"Quick as a fox, huh?" Day paw slid under him, raking his belly with sheathed claws before getting up to run away, and climb up a tree. Sitting on a high branch where she could easily escape him, Daypaw shouted down to her mentor. "Now lets see is you can climb like a fox."

Nightrunner scales the tree and pins his apprentice on the branch. "nice try little one. you need to work harder"

Knowing what she was about to do was both stupid and dangerous, Daypaw decided to kick Nightrunner in the stomach with her hind legs before twisting out from under him. falling off the branch, but only staying on the underside of it by using her claws. Quickly making her way to the end of the branch, Daypaw got on the upside of the branch only so she could jump onto another one in the tree next to the one she was in. She continued this tree hopping, trying to lose her mentor as best as she could.

Nightrunner remains dazed for a few moments then reorients himself and dashes off after his apprentice, taking an alternate but faster route so he will end up in front of her.

Since she had no idea where she was really going, Daypaw decided to double back, heading towards the Sandy Hallow and then to camp. This was becoming a fun game.

Nightrunner pauses then turns and surprises his apprentice, tackling her into the sand. "little runt"

Snorts at him. "You need a better hobby than chasing me around." Looking around, Daypaw tries to find something she could use to escape him.

Nightrunner softly touches his nose to daypaws and murmurs. "i love you" he lets her up then backs away.

(time warp. one year. kits are now apprentices and apprentices are now warriors) Nightrunner stretches and wakes up, feeling the sunlight stream across his fur as he pads into to the clearing.

Daylight was up early as she chewed a mouse in the clearing with her two kits, Moonkit and Sunkit.

Tulippetal walked into the clearing, coming back from hunting early in the morning. Dropping her prey in the fresh-kill pile, she took in the early morning air.

Lashingpaw chased a mouse all the way to the camp, not realising she was going to run into a tree somewhere on the outside of the camp, but it was already too late. Lashingpaw tried to shake the pain off, but her head kept throbbing everytime she did. The apprentice huffed as she watched the mouse scurry off somewhere in the bushes. "Ouch!" she yelped.

Hearing a thumping sound, Tulippetal headed back out of camp to find Lashingpaw rubbing her head. "Lashingpaw, don't tell me you ran into a tree catching prey again." She held the laughter that was bubbling up inside her at bay, willing Lashingpaw to say something serious to defuse her giggles.

Lashingpaw rose on all her fours, and shook the debris that clinged onto her fur, she looked at Tulippetal giggling. Lashingpaw laughed "I guess it was kinda funny seeing a cat run into a tree." She happily raised her tail, and placed her paw on the tiny bump that had formed on her head. "But it still hurts!" She wailed as she continued to rub it.

"Lashingpaw, I can only imagine what your kits will be like when you're older." Tulippetal mewed, walking over to the apprentice. "C'mon, lets take you to the Medicine Cat's Den so Fallowrock can take a look at that thick head of yours."

"Yeah, yeah" Lashingpaw rolled her eyes and climbed into the Medicine's cat den with Tulippetal.
