the passenger was going to be upon him before he could complete his task, and so he bet on Annie's love for him. Part of him felt terrible for using her as a bargaining chip, but this meant he could be with her for that much longer.

He smiled warmly at her and leaned in. He whispered in her ear, "You are much to kind...Mrs. Soulsmith." He kissed her on the neck and took her into his arms once more.

She closed her eyes as he kissed her neck, a part of her wondered when exactly he got over his apparent shyness about girls. Smiling some she said, "And you were surprised that you could be found attractive to a girl who was ten years your junior. You probably thought I was a bit of a slut."

She paused and stood on her tiptoes and whispered, "I just thought of something- how much that I hate that hoodie you keep wearing." She unzipped the hoodie fully and said stepping back, crossing her arms and raising a brow, "I've been fantasizing about getting you out of that thing- among other things- ever since you started wearing it."

Deora hugged the girl, though she was a bit surprised. It was a bit weird to feel the scales, but she ignored them as Heather spoke. Here she was trying to comfort the girl, and she was the one being comforted. "Yeah," She said, a single tear starting to form in the corner of her eye. She always tried her best to never cry, but retelling her story to Heather and seeing her reaction brought on a bit of emotion. "Life wasn't fair to either of us, but now we've got a place to call home with people who care about us."

Kerana

Liv couldn't help herself but to laugh. Larry really was a kind giant. Friends huh? Part of her thought it would be useful to have someone as big and simple minded as Larry as a friend. She quickly got rid of that thought however.

"Friends..sure! Quite the view up here Larry." Liv said happily.

Kerana giggled, "Friends, ofcourse!". She hugged part of his shoulder and snuggled. Her tail wagged from being happy, her soft fur brushing on his arm.

Larry chuckled as his arm was tickled by Kerana's tail. He put the girls down and smiled at them. "Happy"

He looked around the auditorium for his sister. He figured she must still be sad and crying. His attention turned back to the girls. "Play?"

Gidget could tell that Ako was troubled by these blackouts, and the apparent sleep walking he was doing was also a troublesome issue. But her analytical mind was overriding her empathetic one.

"Well I can see this is causing you some worry. However, you are among friends now, and the best way to see what you are doing during these blackouts is for you to spend as much time around us as possible. Speaking of which, you said you were wanting a job to do. I think Trinity could use a hand with whatever it is she has to tell me,"

Shane smirked and obliged the young lady by slipping the hoodie off and exposing his bare chest. "Now what were you saying about other things?"

"Burning it," Annie replied, half joking. "Getting you out of it and burning it." She batted her eyes, "That's it. It looks horrible and I don't like it. When I say other things why would I mean anything else, Mr. Morris?"

Smiling some she stepped forward and placed her hands on his chest and leaned up to his lips, pausing a mere hair's breadth from his lips and whispered, "Why? Were you thinking or hoping I meant something else by 'other things'? Like I said, what happens between us is your responsibility: you are the one who is supposed to take the lead." Blushing some she added, "Of course if you had other ideas, I doubt I would object."

"No problem." Deora said with a smile as she walked out of the bathroom, holding the door for Heather. "You didn't go too far, fortunately, or I might have gotten lost myself. And I wouldn't worry about you're brother, Kerana and that other woman probably have him pretty well distracted."

Ako was glad Gidget hadn't told him to see a doctor, or forcefully sent him to one, but it didn't seem like she was really concerned. He shrugged the worry aside, though. Maybe it was for the better that she didn't care. Maybe it wasn't something to worry about. The offer of work, or anything to get him outside, sounded good, though. "Do you have any idea of what she needed?" He asked.

"Burning it," Annie replied, half joking. "Getting you out of it and burning it." She batted her eyes, "That's it. It looks horrible and I don't like it. When I say other things why would I mean anything else, Mr. Morris?"

Smiling some she stepped forward and placed her hands on his chest and leaned up to his lips, pausing a mere hair's breadth from his lips and whispered, "Why? Blushing some she added, "Of course if you had other ideas, I doubt I would object."

Shane took a breath and whispered, "I may have an idea or two, and I can assure you that you wont object."

He cradled her jaw tenderly with his hands and pressed his lips to hers. He had enough with the banter and wanted only her now.
